Write  a  descriptive  paragraph  about  a  special  possession.  Describe  the  possession  including  
how  it  looks  and  feels.  Express  your  feelings  about  it.  Explain  why  this  possession  is  
meaningful  to  you.

 My  paragraph  has  a  topic  sentence  that  introduces  the  item  you  are  describing.  
 I  provided  background  information  about  my  possessions.  
 My  paragraph  includes  supporting  sentences  that  tell  the  reader  how  my  possession  
looks,  feels,  sounds,  or  smells.  
 I  correctly  used  similes  or  other  comparisons  to  make  my  writing  more  descriptive.  
 I  included  a  concluding  sentence  that  restates  my  main  idea.  
 
 
Language:  
 
 I  included  adjectives  in  my  sentences  to  give  my  reader  a  more  complete  picture.  
 I  placed  all  adjectives  before  nouns.  
 I  used  the  verb  be  before  adjectives  and  nouns.  
 I  capitalized  the  first  letter  of  each  sentence  and  used  end  punctuation.
