Resolution At AWKUM
Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan (AWKUM) stands at a critical juncture where the need for equitable
education has become paramount. In response to the prevailing challenges, this resolution is proposed
to address the concerns surrounding tuition fee hikes and teacher salaries. By fostering transparency,
collaboration, and fair practices, AWKUM can pave the way for a brighter and more inclusive academic
future.
Background:
In the past five to six days, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan experienced a strike, albeit without
direct involvement from the teaching staff. As of now, the strike has concluded, but the details regarding
the recent discussions between the Voice Chancellor (VC), Dr. Zahoor Ul Haq, and the university
employees remain unclear.
While the strike was ongoing, there was a lack of information about the nature of the discussions or
negotiations between the VC and the employees. However, it is evident that the situation has now been
resolved, bringing an end to the strike.
The recent wave of discontent among the AWKUM community has underscored two central issues - the
escalating burden of tuition fees on students and the stagnation of teacher salaries. Recognizing the
urgency of these matters, this resolution seeks to reconcile the interests of all stakeholders, creating an
environment conducive to learning, growth, and fairness.

Conclusion:
In adopting this resolution, AWKUM charts a course toward a more inclusive, transparent, and
collaborative educational environment. The university community is currently unaware of the specific
details of the agreement or understanding reached between the VC and the employees. It is hoped that
this resolution marks a positive step forward and that both parties can now work collaboratively to
maintain a harmonious and productive environment within the university.
As more information becomes available, the university community anticipates gaining insights into the
recent developments and the ongoing collaboration between the administration, represented by VC Dr.
Zahoor Ul Haq, and the dedicated employees.
