I am going to answer this question assuming you have little to no experience in the fields of
AI or Machine Learning. I personally tried to dive into Machine Learning with Andrew Ng’s
Machine Learning course on Coursera. I had no experience with Linear Algebra or Calc 3 and
the math felt a little over my head in the beginning and I got discouraged. I was also very
busy and didn’t have the time to catch up on knowledge I needed to get the most out of the
course.

Later on, I took a course on Udemy called “Python for Data Science and Machine Learning
Bootcamp” and it was much simpler. If you are already skilled in Python you can skip the
python parts but the Machine Learning parts were great because they gave a math free
theory lecture on each machine learning model you were going to implement. I found this
to be a much softer introduction to Machine Learning.

I later on went back to Andrew Ng’s Machine Learning course and it made much more sense
to me. I also am now enrolled in Andrew Ng’s new Deep Learning specialization on Coursera
which is fantastic.

So, in summary, if you aren’t afraid of the math heavy theory lectures, definitely jump
straight to Coursera. If you want a softer introduction, Udemy courses are more geared
towards absolute beginners (in my opinion).

Good luck!

well dont expect that by following the particular set mantra will make you next Andrew Ng
and other Esteemed professor of AI . this field is combination of maths , computer science ,
economics etc ( according to the field in which you want to apply AI). your first step ia to
find the absolute basics of this field ( what is agent , enviornment etc) then there will be
various algorithms ( like minmax , genetic algo etc used in basic Chess or tic tac go games.

Probably the best way to learn these things would be an online course with good
assignments, and being able to apply those resources to something in your daily life. This is
assuming you aren't yet able to take a course in AI/ML at your university already.

Here's a list of courses I've compiled from a MOOC search engine:

-Intro to Machine Learning on Udacity
-Artificial Intelligence for Robotics on Udacity
-Intro to Artificial Intelligence on Udacity
-Learning From Data - Online Course (MOOC) via Cal Tech
-Machine Learning Course On Supervised Learning on Udacity

1. Udacity
Intro to Artificial Intelligence

This class is a self-paced primer on AI, which is subdivided into ten major lessons. Once
enrolled, you’ll get an overview of artificial intelligence as well as walkthroughs of concepts
such as machine learning, computer vision, robotics, natural language processing, and game
theory. But before you enroll, be sure that you’ve taken some lessons on probability theory
and linear algebra since some of the topics use these as platforms.

If you are interested in AI because you wish to make a career in the area then you need to
make the up-front decision of whether you're interested in philosophy, neuroscience or
machine learning.

For the former I would recommend starting out with essays by Dennett, Boden and Turing.
Here's a relevant answer: I have read the Jaegwon Kim "Philosophy of Mind". What are
other notable manuals?

If you are interested in the neuroscience then there's a computational neuro course online

For the beginning I would recommend you the following:
- Machine Learning course on Coursera (Coursera )
- CS188.1x course (UC BerkeleyX: CS188.1x: Artificial Intelligence )
- Get the book Artificial Intelligence: A Modern Approach (Artificial Intelligence: A Modern
Approach )

Solve exercises from the book and the courses and then try to find the challenges from the
real world where you could apply the concepts from the courses.

The courses listed above and the book are great to gain theoretical background and gaining
experiences from applying it on real-life challenges, I believe you are on the go… (more)
