Question 1: Are you male or female? From this question I found out how many males have answered my questionnaire and how many females have answered my questionnaire.

Question 2: How old are you? From this question I can see that the majority of people I asked where within the age groups of 15-20, the next higher amount of people were within 21-25 and there were then 2 people I asked that were over 30.

Question 3: What is it in a film trailer that makes you want to watch the film? From this question I am able to see that most people that I have asked like to see clip its from the film within the trailer rather than anything else. However that are a small equal minority who prefer to see music, visual effects or sound effects.

Question 5: What is your favourite action film out of the following? From this question I have found out that from the 6 films there are an equal amount of people that favour die hard, rush hour and transporter over the other 3, however die hard and transporter are very similar in the type of action they show which tells me explosions and gunfire within the film is more popular.

Question 6: What is your least favourite action film out of the following? From this question I have found out that there is a large amount of people that disliked the film gladiator which tells me they dont like the older times within a film and physical fights.

Question 7: Do you like an action film to end with a cliffhanger or just a closed ending? From this question I can see that there is a larger amount of people that prefer to see a film end with a cliffhanger rather than a closed ending. However the results are very close which tells me that I could probably be safe with doing either.

Question 8: What sub-genre would you prefer to see linked with an action film? From this question I can see that most people would like to see romance within an action film over comedy, horror, and sci-fi.

Question 9: Do you prefer films to be filmed through the standard way of filming, or films filmed with a hand held camera, for example films like, blare witch project and cloverfield? From this question I can see that most people prefer a film when its been filmed using standard conventions rather than having it held hand like cloverfield.

What the questionnaire results have told me

From the results of my questionnaire I am able to figure out what I need to include in my film. I have decided that my target audience will most likely be people from 18 to 25 years of age. Within my trailer I will mainly be focusing on using clip its from my film over other areas of interest like sound effects etc. Question 4, 5 and 6 tell me that a lot of people would prefer to see a more modern action film which involves using explosions and gunfire, rather than more physical fights. I have noticed that most people would like to end the film with a cliffhanger so that it is open for a second film, therefore I am going to try and add that in to my film, however I could probably get away with using a closed ending if I wanted to. Also within my film I can see that romance is the preferred sub-genre to link with action therefore I am going to use romantic scenes within my film so that it appeals to a larger target audience. Finally I am going stick to using standard filming as there were not very many people that liked to see a film that used other forms of filming like hand held within it.
