“Mental Illness”

Do you guys prefer to have someone to open up with about your feelings, to have some
piece of advice and to have shoulder to cry on? Why?
I chose this topic which is the Mental Illness. Metal Illness because nowadays depression is an
absolutely heartbreaking topic mostly young people are trying to kill their self because they
cannot handle their problems anymore. That’s why I want to speak about this because I want to
save this people. We are brothers and sisters here so we should help each other, love each other,
motivate each other and care for each other. So that we became aware with their feelings and
with our actions when we are interacting with them. However, here’s my three points to explain
why depression is absolutely heartbreaking topic nowadays.
Depression is an absolutely heartbreaking topic nowadays because it causes feelings of
sadness and/or a loss of interest in activities once enjoyed of someone.
The first point is that it causes feelings of sadness and/or a loss of interest in activities once
enjoyed of someone. It says that some people who get depressed feels like this. For example, my
friend who is depressed right now because she can’t accept the situation she had with her family.
Yes, this is very heartbreaking because same with her I came from broken family too. To the
point she’s losing her interest in activities she used to do. She was drowning with her own
thoughts to the point she chose to be quiet.
Depression is an absolutely heartbreaking topic nowadays because it can affect anyone – even a
person who appears to live in relatively ideal circumstances.
The second point, Yes it’s one of the factors why heartbreaking topic nowadays because it can
affect anyone when they see the person they use to see happy and doing fine. They are getting
confuse on what this people doing to their selves because they don’t even know that he/she is
depress. Just like my friend she’s not attending anymore our gatherings and fellowship in our
church. She’s always excused her self and making promises to make cope up to another week but
when that week come she’s still missing in action.
Depression is an absolutely heartbreaking topic nowadays because it leads to people suicide.
Last point, depression can lead into suicide because just like what I’ve observed with my friend,
she tells us that she cut her wrist because she can’t handle anymore her problem. I just figure out
that this kind of person is so much to bear with. She can’t think that there is a chance to survive
life. All she can think is to end her life.
Suicide is the second leading cause of death in young people. A major cause of suicide is mental
illness, very commonly depression. People feeling suicidal are overwhelmed by painful emotions
and see death as the only way out, losing sight of the fact that suicide is a permanent “solution”
to a temporary state-most people who try to kill themselves but live later say they are glad they
didn’t die. Most people who die by suicide could have been helped. An individual considering
suicide frequently confides in a friend, who may be able to convince them to seek treatment.
When the risk is high, concerned friends and relatives should seek professional guidance.

For the last part of my speech I want us to be aware with this kind of illness. Depression is not a
joke. We must be very aware with this situation we must do the action, we can always be there to
our friends, family and love ones. As much as possible try to confront with them, comfort them
when they needed you the most and motivate them in their hardships. Sometimes they don’t need
advices just be there, open your heart and mind to the things that they’re going to say just absorb
it and just listen. No judgement at all but when you heard that he/she is doing wrong then correct
him/her just no judgement. As much as possible spread peace and love. And lastly, here’s a
quote that might help us to get through with this illness:
“There’s always a light after the dark. You have to go through that dark place to get to it, but
it’s there, waiting for you. It’s like riding on a train through a dark tunnel. If you get so scared
you jump off in the middle of the ride, then you’re there, in the tunnel, stuck in the dark. You
have to ride the train all the way to the end of the ride.” – Han Nolan
It is just simple there is always hope. So keep fighting warrior just have faith with God because
the struggles that we had is a way that can help us to grow not to let us down.
