(@) Vice Admiral Tarun Sobti has taken over as the Deputy Chief of the Indian Naval staff
➢ Vice Admiral Tarun Sobti has been appointed in place of Vice Admiral Sanjay
Mahendru .
➢ Vice Admiral Tarun Sobti was awarded Vishisht Seva Medal in 2020 and Ati
Vishisht Seva Medal in 2022 by the Hon'ble President of India.
➢ Vice Admiral Tarun Sobti was commissioned into the Indian Navy on July 1, 1988.
He is considered an expert in navigation and guidance in the Navy.

(@) Recently, former Prime Minister and populist leader Robert Fico has been elected
prime minister of Slovakia.
➢ Robert Fico is a member of the Slovakian leftist party 'Direction-Slovak Social
Democracy' (ASMER).
➢ Robert Fico has served as the Prime Minister of Slovakia from 2006-2010 and
again from 2012-2018.

(@) Recently, KN Shanta Kumar has been elected as the new chairman of the news
agency 'Press Trust of India' (PTI).
➢ K.N. Shanta Kumar has been appointed chairman in place of Aveek Kumar Sarkar.
➢ Along with this, the board has elected Hindustan Times CEO Praveen Someshwar
as the Vice Chairman of 'Press Trust of India' (PTI).
