History of the Neverending Masters My earliest years on this earth, were served in devotion to my master, Guan Yu. As his secretary and scribe, I was one of his closest and devoted servants. In the glorious year of our earth, 219, my master, Guan Yu was a general, fighting for the Lord Liu Bei. Under direct orders, my lord attacked the city of Fancheng. During the battle, my lord was saved by a courageous young soldier, named Cuixu. Cuixu was devoted to fighting, and obsessed with being a perfect fighter. My master would remember and honor this valiant act, upon his ascension to the heavens. Through a series of vision, my master communicated with Cuixu and told him that his reward, would be for his fighting style to live on throughout eternity and continue as long as it fought evil. And so, this began the legacy of the Neverending Masters. Each master in the legacy, passes on his unique fighting style to the next master. Styles that can only be used and mastered by those who have been appointed as Neverending Masters. Each Neverending Master has a possession of unique power. Power to heal from wounds or withstand great physical blows. To cultivate this appointment, my master decided that each Neverending Master has the lifespan of three or four men. This allotment of time, allows each master to reach his potential. During their appointment, a Neverending Master has the task of being added to the Scroll of the Masters. As maintainer of the scroll and appointed Style Master, I provide each master with a style, unique to their origin and way of life. Being added to the Scroll of the Masters is more than just simple developing a fighting style, the appointed one proves himself and gains this privilege. A Neverending Master is appointed by a previous master. In the event that a Neverending Master uses his powers for evil, I have been given the power to remove that one from the scroll and appoint another. In order to protect these sacred writings, my master instructed me to use an ancient form, older than he. I was instructed in this secretive form by my master. Its known only as Forgotten Hand. There is no maker, for it has always been. Forgotten Hand can only be understood by a Neverending Master. Only a trained Neverending Master can see the text clearly, always evolving and changing.

However, in the year of 2006, Meng appointed his successor. One who change the structure of the scroll indefinitely. This is the story of that great one! This is the story of the master; born from New York City. I am Majid, and as the Style Master, it is my privilege to tell share with you his tale. This is his account; how he added his great style to the Scroll of Masters. This is the story of MASTERNEVER AND THE FLOW OF DEATH

It is written in the heavens

Chapter 1 Scroll text years 2008, Translated Forgotten Hand On the clearest of spring days, when the sky was an emerald blue. All was divine in the China of New York. If you will, picture this divine scene A neighborhood street, filled with businesses. Mr. Wings barbershop which was always full. Mrs. Weixs fruit stand, which had the ripest, and most bountiful selection of fruits. While the young ones play hide and go seek on the sidewalk, a group of elders play chess. Their fixed position and their stone faces reveal their concentration. They are not disturbed by Mrs. Huas singing group, which sings songs she has written. Songs which were her gift to the community. All was well, for the time being. Suddenly, the peaceful setting that existed, ceased, upon the arrival of three black luxury cars. All who were enjoying the peaceful setting, disperse. Onlookers close doors, children run inside; shop keepers close their doors and start locking up. The cars stop in front of the Last Dragon restaurant, which has been a cornerstone of the community for years. Two men step out of each of the cars. Each of the young, Chinese men, wear black suits, with, white shirts, and black ties. To add further suspicion, they all wear black sunglasses. After making sure that all is well, one of the young men moves towards the second car. He opens the door, and from the depths of the automobile, exits Mr. Lo. At the time of this story, Mr. Lo was fifty six years young. As usual, Mr. Lo was dressed in the finest suit. The cleanest white shirt and tie. Mr. Lo looked toward the restaurant with displeasure. He was uncomfortable with the visit, for he wanted to return to China as soon as possible. The six bodyguards carefully escort Mr. Lo towards the entrance of the restaurant. Before entering the restaurant Tony Jai, emerges with two of his own bodyguards. Tony made his best effort to appear professional and impress Mr. Lo. Tony Jai was the younger son of famed Triad boss, Aisin Lo. Tony was responsible for handling many of his father's businesses and running the New York City businesses. Instead of being a businessman, Tony spent more time as a playboy. The thirty one year old was more concerned with his looks than the family business, which basically managed itself. Tony wiped his sweaty hands as Mr. Lo stood silently in front of him. Tony extended his hands, hoping to shake Mr. Lo's hand. "Mr. Lo, we're honored to have you here sir!" said Tony. Before he could continue with his sentence, he was interrupted by Mr. Lo, who showed repulsion when he looked at Tony's extended hand.

"Please" said Mr. Lo, "We both know the reason why I'm here. Your father sent me to straighten out the mess you've made here." A frantic Tony Jai attempted to keep his composure. "Mr. Lo, not everything is as it appears!" said Jai. Mr. Lo wasn't trying to hear the weak plea. "Let us continue this discussion inside" replied Mr. Lo. The group makes their way inside. Mr. Lo and young Jai walk ahead of their bodyguards. The restaurant is finely furnished with red and black design. Blood red carpets, black curtains, black tables and red fish in large tanks. In the far corner of the establishment, exist a bar filled with exotic liquors. The restaurant which is usually filled, is empty on this day, prepared for Mr. Lo's arrival. To add to the presentation, the waiters and host wear ancient garb from long ago. Garb which I had abandoned long ago! Blue silk robes and slippers. Mr. Wen has been the host since the restaurant had opened in the middle of 85. These years, he has been suppressed by the firm hand of Mr. Jai's family. In his mid sixties now, Mr. Wen no longer exhibited the same vitality he did years ago. Mr. Wen makes his best effort to look pleased as he stepped forward. "Welcome, Welcome! Thank you for coming. This way, please!" said Mr. Wen. Mr. Lo was motionless. Sensing Mr. Lo's displeasure, Mr. Wen lowered his head and guided the party towards the interior dining room. Once inside the main dining room, the party came to an immediate halt. Sitting at the center table, eating the meal that had been prepared for Mr. Lo, was Masternever himself. He sensed the party's arrival and continued to eat the portions of duck, using chopsticks. He did not even bother to turn around, after sensing that the party had arrived. Up until this point, Masternever had been but a rumor in many circles of the Triad. Upon learning of Mr. Lo's arrival, he decided to make himself publicly known. At the time, Masternever was nineteen years young. His traditional form of clothing was much different than mine. He adorned a head garment that read "NY". The head garment, often covered his eyes and provided anonymity. A canvas black book bag, with a compartment for his black skateboard, sweatshirt, canvas pants and kicks. I have to admit, I myself too was taken aback by the appearance of someone who was not Chinese when I met him. With his back still turned to the group, Masternever speaks. "Mr. Lo, nice of you join us. Mr. Jai made every attempt to prepare for your arrival!" Mr. Lo stepped forward slowly. He removed his glasses. He was more curious

and also impressed at the boldness of the uninvited guest. Mr. Lo removed his sunglasses and looked upon the young man with his own eyes. Mr. Lo then became angry and looked at young Jai. He thought that young Jai had once again failed to do the simplest of tasks. Still, Mr. Lo kept his composure, as always. "I have to admit Tony, brining in a hit man to deal with me, I feel very honored. However, your man failed... miserably!" said Masternever. Masternever then revealed a handkerchief he had in his pocket. He threw the handkerchief on the floor and the platinum fronts that had been the calling card of the famed triad assassin, Mr. Shi came tumbling out. "Mr. Shi will no longer be joining you!" said Masternever as he laughed and then continued eating the finest portions of duck. Mr. Lo wanted to know more about this young man. If he was skilled enough to dispose of Mr. Shi, he was worth talking to. As Mr. Lo started walking down the stairs, into the dining area, his men started to follow; he knew that violence would not be a successful method of communication. The older and wiser triad boss decided to use stealth. Hoping to elicit a response from Masternever, Mr. Lo spoke directly to him saying "Mr. Shi was one of our best men... This is truly a great loss to our family. I will have to personally send this bad news back home to my superiors. Whom should I say is responsible?" Although Masternever was young and still somewhat immature, he obliged Mr. Lo. He finished off the bowl of duck, and after drinking from the bowl, he wiped his mouth. He turned around and locked eyes with Mr. Lo, who remained calm and interested. "You may tell your superiors that Masternever was at your service!" said Masternever. This boldness had infuriated young Jai. These kinds of bold acts had been the cause of much distress over the last six months. After all it was Masternever who had made great disturbances in the Jai family business. Feeling humiliated Tony Jai ordered his men to attack. "Get him!" "No, wait!" said Mr. Lo. Mr. Lo tried to prevent the attack, so he could learn more about his new enemy, but it was too late. The armed guard pulled out their automatic weapons. Mr. Wen and the waiter on hand took flight! Masternever flips upwards and moves with such speed that he moves in between the bullets that are being fired. At seeing this Tony Jai reveals his firearm and tries to shoot Masternever as well. Mr. Lo looked on in astonishment. He had seen someone move with such speed and precision years ago, while still working his way up into the family. Masternever was use to this type of interaction with Jai's men. He had done this several times in the past and considered this play. Growing tired of dodging

bullets, Masternever jumped onto the platform where the eight bodyguards are. Using the former master's style, the "Fist of the Wind" technique, which allows him to disappear and reappear when striking his opponent, he dispatches on guard after the other. Young Jai was all too familiar with this scene. He made an attempt to leave the room when he was stopped by Masternever. Masternever grabs Tony Jai by the collar. Although the young master had a playful fighting spirit, he did not like Jai. The assassination attempt was the excuse he needed to take Tony Jai's life. Tony Jai sensed that Masternever wanted to end his life in front of Mr. Lo, to further humiliate him. At that instant, sirens were heard. During this time, Masternever was but a myth. Few in Chinatown spoke of him, and even few of these reports made it to the police department. "I'm going to deal with you later" says Masternever. He pushes Tony backwards. Tony falls through a walls made of decorated materials. Masternever still sensing the urgency to leave, looked towards Mr. Lo. Mr. Lo looked on at Masternever in amazement. He wasn't in awe of the skilled fighting technique, but he was reminded of someone who gave the Jai family problems in China, years ago. "You, I know you..." said Mr. Lo, while trying to recall the memory from years ago. Masternever enjoyed taunting his foes and enjoyed quoting lines from his favorite cinemas. "You dirty swine" said Masternever, as he laughed and then uses the "Fist of the Wind" technique to take flight. Mr. Lo's concentration is broken when Mr. Wen runs into the dining area with several police officers. Mr. Wen was less concerned with Masternever and more concerned with the safety of his restaurant. The officers look at the bodyguards on the floor, writhing in pain. They were confused as to what could have possibly happened. Eight body guards lay on the floor, agonizing and not one of them had been shot with a pistol. A few naive members of the police helped Tony Jai to his feet. Mr. Lo, paid little mind to the police officer who helped him to his feet and asked him questions. He thought to himself "I have seen someone move like that before". He thought back to China, and for an instant, he thought about his confrontation with a Neverending Master, and the impossibility of someone like that being here in New York City. Mr. Lo's good memory and Masternever's unnecessary display of skills would lead to a great deal of trouble, as you shall soon see.

