CONDITIONAL FORMATTING

Here are the steps for applying conditional formatting in Excel:

1. Select the Range: First, select the cells or range of cells that you want to apply conditional
formatting to.

2. Open the Conditional Formatting Menu: Go to the "Home" tab on the ribbon, and click on
the "Conditional Formatting" option. This is where you'll find various options for setting up
conditions.

3. Choose a Rule Type: In the dropdown menu, you'll see different types of rules. For example,
you can highlight cells that contain a certain value, are above or below a certain value, or meet
other criteria.

4. Set the Conditions: Depending on the rule type you selected, you'll need to specify the
conditions. For example, if you chose "Greater Than", you'll need to specify the value that it
should be greater than.

5. Format Style: After setting the conditions, you'll specify how you want the cells to be
formatted when they meet those conditions. This could be changing the font color, cell fill color,
adding icons, etc.

6. Apply Rule To: You can choose whether the rule applies to the entire selected range or only
certain aspects like values, formulas, etc.

7. Manage Rules (Optional): You can edit, delete, or add new rules by going back into the
Conditional Formatting menu and selecting "Manage Rules".

8. Review and Confirm: Once you're satisfied with the rule you've set, click "OK" to apply it.
That's it! The cells that meet the specified conditions will now be formatted according to your
rules. Remember, you can apply multiple conditional formatting rules to the same range, and
Excel will apply them in the order they're listed.
