2. NAME OF MENINGES,
3. BRAIN STEM

Nuclei in brain stem:

CN 3 to 12

Midbrain: CN 3, 4 and 8
Pons: CN 7 and 8
Medulla: 9, 10, 11, 12

Trigeminal nuclei in all 3

Mid brain to pons, mesencephalic

Pons, main sensory
Medulla, spinal nucleus

4. HIND BRAIN
Consists of cerebellum, pons and medulla

Cerebellum:
Controls equilibrium i.e body position and coordination of the actions of
individual muscles to produce complex actions such as walking running,
riding and delicate work with hand. Also involved in learning memory storage
for behaviour

Pons
Bridge between cerebellum, medulla and cerebrum. Assists medulla in
controlling rate and pattern of heartbeat and breathing.
Medulla
Controls automatic functions of the body such as heartbeat, blood pressure,
respiration and swallowing.