Chapter 2 Since his arrival in this country many years ago, Meng had lived in his Chinatown apartment. The large space allowed him to create a shrine dedicated to my master; in addition there was a small kitchen area, with an island counter, a small living room area which was frequently used to watch the Knicks and the Mets. On this particular evening, Meng vigorously washed the small amount of dishes before him, in the sink. Meng, was a particularly deceptive Neverending Master, as far as his appearance goes. No more than 5'5" in height. He had very little hair and kept a small goatee and mustache. On other evenings, Meng would be care free, thinking happily about the future. However, on this night, he worried about the commission he is to give his pupil. This weighed heavily on his mind. He thought of his pupils appointment this evening, and then thought about the task the pupil had ahead of him. As Meng continues with the dishes, Masternever walks into his apartment. Meng often kept the apartment door unlocked, since it faced a hallway. Meng looks at Masternever and manages to create a smile. Masternever walks to the kitchen area. As usual the two greet each other by bumping fist. Meng continues cleaning the dishes. Masternever stands idly by. "What's good?" says Masternever. "The dishes." replies Meng. "You're on your own with that!" says Masternever, who then laughs. Meng was amused by Masternever's response until he noticed spots of blood on Masternever's sweatshirt. He knew what must have happened. To be sure and to let Masternever know, he saw the blood, Meng stops washing the dishes and tries to scratch off the dry spots of blood. Masternever realizes that Meng saw the blood and hopes that finally, Meng would show approval for his frequent night adventures. Meng steps away and continues to wash the dishes. "You have been out crusading!" says Meng. Masternever was waiting for a response and the opportunity to tell Meng about what happened. To explain his position he says "Are you serious? I've been out fighting the bad guys!" Meng laughs to himself and then thinks about the great task he is about to assign his pupil. Masternever is prepared to share his version of the story, but it has been a long night. He walks to Meng's refrigerator, and takes out a bottle of water, and starts to drink. Meng washes the final dish and dries his hands with a towel. "I'm glad you're here though, we must have a talk." says Meng. Sensing that Meng was

displeased or about to make him do something he did not want to do, Masternever replies "Ah come on!" Meng then walks to the far end of the kitchen and picks up a plate from the counter. The plate is covered with a metal lid to keep it warm. "Follow me" says Meng. Then he proceeds to walk to the area of the apartment that has the shrine. "Are we eating?" says Masternever, who then proceeds to follow Meng and places his bottled water on the kitchen counter. Meng places his plate on the living room table and continues walking to the area of the apartment where there is a shrine. The shrine is a wooden altar that stands four feet high and six feet in length. It is painted in fine and brilliant red. There is a statue of my master as well. It is red and it is on top of the altar. The statue is three feet tall. There are a number incense sticks on the shrine. The altar has a number of drawers as well. Meng sits on the floor in front of the altar. He sits on his knees, and Masternever does the same. Meng opens the bottom draw and pulls out a worn wooden box, which has several holes in it, and is approximately a foot in length and three inches wide. Meng then pulls out a pair of reading glasses from his pocket. Meng places the box on the floor, in between the two. Masternever is confused and thinks Meng is playing a joke. "Do you know what this is?" asks Meng. Masternever still does not realize the severity of the situation. He smiles at Meng. Meng opens the box and pulls out a worn and tattered scroll. Masternever looks at the scroll while Meng unravels it. The scroll contains a number of lines, that resemble what is known as graffiti and Chinese characters. In fact, it is the style of marking that I have perfected and that Masternever would soon learn. The style is known only to Neverending Masters as Forgotten Hand. In any event, Masternever had been told about the scroll in the past. He looked at the scroll and saw the markings and the various masters in fighting stances. "The Neverending Masters!" he said. "All of the masters who have carried on the tradition of the Neverending Masters are listed here." says Meng. "This is the Scroll of the Masters. Each master is listed along with the fighting style they have mastered. Each master, including myself, has made a contribution to this legacy. You have yet to contribute." said Meng sternly. Masternever sensed the severity of the situation while looking at Meng and hearing him speak. "Master, I'm still learning to use the powers that you've given me!" says Masternever. "My young friend, since your appointment, you've progressed a great deal. You have only

learned a few of the basic styles from the scroll, but now it is time for you to step forward and contribute to the legacy and doing so, add your name to the Scroll of the Masters." said Meng. Masternever had heard of the scroll, several times after he was appointed as a Neverending Master. He always knew that he would have to add to the legacy, but he thought this assignment was years away. "What can I possibly do? What can I add to the legacy? I don't think that I'm ready. I don't have anything to add." said Masternever, hoping to somehow avoid the task. Masternever begins to doubt himself. Meng senses this and says "That is where you are wrong my friend. You, like every other master of the scroll, has something to pass onto the next." Masternever looks at the scroll with confusion, totally unsure of the task ahead of him. "Meng, this is impossible, I don't understand these characters, this isn't traditional Chinese writing. I can't read this" says Masternever. "If you need help deciphering the Scroll of the Masters, perhaps you should find the author!" says Meng. "You didn't create this?" says Masternever, who is very surprised. "The creator is the one who has given me my style and all of the masters before me. He is known as the Style Master. His name is Majid." says Meng. "Is he in China?" asks Masternever. Meng stands up. He walks away from Masternever. He looks out the apartment window. He sees the town of China and thinks about when his master gave him the assignment of adding to the scroll very long ago. "It has been some time since I have seen the creator of the scroll. He lives here in New York City. He was someone that I was close to for many years. He will help you decipher the remainder of the document and help you develop your style." said Meng. "Develop my style? Is this necessary?" said Masternever. Meng turns around. Masternever sees a look that he has never seen from Meng. Masternever becomes fearful. "Yes. I'm afraid it is" replies Meng. Meng walks away from Masternever and heads towards his living room area. He sits on a small grey cushioned seat. His food is before him. He removes the lid from the plate and then prays briefly. Masternever stands by idly, hoping that Meng would provide him with some type of assistance. Meng reaches for his remote that is on the table, and turns on the television. He starts eating, and watches a basketball game. Masternever sensed that his journey to find me, would be one where he would have to work alone. Masternever picks up the scroll and the wooden box. Masternever walks to

the living room area. Hoping still, that Meng would provide some type of direction, Masternever says "Master...where do I begin?" Meng ignores Masternever, not out of disrespect, but he is firm and wants Masternever to find me on his own. Meng continues to watch the television and eat. "Master..." says Masternever. Realizing that he will not receive assistance, he leaves Meng's apartment. As the front door closes, Meng looks at the door and sighs. He closes his eyes and lowers his head. He is worried and concerned about what lies ahead.

Chapter 3 There were number of onlookers outside of the Last Dragon restaurant, that afternoon. The police were successful in creating a blockade, keeping the onlookers and the press away from the surreal crime scene. A black, late model Oldsmobile arrives at the scene. Judi Long steps out the passenger side. Her partner, Gavin Brown exits from the driver seat. Judi is twenty six years of age, at the time of this writing. A native New Yorker and product of Chinatown. A beautiful Chinese woman, who stands 56 and has a slim, athletic build. To maintain a professional look, Judi keeps her hair slicked back and in a bun. Judi was promoted to detective at an early age, after completing a special program in the New York police academy. Her partner Gavin, came to New York, by way of Philadelphias Chinatown. Gavin is thirty three at the time of this writing. Gavin is more confident than street savvy, but hes sure of himself. The two flash their badges briefly and make their way into the restaurant. When they enter the dining area, Judi and Tony lock eyes momentarily. Tony and Mr. Lo are being questioned by several officers in uniforms. Tony grins and then continues to answer the officer before him. Judi isnt amused, but disgusted at the site of young Jai. You see, the two had grown up in Chinatown together. The site of that grin, reminded Judi of the same arrogant and cocky kid who bullied everyone because of his fathers power. Judi and Gavin take the report from the plain clothes officer and he walks away. Gavin looks at Tony Jai and then Mr. Lo. He isnt overly impressed with either, but he senses that Mr. Lo is an important member of the Jai family. Tony looks Judi up and down and then says Judi, you are looking good. Thats detective Long replies Judi. Gavin hands Judi the report. She looks at the notes of the report and becomes confused. According to the host, there was a trespasser. He attacked your men and youre not interested in filing a report? asks Judi. Judi is frustrated. She realizes that they had nothing, and they could not force them to talk. Judi and Gavin had been looking for a link between Jai and the powerful drug on the street, known as Ying Tang. Its a shame we cant bring you in says Judi, as she looks at Jai. Tony Jai grins and shrugs his shoulders, displaying his normal arrogance. Judi hoped that Mr. Lo would be more helpful. Would you like to share some details on your attacker? says Judi. No, that will not be necessary detective replies Mr. Lo. Directing her attention towards Mr. Lo You dont have to talk to us, thats fine. I dont know much about you, but my guess is that youre hear to clean up little Jais mess! Tony Jai is extremely upset. Judi continues speaking to Mr. Lo The information we have is that a Black male has been attacking your businesses.

