Dear Editor,

Last week I happened to read an article about how young people feel their methods of
communication differ from those of their parents. I am writing this letter to express my
opinions regarding that subject.

Back in the days, there were limited communication methods. People used to
communicate by handwritten letter or telephone. The problem with these methods is
that they are very time-consuming and inconvenient. If an urgent news was to be
delivered, these methods wouldn’t be very effective. Technology is constantly evolving
and we now have more efficient ways to communicate. People can keep in touch
through instant messaging apps and social media platforms. Messages can be
delivered within a split second.

Despite this, I think we’re missing out on so much because we no longer make the effort
to communicate face-to-face. People nowadays have a large number of friends online
but few actual companions which can lead to depression and feelings of loneliness. As
a teen who spends hours on social media, I could totally relate to that.

Despite the evolution of new technologies, I honestly believe that we should put in effort
at making face-to-face interaction and live in the moment.

Yours sincerely,
Ariana
