1. Purpose

• The main purpose of this method statement is to outline the procedure of


installation timber door frames and sashes.

2. Specification and Drawing Reference

➢ CIDA Specification and BOQ.


➢ Tender Specifications
➢ Working Drawings – Approved Structural Drawings, Architectural & Interior
Design Drawings

3. Door Materials
• Mahogany Solid Timber Door Frames
• Mahogany Engineered Door Sashes with Mahogany Veneer
• 12mm x 12mm Steel “L” Angle (50 mm long)
• 8mm Drop Anchors Hot Dip Galvanized to
required micron
• 8mm G.I. Thread Bar (30mm long) levels(A.P.S by
Engineer)
• 1 ½” Screw Nails
• Welding Rods
• Epoxy Paint (Nippolac Epoxy Marine Paint – 2 Pack)
• Al Powder Coated Channel to Maintain 10x10 mm Shadow Gap
• Doorma Ironmongery as Specified

• Screw Drivers, Pliers, Hammers

7. Delivery, storage and Handling Wooden Doors


• Store doors in clean dry ventilated areas.
• Stack doors flat and off floors, supported to prevent wharfing.
• Store flat over level surface above the floor on wood blocks.
• No other materials are to be placed on top of stacked doors.
• Each door and frame are tagged indicating the door number and location.
• All doors and frames deliver with sealer finished from factory.

• Identify the correct door frame and its type and size.
• Check for plumb, squareness and twist of frame.
• Confirm the door location against the approved shop drawing.
• Verify that the dimensions of the opening are as specified in the drawing.
• Check the hardware schedule for correct items and correct sizes.
• Check for correct finished floor level and reference level prior to installation.
• At this site door frames to be fixed with stiffener columns.
• Mark the anchoring points at reveal as the distance shown in figure 1. (Four
points in each side)
• Drill the above points of stiffener columns and fix the drop anchors.
• Fix the Epoxy paint applied G.I. Thread bar into the anchor.
• Mark the above points at the center line of side face of the door frame and fix

the “L” angle on that location with screws as shown in “Detail A".
• Place the door frame at the correct position in the reveal and check for vertical
and horizontal alignment. Use the spirit level and plumb bob for this.
