WORLWIDE STATUS OF SOLAR FARM
With a capacity of 2,245 MW, Bhadla Solar Park
became the biggest solar park in 2020. The park,
which spans more than 5,700 hectares (14,000
acres), is located in Bhadla village in the Jodhpur
district of Rajasthan, India's desert state.
Increased energy needs, more successful policies,
lower power costs, technological advances, higher
investment, and ambitious climate goals have all
led to the expansion of solar development. As a
result, solar farms have grown in size and spread
out.
As with other kinds of electricity generating,
major issues exist in terms of regional habitat
alteration, such as that caused by the heat island
effect and the stress it causes to local vulnerable
species. Several planned major facilities in the
United States state of California have been scaled
back in part owing to similar concerns.
The Malaysian government also provides financial
incentives to boost the construction and
deployment of large-scale solar farms through a
variety of schemes.

THE DEVELOPMENT
Negative effects on native plants and animals include habitat loss,
disruption from rainfall and drainage, and direct contact resulting in
injury or death.
Impact on soil, water, and air resources: Building solar facilities on
vast expanses of land necessitates clearing and grading, which results
in soil compaction, probable channel modifications, and increased
runoff and erosion. Any rise in water demand in arid places may have
an impact on the restricted water supply.
The initial cost of purchasing a solar system is high. The major issue is
the lack of available space. More solar panels and space are required as
the demand for power grows.
The effectiveness of a solar farm is affected by the weather. Solar
energy, for example, can be generated on gloomy and rainy days, but
the efficiency of the solar system will be reduced.
