PLOT/PROBLEM
ENDING/RESOLUTION
The day of the rescue comes, and people all over Earth gather to watch. When all is ready, Martinez lifts the MAV
off. The force is so great it knocks Watney unconscious. The gutted MAV still cannot get enough altitude, so
Martinez has to burn the jets to get closer. The intercept speed will be too great, however. Watney regains
consciousness and suggests a plan that involves poking a hole in his EVA suit. This gives Lewis the idea to blow the
vehicular airlock in order produce thrust. She orders Alex Vogel to make a bomb. They blow the airlock, and Beck
jumps out to pull Watney in. The rescue is a success, and the whole world cheers. Happiest of all is Watney, who
stinks but is finally on his way back to Earth.
II. Review
The Martian is a 2015 science fiction film directed by Ridley Scott and starring Matt Damon. Drew Goddard
adapted the screenplay from The Martian, a 2011 novel by Andy Weir. The film depicts an astronaut's (Damon)
lone struggle to survive on Mars after being left behind, and the efforts of NASA to rescue him and bring him
home to Earth. The Martian is a 2015 science fiction film directed by Ridley Scott and starring Matt Damon. Drew

Negative Reviews:
Recommendation
The Martian is a great movie but it has a lot of flaws like how realistic it should be. Yes, it Sci-fi but it could have
been more realistic because we have the knowledge how things work on the other planet. Oddly the movie has a lot
of joy in it despite the subject matter being a about whiny stranded alone on a planet with no way back home.
Overall, I recommend the movie to others as it depicts the fighting spirit of a human on surviving on its own.
