The Clever Fox and the Greedy Dog

There was a dog. He had a box of cookies. Along came a hungry Fox. The Fox was sniffing for food on
the ground with his nose. Fox asked Dog for some food. But Dog was a greedy dog! Dog said he didn’t
have any food. Then, Dog rushed home and hid the cookies behind his cupboard.

But Fox was clever, too. He could smell the cookies outside! The Fox went and tried to open the lock of
Dog’s house. But the lock was too big.

Fox then had an ideal! He went to Dog and gave him a pot. He told Dog that there was milk in the pot. But
it was actually empty. Dog quickly went home and took out the box of cookies to eat with the milk. Fox
saw where Dog was hiding the cookies through the window. Dog was angry at Fox for lying to him.

That night, Fox waited for Dog to go to sleep. He took a rope and made a lasso. Fox swung the rope
through the open window over the cupboard and around the box of cookies. Fox silently slid the box
outside.

The clever Fox ate all the cookies and the next morning poor Dog could never find out who stole his
cookies!