We need to get this guy on the payroll replied Gavin. Detective, we both appreciate your assistance. I came here to visit my friends son. My bodyguards were attacked, and the attacker managed to escape without me seeing him. You see, as soon as I heard there was an intruder, I crawled underneath a table for safety. So you see, I could not possibly have seen him Im unaware of any issues that concern Mr. Jai here. Now, youll have to excuse me, I came in straight from the airport and I wasnt able to get any rest. Is there anything else you need? asks Mr. Lo. Judi realizes that they cannot be held accountable. No, if I need you, Ill be in touch. Thank you and good afternoon to you both. Tony winks his eye as he looks at Gavin, then he smiles as he looks at Judi. Mr. Lo and Tony Jai walk out of the restaurant. Gavin walks towards Judi, while looking at the report. According to the report he gave, hes a business man from Hong Kong, and hes in town visiting his friends son. Just another friend of the family says Gavin with a sarcastic tone. That bullshit! says Judi. There is something going on. A member of the family wouldnt come from China unless there was something important t happening. Judi looks at the damage of the restaurant. There are a number of broken chairs, tables and bullet holes in the walls. Gavin walks behind her. He says Okay, weve seen this before. Triad ambush, no one is speaking; no traces of attackers; and a bunch of guys headed for the hospital and, lets not forget the most important thing. The sighting of the young Black guy This guy cant be on his own. Gav, if there was a battle with another family, there would have been some type of payback by now! Tony is an arrogant son of a bitch, but hes never been afraid of using his familys muscle. I think theyre just as confused as we are says Judi. Well the only difference is that this time we got a name says Gavin, while looking that the report. Before the fighting started, the host heard the young man identify himself as Masternever. I dont understand this guy says Judi while trying to put together the information. Who was he? she thought to herself while looking at the damaged restaurant.

Chapter 4 Unlike the other Neverending Masters, Masternever hid his identity from the public. His birth name is that of Arious Alcide. Without the hat to hide his eyes, you can see that he is a handsome young male. During the midst of the afternoon, Arious skates down an empty Chinatown street. He rides until he makes his way into an alley. The alley is clean, but secluded. He makes his way towards his fathers restaurant Yungs Kitchen. Before entering, Arious takes the scroll out of his book bag and looks at it. He starts to think about where he should begin. He has a few ideas on where to go for help, but he isnt certain. He puts the scroll back into his book bag and enters the restaurant. The kitchen in the rear of the restaurant is small but clean. It is partially visible from the takeout window in the front. There are many boxes with onions, rice and peppers. The restaurant smells of the best food, for Ariouss parents were excellent cooks, on warm nights in the summer, there was a line that exceeded the lengths of the restaurants door. Arious heads for a closet where he places his book bag and picks up an apron. Hey Dad, says Arious. Whats up Arious? responds Yung. At the time of this writing, Yung, a Chinese man at the age of forty five, is in great shape. He has a friendly disposition, and is well groomed. He smiles as he cooks chicken in a wok. Arious walks to the sink, and starts washing his hands. His mother, Sue, who at the time of this writing was thirty eight, looks like she is several years younger. Always with a smile and she has a great personal relationship with each customer. Treating each as if, he or she was a close friend. Hey Arious! says Sue. Hey mom replied Arious. She hadnt seen Arious all day. She was happy to see him. She gives Arious a hug and kiss. She looks at Arious with concern. Like any mother, she can sense when the child she has raised is bothered by something. Arious is everything okay? asks Sue. Im okay replies Arious. Well need you to make some deliveries later, Wang had to leave early today said Sue. No problem replies Arious. Arious looks at a pile of dishes in the sink. The majority are from the customers that sit in the front of the restaurant, where there are only four tables. Arious turns on a small black and white portable television that he watches while doing the dishes. Arious tunes into the Subway City News, which is hosted by a male and female anchor. Good evening New York. Im David Alverado says David. And Im Nora Ortiz says Nora.

Welcome to the Subway City News! they say simultaneously. As Arious watches, the camera focuses on David. New York City was ravaged by the Crack epidemic in the eighties, now, New York City deals with the emergence of a drug known as Ying Yang says David. The television shows someone holding a small plastic packet with a mixture of white and black crystals. The package is small and fits into the palm of the hand. It is turned over and there is a Ying Yang symbol on the packet. The high potency drug which delivers an addictive high which proves to be fatal if taken in large quantities says David. The television then shows the police on a crime scene and several Chinese drug users being carried out on stretchers. Mayor Maynard has appointed a special task force to stop this epidemic before it spreads says David. The television camera then shows Nora Ortiz. In other news, police in Chinatown have been baffled by another report of grave robbing. This is the third time in the last month, where a grave has been robbed. The corpse completely removed. Locals in Chinatown have linked the theft to witchcraft and sorcery, saying that this was a common practice known as Soul Stealing, which is an ancient form of Chinese witchcraft says Nora. The television shows the two anchors together. Soul Stealing huh? I wish someone would give the Knicks a soul! says David, as both anchors start to laugh. At that very instant, Meng is in his apartment, watching the same news program. He turns off the television with his remote. He stands and walks towards the window. He closes his eyes, and meditates. He is concerned about the news of Soul Stealing in New York City. He wonders if he correct about certain assumptions. He hopes that he was wrong. For he like myself, know the story of the Soul Stealers, well.

Chapter 5 Mr. Lo stands inside of Tony Jais office. The office is well furnished, with a black marble desk, and a leather chair. The carpet and walls are a light grey. On a wall there is a flat screen television. The door that leads to the office is rested on a platform. There are several stairs. The large office has windows on two sides. On one side, windows face Manhattan. On the other side, there are tinted windows facing the club, known as Sin, which the Jai family owns and Tony runs. Its basically a front for their other businesses. Mr. Lo looks at the city lights, and he replays the days incidents over in his mind. He is almost certain that the movements that he saw, were reminiscent of another person who he had encounters with in China. Mr. Lo is very concerned. Tony Jai walks into the office. Mr. Lo I want to apologize for this afternoon. This is the problem that weve been dealing with says Jai, looking for sympathy from Mr. Lo since he has seen the attacker first hand. Mr. Lo doesnt say anything. He keeps looking outside the window. Tony wonders if Mr. Lo is upset with him. Tony, what have you done to remedy this problem? ask Mr. Lo. As you see, it isnt that easy. This guy just pops up out of nowhere says Tony, who is interrupted by Mr. Lo who says And youve done nothing! Mr. Lo turns and looks at Tony. The stern look on his face, expresses his discomfort. Tony, your father, sent me here to deal with these problems. For years, Ive always thought that you were too immature to handle the responsibility of running your own operation. The additional responsibility of Ying-Yang and its production must not have any interference! says Mr. Lo. Mr. Lo, Im doing everything I can to ensure that production runs smoothly says Tony. Mr. Lo turns back towards the window. Your problem concerns me thought says Mr. Lo. You think he is a cop? ask Tony. Please. Obviously something else. I am interested in this problem of yours. It was something that he said. Its what he called himself says Mr. Lo. What? Masternever? ask Tony. Mr. Lo turns back towards Tony. Yes, Masternever, I wonder if he meant something else says Mr. Lo. Mr. Lo then looks outside of the window. If he means what I think he means, and he is who I think he is, then were going to have to fight another type of fight. says Mr. Lo.

Tony is confused. For having been raised in the United States, he was never taught about the legacy of the Neverending Masters. Youre very correct Mr. Lo! says a voice from the far dark corner of the room. The entire time, Mr. Lo and Mr. Jai were being watched. In fact, this was not a chance meeting. For Lin Shantou, the Soul Stealer had been waiting to execute his strategy for weeks. Tony reaches for the small .38 caliber gun that he carries. He points it toward the dark corner. Mr. Lo looks on with curiosity, while Tony is sure that Masternever is in the room! Who said that? Show yourself! says Mr. Lo. The person you seek is no mere mortal. Rather, a special warrior says Lin Shantou, who remains in the darkness. Mr. Lo walks towards the center of the room. He motions for Tony to lower his weapon. Tony obeys, but is still concerned. Mr. Lo realizes that the high pitched shrieking voice he hears is not the one he heard earlier at the restaurant. To engage the intruder, Mr. Lo speaks. You speak of the legendary myth of the Neverending Masters? Out of the darkness emerges a force of evil, a wizard who has plagued the Neverending Masters for years, since he left the Buddhist sect know as The World of the Shadow. From the darkness, steps Lin Shantou, The Soul Stealer! Lin wears a black robe. Lin at the time of this writing was over two hundred years old. His skin was wrinkled heavily and withered. His hair is in a queue, with long gold streaks. His teeth are green and speak on his foul breath. He has long fingernails, which have a yellowish tint to them. Mr. Lo and Tony Jai, look at him with disgust. It isnt a myth. The Neverending Master is real, and he is here in New York City. Your bullets and pathetic men are useless against him. However, I can help you get rid of him For a small price says Lin. Mr. Lo realizes that he may have found an ally, and is willing to hear anything that will help him. What would that be? asks Mr. Lo. I only want his body. I will help you kill him, but I must have his body once he is dead replies Lin Shantou. What kind of foul sorcery are you involved in? asks Mr. Lo.

Lin Shantou laughs; he sees his plan coming into fruition. Finally after almost two hundred years, he will have another opportunity of obtaining the power of the Neverending Masters.

