02 ● Random acts of anger and rude behaviour

02 BULLY
03

04

Somebody who is
habitually cruel, insulting,
or threatening to others.
Keep in mind
No one is born a bully. Bullying is a
negative behaviour that anybody is
01
capable of. You can choose to bully
02 others and create a negative
environment, or you can be kind and
03 move towards a positive environment for
04 everybody.

Everybody has the potential to change

and grow.
How bullying affects
both bully & victim

Let us understand
Victim
Let us understand how bullying affects a
victim through the story of priyanka
Priyanka’s story
● Once upon a time, in a vibrant town nestled between rolling hills and lush
meadows, lived a girl named Priyanka. With her sparkling eyes and a perpetually
cheerful smile, she brought sunshine wherever she went. Priyanka's bubbling
laughter was infectious, and her optimism was like a magnet that drew people
toward her.

● One day, Priyanka's family moved to a new town, and she began attending a new
school. Eager to make friends, she walked into her new classroom with hope in her
heart. But from the very beginning, something felt different. Whispers and giggles
seemed to follow her, and the friendly faces she expected turned cold and distant.

● Confused and hurt, Priyanka couldn't fathom why her classmates were treating her
this way. She had always been kind and open to everyone she met. Yet, every time
she tried to join a conversation or participate in an activity, her classmates would
exchange knowing glances and quickly change the subject.
Priyanka’s story
● Day after day, Priyanka endured the isolation and the hurtful comments that were
whispered just loud enough for her to hear. She carried the weight of this secret
pain on her shoulders, reluctant to burden her parents with her troubles. The once
vibrant light in her eyes began to dim, and her infectious laughter turned into a mere
echo of what it used to be.

● During lunch breaks, Priyanka would sit alone in a corner, her heart heavy with
sadness. She wished for the warmth of friendship that had always been a part of her
life. The ache in her heart grew deeper, yet she continued to wear a mask of
courage, not letting her parents see the storm raging within her.

● Weeks turned into months, and Priyanka's spirit continued to wane. She stopped
wearing her favorite colorful dresses and started keeping to herself more. The pain
of being excluded and mocked by her classmates had chipped away at her
self-esteem, leaving her feeling vulnerable and lost.
Bully
Let us now understand how bullying
affects a bully through the story of Tanish
Tanish & Akash’s story
● Once upon a time, in a friendly town, there were two best friends named Akash
and Tanish. They had been pals since they were little, always playing together
and sharing secrets. Akash was full of energy and liked to make people laugh,
while Tanish was calm and kind, always ready to help.

● As they grew up, they entered the seventh grade, and things began to change.
Akash's home life was tough. His parents had money problems, which made
them argue a lot. The happy home he knew turned into a sad place.

● Akash's heart felt heavy from all the problems at home. He didn't know how to
handle it, and his feelings turned into anger. He started being mean to Tanish,
saying hurtful things and even being rough sometimes. Tanish was confused
and hurt by this sudden change in his best friend.

● Tanish, on the other hand, had a loving family. His parents were always there
for him, supporting him with love and care. He stayed positive even when
things were tough.
Tanish & Akash’s story
● Akash's anger kept growing, and he didn't realize he was taking it out on
Tanish. He would say mean words without knowing how much they hurt. He
was like a storm, and Tanish was caught in the rain of his anger.

● Tanish decided to talk to Akash about what was happening. He wanted to

understand why his friend was acting this way. So, one day after school, he sat
down with Akash and gently asked, "Is something bothering you? You seem
different."

● Tears welled up in Akash's eyes. He finally let out all the pain he had been
holding in. He told Tanish about his parents' fights, the worries at home, and
how he didn't know how to handle it all. Tanish listened with care and kindness.

● Tanish realized that Akash was hurting inside, and that's why he had become a
bully. He didn't know how to deal with his feelings, so he took them out on his
best friend. Tanish offered his support and told Akash that he didn't have to go
through this alone.
Tanish & Akash’s story
● With Tanish's help, Akash started finding healthier ways to cope with his pain.
They talked to a teacher, who helped them find a counselor. Akash learned to
express his feelings and deal with his anger in better ways.

● Slowly, Akash's anger began to lessen. He realized the hurt he had caused to
his friend. With Tanish's friendship and understanding, he started changing
back into the fun-loving, caring person he used to be.

● Their friendship grew stronger as they faced this challenge together. Akash
learned that it's okay to ask for help and that true friends stick around even in
tough times. Tanish showed him that understanding and kindness can heal
wounds.

● And so, their friendship became a shining example of how understanding,

support, and forgiveness can turn things around, even when life gets tough.

Measures to
prevent bullying
Measures to prevent bullying
Be a friend to someone who is being bullied: Walk with the person in the hall, sit
with them at lunch, welcome them into your group.

Help the person talk to an adult: Walk with them to a counselor's officer or a
teacher, or make a witness report if you were there when the bullying occurred.

Don't participate: Avoid spreading rumors, contributing to online bullying,

laughing at mean remarks, or actively adding to the bullying in any way.

Tell the bully to stop: Assertively tell the bully that you don't like what they’re
doing, that it's bullying, and that it needs to stop.
Measures to prevent bullying
Tell bystanders to stop: If you see others participating in bullying or laughing along,
tell them they're making the problem worse and are also bullying.

Reach out to newcomers: If you notice a new person at your school, reach out to
them; introduce them to your friends and make them feel welcome.

Don't be afraid to think independently or be the only one voicing what others are
probably thinking: The people most celebrated in our culture are those who took the
risk to speak out and stand up to injustice.

Talk to parents, teachers, principal, and staff about bullying at school: Tell them
where it's happening, and where kids need greater protection.