Chapter 6 Arious felt that the best way to find Majid was to get help deciphering the scroll. When he looked at the characters on the scroll, he thought that the writing looked like Chinese characters and he also felt that the script looked like graffiti writing. He knew of a calligraphy store in Chinatown and thought that the shop owner would be a good resource. Arious traveled to the store, on his skateboard. He was skeptical about sharing the scroll with a stranger, but he needed some help. The calligraphers store is nameless. Arious picks up his skateboard and walks inside and there are several desks with expensive Chinese books. There are a number of paintings that display the calligraphers work. At the counter, the calligrapher Ling sits reading a newspaper. Ling is a Chinese man with black hair, with hints of grey. He wears glasses and is dresses comfortably in a blue collared shirt. Ling doesnt pay much mind to Arious. Behind the counter where Ling sits is his son Xai. Xai is polishing the brass legs of an antique chair. Hes a Chinese kid, not more that seventeen. He looks at Arious momentarily, and continues with his cleaning. Arious steps forward cautiously Sir, are you Ling? I called you earlier says Arious. Ling puts down the paper and looks at Arious with skepticism. He was always interested in Chinese artifacts. On many occasions, valuables have been bought in and he has been able to sell these for a handsome profit. Ah yes! Youre the young man who has something to sell. What was it again? ask Lin. He was trying to play the role of the unintelligent one, to trick the young master into parting with his valuables. Well, Im not selling anything. I wanted to know if you could look at a document for me says Arious, with a sense of suspicion. Well, I can look at it if you like replies Ling. Arious then takes out the Scroll of the Masters from his book bag and places it on the counter. Ling is taken aback by the beautiful scroll. He has never seen such beautiful writing. Xai, come look at this says Ling. Xai comes over and stands next to his father. The two of them look at the scroll. Xai had seen many expensive items come into the store. Even though his knowledge of antiques did not rival his fathers, even he was impressed with the scroll. He looked at the artifact and wondered what Arious was doing with it. Ling could not stop looking at it. For he knew that by the quality of the scroll and the characters that this document was authentic and rare. He wanted it.

I have never seen the likes of this. How much do you want for it? asks Ling, hoping that he could send the young man on his way for less than a hundred. It isnt for sale. I know that you specialize in calligraphy. I was hoping that you could tell me what it said says Arious. These arent traditional Chinese characters. Ill tell you what Ill do, you leave the scroll with me for a few days and I will have an answer said Ling. Arious sensed something wrong. The look on Xais face, which spelled deception, told him that neither could truly be trusted. I cant do that says Arious. Ling did not want Arious to leave, so he thought of anything to get the young man to stay, or to return when he was fully prepared. Fine, come back in a day or two and I will have someone here to assist you says Ling. Arious studies Lings face closely. He senses deception behind the frames of the calligrapher. No thank you, it was nice meeting you sir says Arious. Arious quickly and carefully removes the scroll from the counter. He starts walking toward the entrance. He feels like he made a big mistake by even bringing the scroll to the calligrapher in the first place. As he walks out, he looks back over his shoulder. Xai and Ling are whispering and as soon as they notice Arious looking at them, they stop talking. Arious rides on his skateboard. He thinks to himself, who else could he get help from. He had tried the traditional route. He sensed that the calligrapher did not know how to decipher the scroll, but wanted it for himself. Then it came to him. Since the characters on the scroll looked like graffiti writing. Why not ask a graffiti writer? he thought. He knew of one knowledgeable person who knew all there was about graffiti. He would then seek a legend of old.

Chapter 7 Arious hadnt frequented The Streets store as much since he graduated high school. While in school, he would meet up with other skateboarders and graff writers at the store. The Streets is a skateboard and art shop located in Soho. Much of the art material is for graffiti writers. Since the disintegration of the great benches, writers needed new places to meet. The store was run by Legend. A true prophet of the streets, who at the time of this writing was forty three years of age. Like many of the other great writing prophets of the city, Legend was a man from the land of Puerto Rico. Six feet in height, with a stocky build and tattoos on his arms, he was an imposing figure. But, to the writers and skateboarders, he was more like an older brother. Imparting street wisdom, or giving deals to kids who didnt always have money for the boards they wanted and even turning a blind eye to the kids who racked material. As usual, there are a number of young ones outside showing off their new boards and performing tricks on the side walk. Arious bypasses them and walks into the store. The store has a mixture of supplies and boards places on separate kiosks. Legend is at the back of the store, writing in his notebook at the time. Legend looks up and stops writing. He is surprised to see Arious. Oh shit! Havent seen you in a minute. You still writing? asks Legend. Here and there replies Arious. I havent been doing to much lately replies Arious. I here you. I had to tone it down a bit myself. I got another kid on the way says Legend. Oh word, thats wassup says Arious. Legend, let me ask you about something says Arious. Legend could sense the seriousness in Ariouss voice. He was use to providing wisdom to the younger ones. Arious takes the scroll out of his bag and places it on the counter. What do you think about this? ask Arious. Legend is deeply interested in the scroll. It almost hypnotizes him. For he well knew that a master writer had created and forged the document. He quickly discards his cigarette, fearing that the ashes would burn the delicate scroll. To have a better look, he turns on a lamp that hangs over the counter. Damn you did this? ask Legend. Nah have you ever seen anything like this? asks Arious. This shit is kinda crazy. Kung Fu graff! I like it says Legend. Youve never seen anything like this? asks Arious. Legend takes a moment to think. For it had been many years since I publicly wrote. Much of my writing was spread through out the city, when looking for Meng. I havent seen anything like this in years man. There was this one writer I knew of who wrote like this replied Legend. For the weed had clouded his vision and memory.

What was that kids nameMagic? said Legend, who steps back and then places his hands on his chin. Masternever looks at him, hoping that he will remember. Yeah, this kid was named Majid! said Legend. I never met him though. He use to be in some crazy ass spots. Come to think of it, the last time I saw anything like this had to be a few years ago. In fact, I remember where. I was with my man Flight from Brooklyn, during the blackout. We were in the tunnels near the old Worth Street station says Legend. Worth street station? ask Arious. As a resident of Chinatown, he knew of the street, but never heard of the station. Yeah it closed in the sixties. Its pretty creepy down there. Its between Canal Street and the Brooklyn Bridge six line says Legend. But you never saw him? ask Arious. Nah, like I said, I remember seeing this stuff near there. He wrote Majid and use to have a bunch of crazy Chinese characters around his work. Characters that looked like the stuff you have here! Thats what I remember about his writing style and that was the last time I seen it Why wassup? You working for the NYPD now? said Legend, with a tone of humor. Youre crazy funny replied Masternever. The two give each other a pound and Arious walks out of the store. Legend returns to his writing. With Arious, Legend had, as he did with many other young men and women, provided direction and an answer to a question that needed answering. Arious and I would soon meet in the depths of the city.

Chapter 8 It had been almost two years since Masternever had entered the tunnels. A trade that was taught to him by fellow graffiti writers while he was still in high school. He would venture into the tunnels through the Brooklyn Bridge train station entrance at this time. As usual, the station is empty at two oclock in the morning. That is the only safe time to traverse the tunnels. Most writers do so, to avoid the police, and there is less train traffic. Masternever walks down the stairs and looks down the train platform. Except for a homeless person sleeping on a bench at the far end, the station is empty. Masternever walks to the end of the train platform, and looks into the dark and damp tunnel. He takes his flashlight out of his bag, and shines it into the tunnel. The light provides little consolation for Masternever. He jumps off the platform, and starts walking. He turns down the volume on his iPod as he walks between the tracks. The tunnel is damp and cold. As Masternever walks, he notices the faded graffiti tags on the walls. He suddenly hears the sound of a train and looks to the opposite side. An oncoming six train passes, going in the opposite direction. The train is moving very fast, and he thinks about were he will go if a train comes from behind. He thinks about how he and his friends from high school would stand between the columns. He briefly thinks about several transit workers who had died while traversing the tracks. He hears the sound of the train again. This time he knows its behind him. He feels the wind that precedes each train. He moves to a column that separates the uptown and downtown tracks. The train starts to pass. Masternever breathes heavily, as he leans on the column. The train passes. Masternever starts walking on the tracks again. He now walks a bit faster. The worst part of his journey is over he feels. As he walks down the tunnel, he starts seeing writing on the walls that resemble the scroll. The writing is a mixture of red and white characters, that does not appear faded like the rest of the writing. He walks until he sees an opening like that of a subway platform. He shines the light in the opening, which resembles a station in its shape. He sees some old rails and benches. The area is completely covered in graffiti. He hops up onto the platform and sees a sign that says Worth Street Station. He is relieved. He sees more of the writing and feels that he is in the correct place. Using his flashlight he looks at the various pieces on the wall. He comes to a large piece that I had written years ago. The piece, in a bold red, yellow and white surrounded by characters that he could not read, announced my name. The pieces read MAJID. Majid says Masternever. He looks around and doesnt see much on the platform. He shines the light in one corner and a number of rats scatter. He decides to check out the other side of the platform. Even with his flashlight he cant see across the other side.

Masternever jumps off the platform, and carefully crosses the tracks. He steps up onto the platform. This platform is completely covered in my work. The entire platform is covered in a beautiful, and bold display of red, white, orange and yellow. Masternever steps forward, and sees a door in the back of the old station. The door is covered in bright red and it has light emitting from the bottom and the sides. He sees the strange characters that surround the door. Masternever places his hands on the door and becomes nervous. The doorknob isnt locked. His heart races as he turns the knob. For he knew that he was entering the domain of Majid.

Chapter 9 When Masternever opens the door, he is temporarily blinded by the brightness. It takes a few seconds for his eyes to adjust. Once inside, he turns off his flashlight, and closes the door behind him. The room is lit with several torches. He looks at the amazing graff pieces on the walls. He realizes that this is the work of a master writer. He then walks to a balcony, and looks below. He sees a squared, spiral staircase, that extends several floors below. Masternever is in awe of the artwork. He thinks about the form and the delicate precision in each piece. The pieces on the walls, consists of graffiti and the Chinese graffiti characters from the scroll. As he walks, he comes across portraits. He realizes that the portraits he sees are masters who are pictured on the scroll. He continues, until he makes his way towards the final set of stairs. Once at the bottom he sees a small hallway, and at the end of the hallway is another room, well lit with torches on each side of the entrance. As he gets closer to the room, he feels nervous, but excited. He then sees a portrait of Meng before he enters the chamber. Meng is performing The Fist of the Wind technique. Masternever now sees another portrait and he is overcome with fear. The portrait is of himself, walking in the tunnel with a flashlight. How could this be? he thinks to himself. Masternever prepares to walk through the entrance. He removes the white earplugs from his head, and turns off his iPod. Once inside, Masternever takes a few moments to review the layout. The inner chamber is immaculate and the graff pieces on the walls are of the most brilliant and vibrant colors. Masternever has already concluded that this is the best work he has ever seen. As he looks around he sees hundreds of cans of spray paint, in all colors. In humor, Masternever says This kid is crazy! Who are you to judge me? I said. Although I knew who he was, I wanted to keep my location a secret, so I would have a chance to observe him and test him. After all, just because someone has been appointed does not mean that they are worthy to be added to the scroll! Masternever looked around the room and saw no one. The voice appeared to come from every side of him. He was haunted by the eerie tone. Majid, is that you? asks Masternever.

Masternever then started walking to a section of the room that resembled a study. I then stepped into the doorway behind him. He did not see me and was concentrating on the study area. There is a wooden desk, with several cans of spray paint, fountain pens, markers and scrolls. There is a wooden chair completely covered with graffiti. On the desk, there are also a number of scrolls. Masternever then looks at two shelves next to the desk, which include a number of scrolls. On top of the desk there is a small statue of Guan Yu. Masternever places his flashlight and his iPod on the table. He then picks up a scroll from the table. How dare you! I say to him. Masternever turns around and we make eye contact for the first time. I stand before him with hood, to protect my identity. Before he can say anything I attack him several times. On each instance, Masternever blocks my attacks. For I was more interested in testing his courage than his fighting ability. Masternever isnt sure if the person standing before him is Majid. How can this be Majid? he thinks to himself. What right have you to touch that document? What have you to come into this place? I say in my most ominous tone! Please, wait, I need your help. I was told to seek you out. Youre Majid arent you? Masternever asks. I can sense that he is not afraid, but curious as to who I am. I am impressed with his boldness and the conviction in his tone. Never the less, I must test his temperance and his will to restrain himself. I charge again! He blocks and then says Majid I have been sent here by Meng. He looks at me as I stand still. He then takes the scroll of the Masters out of his bag. I am overcome with joy. He has taken the first step, as other Masters have taken in the past. I think to myself will he add his name to the legacy? He said you would help me with this says Masternever as he holds the scroll in front of him. I remove my hood. To the human eye, I have the whitest hair, which I have dreaded years ago. I keep my face clear of facial hair. Im much shorter than Masternever, standing at four feet and five inches. He spends time studying my Chinese features and the white hair that protrudes from my ears. He then looks at my white eyebrows. His observations lead him to my arms, which have been covered with layers of spray paint. Layers that I have never removed after years of writing. I walk towards him and place my arms on his shoulders. Welcome, I have been waiting some time for you. I knew you would come soon. My visions were getting stronger and clearer I say. I take the scroll from his hand and walk toward my desk. It has been years since I gave the scroll to Meng.

What visions are you talking about? asks Masternever. Do you know why Meng has sent you to me? I ask. I wanted to see if he truly understood the importance of the grand scroll. Since the inception of the Neverending Masters, I have served as its chronicler. Ive recorded all of the works, and the trials of each master. Working with each master, guiding them and providing them with a style. For they have always battled evil, protected the weak, and provided for their fellow man. Protectors and guardians I say as I look at the contents of the scroll. I become excited when I think about each of the masters that I have helped along during the years. I am filled with the greatest pride, the greatest joy! Each master has contributed to the legacy with their own style I say. Masternever was confused about my role in the legacy of the Neverending Masters. I thought you provided the masters with their style. Meng told me that you were the Style Master he says. I am the Style Master! I provide each master with a style that can only be used by him or another Neverending Master! Never mastered or learned by a human being! I say. So what style are you going to give me? asks Masternever. I focus my attention towards the scroll. I think briefly of giving the past masters their styles. I do not know yet. I can only give you a style based on what I know of you. My visions are still unclear and still very clouded I say. For the visions that I had about his style were unlike any other. Well when will you know he asked desperately. To test his patience, I replied It is too early to say. I need more time. Weve just met! How long does it normally take? asks Masternever. It depends on what I know about the master, and what the master contributes. I reply. Like others who came before him, he assumed that a style would be given to him, without any effort. What do you intend on contributing to the legacy of the Neverending Masters Arious? I ask. He was surprised that I knew his name. A name that had reached me in a vision. I was amused at his facial expression, so to humor myself, I decided to repeat the name that he had given himself. The name that would restore the great city to its former glory.

Or should I say, Masternever! I said. Masternever then begins to doubt himself. I really havent given it much thought. I thought that was the reason I was coming to you he said. I then close my eyes, while I stand before him. I think of past masters. All of the former masters have received styles that were formed with something personal to themthe visions that I have of you are cloudy. It is still hard for me to see. I say. Frustrated, tired and confused his response is like that of those before him, saying This doesnt make any sense! You are only beginning to understand the importance of your power. In time you will come to understand more. Aside from Mengs style, what others have you learned? I say. Ive tried a few, but I havent mastered any but The Fist of the Wind he replied. It became quite clear that although he had the necessary tools, he still needed to be matured in the knowledge of the scroll. Then youre not taking full advantage of the gift. Guan Yu created the legacy so that each master would learn from the next. In your mental training, do you not see other masters? I ask. Yes, but often I have a hard time repeating what I see he says. Follow me I say. We then walk to a far corner in the large room. We stand before a large portrait that I completed in a vision. In the picture, there are four men who engage Masternever in battle, in an enclosed area. The three men are Chinese and they stand behind a Chinese man who wears a white suit. He has large thick eyebrows, a long white beard and mustache, and he has a frazzle head of air. The mans facial expression and smile have a sinister quality to them. Masternever sees himself and realizes that he will meet these men in battle soon. He becomes fearful; he senses that this person is a powerful fighter. Who who is he? ask Masternever with a sense of fear. I do not know his name. I have seen visions of his evil presence. He is a powerful fighter. He will cause pain to you and those that you love I reply, regretting that I had to provide him with this information. I then walk to another portrait. Masternever followed. I looked at him and sensed that he was overcome with dread. The piece showed a man standing in a dark and gloomy location. The man has green teeth and a long queue. His eyes are bloodshot red, and blood appears to be coming from his mouth. He holds a piece of flesh in his hands. At his feet, a number of dismembered bodies lie in a pool of blood. Who is he? ask Masternever.

I was overcome with guilt. I felt that the young man could not possibly understand the evil being presented before him. That is an evil sorcerer, named Lin Shantou. He is an evil wizard who steals souls I reply. Masternever realizes that this is the one who he has heard of, the great Soul Stealer! Hoping that he could avoid dealings with him, Masternever asks What does he have to do with me? He uses his evil magic to capture the souls of men. He also can manipulate the souls of the dead. He is the one who lives in harmony with Yan Lou. His goal is to capture a particular soul I reply. I concentrate on the young Master. He is silent, for he knows that the Soul Stealer is after him. He steps backwards, almost in retreat. I talk to him, telling him of what I know. I became aware of his evil presence many years ago, while still in China I say. How do you know he is here? ask Masternever. I have seen his evil presence in my visions. He has been stealing souls again. In time, very soon, he will attempt to steal your soul. He has traveled a great distance to find you here. I say. What will happen to me? ask Masternever. Unfortunately, I could not interpret the vision. I could not determine the outcome. For it is written in the heavens! There is much I cant see at this time I reply. Overwhelmed and concerned, Masternever remembers his reason for venturing to the layer. Hoping that the scroll would provide the answers to defeat his foes. And the scroll? Will you help me read it? I dont understand these crazy graffiti characters he says. I walk towards the desk where the scroll lays. I was truly amused by his reference to my style of writing. The scroll is written in the heavens. What you see there or what you refer to as graffiti is an ancient form of writing, created before I walked the earth. It has no maker, for it has always existed. The Forgotten Hand is the style of the Neverending Masters. When Meng and I arrived here many years ago, we were disconnected. He left for this land years before I did. I traveled here and did not know how to find him. I used the Forgotten Hand to communicate with him through the greys. My message was hidden along with the rest of the great prophets of the city. I knew that he would recognize the style. The greys took my messages throughout the city. I knew that he would receive my messages and eventually find me. Just as you have. In time, Masternever, you will learn how to write this language I say.

Masternever had a hard time believing what he was told. In time? How am I supposed to learn from the scroll if I cant read it? he asks. I was suddenly overcome with a vision, it was muddled and blurry, I needed time to write, only then would I be able to help him. Remember the scroll is written in the heavens I say. There is much I cannot see. Not at this time. The next time you return, I will be able to provide you with more, yes much more. I have much work to do now I say. I pick up two of my favorite colored cans, and head for my desk. My visions will only be interpreted though my writing. How will I find these people? he asks. When you return, perhaps my vision will be complete I reply. I then grab a blank scroll and begin writing, fully interpreting the scroll. Masternever stands at the wall and looks at the scrolls. He feels that the situation is hopeless. He is overcome with fear and anger. Why should he have to deal with such a great task? When should I return? he asks. I was overcome by the vision. I took my two cans of paint and headed to an open area on the layer wall. I needed time to work on the vision. Later, I need more time to complete my vision. More time to work. I respond. Masternever then heads towards the desk and places the Scroll of the Masters and his flashlight in my book bag. He then walks toward the layer entrance and leaves, feeling a great deal of hopelessness. While painting, I was removed from the vision and noticed an article left on my desk by Masternever. For he had inadvertently provided me an item that had been seen in my vision, but could not be interpreted by myself. I walk to the desk, and pick up the white device. I do not know its function. I press the circular button and suddenly a light comes on. It is similar to the light that is suddenly lit inside of myself. Ah! I exhale. I am overwhelmed with joy at finding the missing element to the vision. I press the button again, and suddenly the device produces music from the long strings. I realized then, that the vision was true!

Chapter 10 At club Sin, Mr. Lo sits at Tony Jais desk. Tony stands in front of the desk and speaks to someone on the phone. Mr. Lo hopes that the call will be successful. Tony hangs the phone up on the desk receiver. The appointment has been made. Are you sure you need to see this guy? asks Tony. Mr. Lo is growing tired of Tony. He continues to second guess me he thinks to himself. This is no ordinary battle says Mr. Lo. Mr. Lo walks to the window so he can think. He looks at the lights of the city and thinks about the entire situation. Even he doubts sometimes, but how can he when he has seen the Neverending Master in action himself? As usual, Tony has nothing intelligent to add to the conversation. He thinks not of the legacy, and does not have an answer. Witchcraft, sorcery, its all a bunch of mumbo jumbo! says Tony. Perhaps replies Mr. Lo. His response was more made to discontinue conversation with the foolish one. Thinking that he is wise and he will impress Mr. Lo, Tony says I have bought in someone to deal with our problem! Mr. Lo knows that whatever Tony is doing will be a vein effort and possibly create a situation with the local officials. He does not bother looking at Jai. You may leave now says Mr. Lo, forcing the young Jai out of his own office.

Chapter 11 The subway car moves quickly through the tunnels of the deep. Masternever sits in the train, leaning his head back against the car wall, with his eyes closed. He is frustrated and wishing that he did not have the tremendous burden that he carries. The car is half empty. There are a mixture people from various races. Masternever then sits up and takes the scroll out of his bag. He exhales, and then closes his eyes and meditates. In a short vision, he sees past masters. The vision is blurry, and he can barely make them out. He sees blackness, and a shadowy vision of masters, one at a time. The masters wear a variety of clothing and they practice their movies. It is hard to see their faces. He suddenly sees himself performing the moves. His vision is disturbed by an announcement from the train operator. The next stop on this train is Canal Street The subway doors close and the train starts moving. Masternever reviews the contents of the scroll while he sits in his chair. Suddenly two Chinese men enter from both doors on the ends of the car. The men are in their late thirties and they are unkempt. Their plaid collared shirts have not been pressed. Their jeans are dirty and torn. They both have book bags and they carry bootleg DVDs. They slowly start to walk toward the center of the car where Masternever is sitting. The two men advertise their products. DVD, DVD they say a number of times in succession. Masternever feels that something is wrong. He can hear the men coming from both sides. He thinks to himself Assassins!. After all, this wouldnt be the first time assassins attempted to attack him. He continues to look at the scroll. The men continue to walk slowly showing their bootleg DVDs to the passengers. One passenger is interested and says Yo, let me take a look at that. The man continues walking. The passenger seems to be unphased and continues watching his own portable DVD player. Masternever then searches his pockets. He then realizes that he has left his music recording device. He shakes his head, upset at the fact that he would be so careless. Masternever then puts the scroll in his book bag. The two men continue towards the center. They are close to Masternever. The train comes to a stop at Canal Street. A beautiful young woman with auburn skin and locked hair, much like my own, smiles at Masternever from her chair. Masternever looks at her, and smiles back. Who knows what might have been, for the subway assassins would dictate Masternevers destiny on this night. The doors open. Both men nod at one another, and they simultaneously attack Masternever with butterfly swords, which they reveal from their undergarments. The passengers leave the train. Masternever rolls on the floor. The doors close.

The next stop on this train is Spring Street says the train operator. The train starts to move and the lights flicker. Masternever gains his composure and then realizes that he can use the flashing lights to subdue his enemies. He uses the Fist of the Wind technique. Each time the light flickers, he is in a different position. His enemies are bewildered. Hes behind, front, below, between and everywhere. They cannot seem to catch him. The lights stop flickering. Masternever kicks the first attacker to the floor. The man goes crashing to the ground. The second attacker charges. Masternever takes the mans swords from him. The second attacker becomes fearful without his weapons. He takes out an explosive from his back pocket. Masternever is fearful of the device, and wonders what the attackers next move would be. The second attacker throws the explosive at the window. Masternever falls back onto the car chair. When he falls, his book bag is opened. The scroll and several menus from the restaurant fall out. The two men jump out of the window. As the train comes to a stop at Spring Street, Masternever puts the scroll back in his book bag. He briefly looks out the window where the hole is made. He realizes that he must leave immediately! As he exits the car, a group of passengers look at the hole and then look at Masternever. He quickly exits the station. On any other day, when an attempt was made on his life, hed retaliate. However, on this day, he was consumed with the task ahead.

Chapter 12 In the foul depths of the city, the Soul Stealers plan was coming into fruition. Mr. Lo, Tony Jai, and three body guards have been directed to Lin Shantous temple by way of an abandoned storage facility in Chinatown. None of the men knew what they were in store for. After descending several levels, they reach the lowest level of the sewer, as directed by Lin Shantou. The odor is foul, and repugnant. The air smells of one thousand deaths in an instant. The level is dark and lit by torches that hang along the walls. Standing in the dark tunnel, Mr. Jai becomes started. He nervously asks Which way do we go? The reply comes from the dark tunnel in front of them. A mixture of high pitched screams of agony, followed by a chilling laugh. Mr. Lo sensed that they had successfully reached the layer of the Soul Stealer. He wasnt sure what to expect, but if the myth is true, he knows that hell need more than bullets. Like many men from China, gangster or not, he still was a firm believer in the myths of old. The men walk along the damp and musty corridor. Tony and the three bodyguards cover their mouths. They are repulsed by the foul odor, which smells of rotting corpses. The men cough. Only Mr. Lo walks ahead, not minding the odor. He isn't fazed by the smell. In fact he invites it. He believes that anyone who could tolerate this stench, has empowered themselves with something. The small tunnel ends in a large underground corridor. In the corridor there is on old facility room. It is large and squared. For in its day, it was used as an incinerator. The Soul Stealer had turned the facility room into a temple of evil. He adorned the outside of the temple with gargoyles and skeletons of the tombs he had recently robbed. Even Mr. Lo, was horrified at the sight, but he insisted that the group continue further saying Lets go. When they walk into the large facility room, they see a large altar and a statue. Only Mr. Lo realizes that the statue is of the God of the dead, Yan Lou. He steps forward and touches the statue that is half the size of a man. Yan Lou says Mr. Lo. That is correct Mr. Lo replies Lin Shantou. Lin emerges from a column that is located in the room. He surprises Tony, and the three bodyguards. Mr. Lo steps forward and looks at Lins face. Lins face is greasy, and he has blood on the side of his cheek. You have shown true faith and courage Mr. Lo! says Lin. Were here as you requested sorcerer. You agreed to show us how to beat this master. Now what must we do? asks Mr. Lo. Sensing desperation in Mr. Los voice, Tony makes another plea saying Look, Mr. Lo, we dont need him!

The three bodyguards say nothing. They stand behind Mr. Lo and Tony, hoping that they may leave. Your methods have all failed. This is the only option I think we have says Mr. Lo. Pointing towards Tony, who is instantly overcome with fear, Lin says You fool. You will soon pay for your insolence! The Soul Stealer then turns towards Mr. Lo. What else do you know of this master? asks Lin. Only what Ive heard from a story teller who lived in my village. I never believed until replies Mr. Lo as his mind drifts off and he thinks of the first time he saw what he believed to be a Neverending Master. Until what? asks Lin. Until I saw someone in Shanghai a few years ago replies Mr. Lo. Mr. Lo thinks back to years ago, in Shanghai. As a young man, who was new to organized crime, he remembers the scene well. He sat at a table, behind a group of older Chinese men. All of whom are dressed in suits. All of the men have their guns drawn. The man standing in front of them was none other than Meng. He wore a straw hat and a black cape. He remembers the way Meng moved. He avoided the bullets, disappearing and reappearing. Quiet and effortlessly. I remember a man who wore a cape and straw hat. He moved using stealth, avoiding bullets. I never saw his face, but the way he moved says Mr. Lo. Lin knew exactly whom, Mr. Lo spoke of, and he was certain that Mr. Lo would be the tool he needed in dispatching the Neverending Master. The person you saw was indeed the Neverending Master. However, a new Neverending Master has been appointed! says Lin. Mr. Lo realizes why this makes sense. The person who he saw in the restaurant was not the same he saw years ago in China. Yet, he had the same skills. Learning that a new appointment had been made, Mr. Lo focused even more of the following words from the Soul Stealer. The current Neverending Master is here in this city! Over the past two years, Ive studied the events, and rumors about him. I, like yourself, realized that a new master had been appointedTo beat him, I must anoint you and your men says Lin. How much will this cost us sorcerer ask Mr. Lo. For he had expected some monetary value to be associated with the deal. As a business man, he was use to negotiating. The only thing that I require is the dead body of this master, once you have killed him! says Lin.

Considering this to be a small price for the defeat of his new adversary, Mr. Lo promptly responds saying, Agreed! Feeling that his plan was near completion, the Soul Stealer could hardly contain himself. He then said Excellent. Now let us begin!

Chapter 13 At the train station, both Judi and Gavin recently arrive on the scene of a car that is the subject of investigation. While walking on the platform towards the car, they pass a number of transit workers, and police officers who inspect the scene. Judi thinks on the report they heard on the way over. An older, White male detective named Richie Bantana, stops them before they enter the car. Hey Gav Judes. I would have taken this, but I thought you guys would want to get on this ASAP says Bantana. What do you have for us Rich? asks Judi. He looks at the two of them and then motions, with his head for them to step to the side of the platform. Before he speaks, he makes sure that no one else can hear him. Okay, here it is again. The guy you two have been afterthe Black guy. Okay, well, he was attacked on the train by two men with swords. The train arrives here, he leaves the scene and there are no sightings of the attackers. I have my men out on the tracks looking for clues now. I know this will be handed over to you, so Ill let you handle it says Bantana. Thanks Rich! says Gavin as the two walk onto the train. A plain clothes officer hands Gavin a police report. He starts reading it. Judi steps onto the car and starts looking around. Okay, witnesses from Canal and Spring street say that a young Black male was seen fighting with two Asian men who had swords says Gavin. Judi is looking at the broken window. She notices that there was some type of explosion, by the opening and the damage done. Okay, Im done with Chinatown! Soul Stealing, lethal drugs, subway Shaolin and we got some kid who thinks hes some type of superhero I sure hope he has the glow! says Gavin. Judi and Gavin look at one another and both laugh. After the brief dose of humor, Judi focuses her attention on a roll of menus that lay on the floor. She picks up the roll and removes the rubber band. The menu reads Yungs Kitchen. Judi knows the place well, and has often disregarded it. She shows the menu to Gavin. Gavin shakes his head, for he silently agrees. The menus belong to the attackers or to the one who had eluded them for some time. They felt that this might be the clue that they needed. This time, they were correct!

Chapter 14 Ariouss bedroom was the mixture of several cultures. His world, consisted of prophetic messages from music, his art was the faith of the city and there was the influence of his parents, who raised him as though he was Chinese, from youth. A moderate sized room, not fancy, consisting of a television, night table, futon bed and a desk where he keeps a computer. Arious takes the scroll out of his backpack, and places it on his night table. The scroll sits next to a picture of Yung, Sue, and his birth mother. The photo is faded, and appears to be from the years before the Style Wars. Arious looks at the photo of his mother, and then focuses his attention on the scroll. Arious removes his clothing, and gets into his bed. Its been a long night, and he is tired. A mixture of things run through his mind. He turns out the lamp, that sits on his desk. He drifts off into sleep, and he starts to have the visions that are associated with each Neverending Master. He sees cloudy and hazed images of previous Neverending Masters. He then sees an image of Meng. The image is clear, but Meng appears to be in pain. He looks as though he will cry. Then, I appear to him. I do not speak, but I guide him towards the image in the layer. The adversary who he will soon meet, and then, I guide him towards the Soul Stealer. He looks at the image for a while and he is overcome with fear. He awakens from his sleep. For he knows well, that he will be faced with a great task in the days to come.

Chapter 15 Lin Shantou could barely contain his excitement. For he had executed his plan with such precision. His alliance with one of the most powerful families in New York City would ensure that the Neverending Master would fall. He specifically requested that Mr. Lo, bring along three of his most competent and capable men. They too, would play a great role in the plan of Lin Shantou. Mr. Lo and the three men sit on there knees, before the statue of Yan Lou. Lin Shantou has provided each of the men with an amulet. The amulets are made of a rusted metal, with a chain connected to it. While the Soul Stealer prepares the altar for the ritual, Mr. Lo is curious about the name inscribed onto the amulet. A name that would soon be of great importance to him, and Masternever. To use the power of a famed name of old, that was the goal of the Soul Stealer. Mr. Los concentration is broken by the muffled sound of one of the four Chinese men who hang over the altar. The men are all naked, battered and bruised. No doubt, these were the poor ones who had provided the sounds, which guided Mr. Lo into the world of Lin Shantou. Each of the men is gagged with a metal chain. Tony Jai can barely contain himself. He stands at the entrance of the facility room. He wondered briefly why he was not invited to participate in the ritual. However, he doesnt really care; he wants nothing to do with Lin Shantou. Lin Shantou has adorned himself with special dress for the occasion. He wears a red robe with silver lining. He passes a goblet made of black glass, to Mr. Lo. Mr. Lo looks at the contents and there is clotted, thick blood. Mr. Lo cant actually believe that he is drinking blood. Lin revels in the glory of his plan. He stares at Mr. Lo with a sinister and devilish smile. Mr. Lo takes a sip and he has a hard time containing himself as he is overwhelmed by nausea. He continues drinking more. The others too says Lin. Mr. Lo passes the goblet back to the three men behind him. The henchman refuses to drink initially. Mr. Lo looks back at him, suggesting that if he did not participate, that his own life would be in jeopardy. The henchman drinks as do the two others. Their reactions are like Mr. Los. Mr. Lo thought that the ritual was over. He didnt realize that he had just partaken of the first stage of the ritual. Lin Shantou returns the goblet to the resting place on the altar. For he laughs to himself. He then ignites the incinerator which is located in the room. He then takes the goblet and throws the remaining blood onto the altar. This ignites the orange flames which momentarily turn blue, then red, and return to orange.

Lin then pulls a level towards the far corner of the room. The four bodies that hang by chains are slowly lowered into the incinerator. The four men yell and scream. Mr. Lo, although a ruthless character, does not approve of what is taking place, but he realizes that there is little that he can do. As sounds of anguish come from the depths of the incinerator, the Soul Stealer can barely contain himself. Each scream spells the greatest satisfaction for him. Suddenly, the statue itself seems to come alive, not in motion, but the very eyes light up. The sounds from inside the altar stop. The flames that were orange now turn to an orange and green color. A weird wailing sound is heard from the depths of the altar. The sound is like that of a low wailing, more angry than sorrowful. Mr. Lo and his three henchmen look on in horror, while the ceremony takes place, they are motionless. Tony Jai has been pinned to the wall of the room by some unseen force. Lin Shantou then kneels before the statue of Yan Lou. The Soul Stealer had to harness all of his power for the final part of the ritual. For here, he would humble himself and ask for the father of death to assist him. Yan LouGod of eternal death. God of eternal darkness, father of the souls, keeper of the souls As the Soul Stealer prays the eyes of the statue glow bright red. Lin sits at the base of the statue with his eyes closed and his arms raised. Lins face is covered in sweat. I ask you to grant my request, please humbly accept my offering of these four new souls. In return dark father, release the souls of says Lin. For I could not interpret all of the Soul Stealers words at the time. For at that time, I could not decipher the names of souls he had summoned, his evil prevented me from interpreting the vision clearly. The Soul Stealer, although evil and diabolical knows his history well. For the four names he had mentioned were famed men of Chinas past. The groaning sound that was heard before, now multiplies. Suddenly, the ghostly figure of four spirits is now seen. The four figures fly around the altar. The flames from the altar stand over the length of two men. Mr. Lo and his three men hold their hands at their faces because of the brightness of the light. Lin still sits at the base of the statue. He recites the prayer repeatedly. Tony Jai has crawled into a fetal position; covering himself from the spirits he sees flying in the room. The spirits fly into Mr. Lo and his three men. The fire from the altar goes out. The entire room is completely dark. There is no sound. The Soul Stealer lights a torch, which provides some light for the room. The Soul Stealer is unsure about the success of the ritual. For each man is different. In the past, others have perished.

He holds the light near Mr. Los body which lays motionless on the floor. Mr. Lo lies on his back. Mr. Lo then leans forward and upon seeing his face, the Soul Stealer then realizes that his plan has worked. Mr. Los hair is frazzled and long. His facial hair, eyebrows and hair have all been turned white. Lin Shantou knew that Mr. Lo has inherited the soul of a famed master of Chinas past.

Chapter 16 Judi and Gavin waited until the late afternoon to investigate Yungs Kitchen. They werent in any rush. The person whod been labeled as a vigilante by the police department had alluded them for months. This was the first real clue that had been left at the scene. Judi and Gavin enter Yungs Kitchen by the main entrance. There are several people on line. The front of the restaurant is very small. There are three tables and four chairs at each table. Gavin waits on the line, Judi moves to the takeout counter. Unlike other shops that installed a glass to create a border between themselves and their customers, Yung and Sue refused to do so, when they opened the restaurant. They prided themselves on being friendly towards all. Judi briefly checks the menus at the counter. She ensures that they match the ones found in the subway. Judi returns to the line with Gavin. A gentleman leaves and Gavin steps forward to place his order. Without even looking at the menu, Gavin says Yeah, hey, can I have a pint of beef lo mein? Sue writes down the order, and then turns to the rear where Yung and a worker named Wang work in the kitchen. Wang has worked for Yung and Sue for many years. Unambitious and living only for the next day. Although he is in his late thirties, one would think he is ten years older in age. He has a large belly and he is in need of a shave. Despite this, he is harmless. The phone rings and Sue steps to the side, to pick it up. As Sue takes down a lengthy order over the phone, Judi and Gavin start to look around more intensely. They review the visible kitchen area. Sue finishes taking the order, and returns to the counter, to complete the transaction with Gavin. She asks Anything else sir? Yeah, can I have an ice tea please? responds Gavin. As Judi continues to look at the kitchen, Arious returns from a delivery, and rests the store delivery bike against the back wall. He goes the sink area, puts on an apron, and washes his hands. Judi has a gut feeling that this is the person that theyve been looking for. She thinks to herself, this guy is so young. She looks at Gavin and motions with her head towards the rear where Arious washes. Gavin sees, and the two show their badges to Sue. Sue is terrified. What could the police possibly want Sue thinks to herself. They were peaceful and their shop was one of the cleanest in all of Chinatown. Judi points at Arious.

Wed like to speak to him says Judi. Sue is fearful for Arious. Yung emerges from the kitchen. They want to see Arious says Sue, speaking to Yung. Yung steps forward and addresses Judi and Gavin. Is everything okay officers? Judi senses their unease and tries to calm them down. Everything is okay, youre not in any trouble. We think he may be able to provide us with some help. Can we speak to him briefly? ask Judi. At this time, Arious wasnt sure what to think. He wondered how the police had tracked him here. His hat covers his face when he makes his nightly outings. How did this happen? he thinks to himself. Perhaps he was careless. Yung raises the counter partition. Judi and Gavin step into the kitchen area. Yung walks towards Arious. Arious, Sue and I will be watching closely. Okay? says Yung, trying to provide Arious with reassurance. Judi sees the concern in Yung and Sue and realizes that they have an intimate connection with him. Gavin provides further reassurance saying Just a minute guys... no one is in any trouble After all, the rumors and reports they had about the Chinatown nightwalker werent bad news. He thwarted and exposed Triad exploitation efforts. He was helping them. They were more interested in finding out who this person was. My name is Detective Long. This is Detective Brown. Whats your name? asks Judi. Arious he replies. How long have you been working here? asks Gavin. Yung and Sue are my adopted parents. Ive worked here for a while responds Arious. Yung and Sue, hear fragments of the conversation from where they stand. Wang continues to work, but looks on with suspicion. He thinks to himself Where the police asking about his favorite Mahjong hangout? Or even worse, were they asking about the infamous Sliding Door massage parlor? Can I see your ID please? ask Judi. Arious provides Judi with his learners permit. He still had not learned how to drive. He wasnt in a rush. Yung and Sue did not have a car, but Wang had promised to teach him this summer. Judi copies the information. Gavin looks back at Yung and Sue, and smiles. Were almost done guys says Gavin. Gavin found the entire situation comical. To break the tension as he was use to doing, he playfully asks Arious You dont speak Chinese do you? Some replies Arious.

This catches Judis attention. She looks up briefly and continues copying the rest of the data on the permit. To make sure he was telling the truth, Judi speaks to him in the language of her Mandarin forefathers. Thank you for your time says Judi. Although he realized he was being tested, Arious understood why. He responds in the tongue that he has learned from Yung and Sue. No problem says Arious. Judi is impressed. His Mandarin is not only good, but it is excellent. She is now fascinated by Arious. Gavin is impressed too, but doubts that this could be the person that theyre looking for. Judi returns the identification card. Judi and Gavin leave the restaurant. Yung, Sue and Wang come to Ariouss side. What did they want? Are you okay? asks Sue. Although Sue had been Ariouss adopted mother, she loved him as if he was her own. Im okay replies Arious. Sue returns to the counter and Yung and Wang return to the kitchen. Arious was concerned. How did the police find him? Judi and Gavin return to their police car. Gavin drives and Judi checks the information they have taken. Judi has a gut feeling. Hes only twenty, but I think this is our guy says Judi. Oh, come on Judi! This kid? Taking on Triad families by himself? ask Gavin. Gavin think about it. This guy fits the profile to a tee! Hes young and Black say Judi. Gavin shakes his head in disbelief. Im not buying it not that guy says Gavin. Judi felt that she was right. Now, she would have to prove it.

Chapter 17 The first phase of the Soul Stealers plan was complete. It was now time to complete the second phase, in which hed take control of the Jai family. The familys men could help him acquire bodies that he needed. Now, hed have all the time necessary to plan and predict his next moves. It was now time to rid himself of the foolish boy who currently ran the family. Tony Jai returns to club Sin after an afternoon rendezvous with one of his many girlfriends. He steps into his office and notices that there is hardly any light. The majority of the light that is in the office is natural light that comes in through the window that faces the city. He sees Mr. Lo sitting at his desk. Mr. Lo had not been the same since the ritual. Tony didnt care for the change in his hair, but he was more alarmed in Mr. Lo attitude. He hadnt said a word to him since. Mr. Lo faces the window. As Tony steps further into the room, he sees three of Mr. Jais men standing in the office. Theyve changed their attire. They no longer wear black suits. They now where grey suits with white shirts. Tony senses that something is wrong. He doesnt want to, but if things dont clear up soon, hed call his father. He hated doing that, and felt that he would do so only if it were a last resort. Mr. Lo asks Tony, as he walks further towards the desk. Mr. Lo is everything okay? asks Tony again. Mr. Lo had never acted like this. Tony sensed that there was trouble. He then turns to the henchmen who stand in the rear. Turn the lights on immediately! demanded Tony. The men do not move. Mr. Lo finally turns around and makes eye contact with Tony. What the hell is going on here? I hope youre not falling for the sorcerers bullshit. What has he done to your mind? asks Tony. Mr. Lo finds the question to be very funny. He feels better than he has ever felt. He has the energy of a young man. He feels the power of a great fighter inside of him. Youve done something! replies Mr. Lo. Mr. Lo stands up and moves from behind the desk. Tony steps back a step. As he moves he senses something. He looks to the side of the room. Lin Shantou emerges from the darkness. He wears a black robe with a hood. He steps closer towards Mr. Lo and then removes the hood. He has the expression of pure disgust. The Soul Stealer is ready to rid himself of this fool.

Tony, for the past few years, Ive watched you destroy your fathers business. Ive always felt that you were too immature and too careless. Had you father not been a close friend, I would have taken actions much sooner. With the production of Ying Yang, we can no longer afford your carelessness. I was sent here to fix the problemsand I will says Mr. Lo. Two of the henchmen move behind Tony Jai. Tony loses control, and his fear causes him to urinate on himself. Upon seeing this, Lin Shantou releases a high pitched cackle. Trying to leave as though nothing is wrong, Tony Jai says Well speak about this later. I have an appointment! As he turns toward the entrance. He sees the two henchmen before him. He says nothing. The men say nothing. Yesyou do have an appointment. With me! says Mr. Lo. A frustrated and scared Tony Jai turns toward the Soul Stealer. Sorcerer what have you done? asks Tony. Whatever do you mean Mr. Jai ask Lin, who starts to laugh. The third henchman moves directly behind Tony. Tony turns around and makes a final attempt to leave the room. The henchman grabs him and proceeds to strangle him. All is silent except for the laughter of Lin Shantou. For he knows that he now controls one of the most powerful families in Chinatown.

Chapter 18 It has been a long day for Arious. He is still concerned about the police presence. Why and how did they find him? This is a dangerous time. Hell have to proceed with caution. His thoughts are interrupted by the evening news, which is displayed on the television in front of him. Good evening, Im David Alverado! says David. And Im Nora Ortiz say Nora. Police are still baffled by the sweeping epidemic of the new drug known as Ying Yang; The drug is believed to be the product of organized crime in Chinatown. Police are trying to figure out if the death of Triad boss Tony Jai At that moment, Arious realizes that someone has taken the life of Jai. This is not the worst thing he thinks, but who could have pulled it off? is any way connected. The Triad bosss body was found today, floating in the water under the Brooklyn Bridge. He was known for his extravagant, and eccentric lifestyle, which he often flaunted said David Alverado. Arious takes a moment. Who could have done this? Jai was too heavily connected. Something had to have gone wrong. Yung comes from the front of the store with Wang. Wang walks to the coat rack and puts on his coat. He felt much better after the police had left. He decided to treat himself to a massage at the Sliding Door that evening. Good night guys! said Wang. Night replies Yung. Later replies Arious. Sue had gone home early. Yung had just finished locking down the front of the store. He really wanted to know what was going on with his son. Arious, we need to have a talk says Yung. Arious wasnt surprised. A visit from the police would illicit this type of response from the most casual parents. Even Yung and Sue. Arious notices that Yung looks more concerned than anything else. Lets have a seat says Yung. The two walk to a table in the front of the restaurant. When they sit, nothing is initially said. Yung wasnt quite sure how to initiate the conversation. Arious, whats going on? asks Yung. What do you mean? replies Arious. Arious, Sue and I have noticed a dramatic change in your behavior. We dont say much to you. Youre a young man and we want to give you your space. I never say anything about the late hours you spend out. The thing is, well, were concerned about what youre into these days. The police presence bothered me a great deal says Yung.

Arious is hurt. He loves both Yung and Sue. He isnt sure how to respond. He wishes he could tell Yung everything. Yung senses the tension and conflict in Arious. We dont talk as much as we use too! How is school going? asks Yung. Arious had enrolled as a part time student at the local community college. He didnt express interest in going full time. Im just taking two classes this semester. Ive got a lot on my mind. Not sure what I want to do these days replies Arious. Yung sensed that there was much Arious wasnt saying. He couldnt force it out of him. All he could do was be a friend. I understand. No one should have to make up their mind at such an early age. Do you know that when I was your age, I wanted to be an actor, and work for the Shaw Brothers! says Yung. The two have a good laugh. Sure, we all have dreams says Yung. Yung then becomes serious. Do you still train with Meng asks Yung. For Meng had provided Arious with friendship and a solid foundation. A foundation which would keep Arious humble and guided. The question was easy to answer until the recent events. Kind of, sort of says Arious. Not knowing what to make of the response, Yung asks So youve completed your training? Arious is overwhelmed with guilt. He had hardly finished his training and he was now given the task of doing something impossible. Sensing Ariouss problems, young says Arious, Sue and I love you. You can talk to us about anything. If there is anything that I can do for you, anything at all, please let me know. Yung sees the pain in Ariouss eyes, which begin to well. Yung is hurt by this. Arious have you visited your mothers grave lately? asks Yung. Not lately replied Arious. He had done his best to block out her memory, and think about the future. We have to have respect for our dead loved ones. If youre having a problem going, let me know and I will go with you says Yung. Tears run down Ariouss face. Thank you says Arious. I often have a hard time recording these facts. For each Neverending Master endures an enormous amount of pain before his ascension to the scroll. For if it were an easy task, then there would be no glory in this legacy.

Chapter 19 The death of Tony Jai wasnt the news that the mayor wanted to hear. Tourism in Chinatown was already suffering, due to the media coverage of Ying Yang. Several detectives who were on the case out of the Chinatown precinct had nothing. Police Captain Frank Callahan was not happy. The captain was a few years away from retirement. Hed been with the force for twenty-five years. He thought that being assigned to Chinatown for the remainder of his career would be easy. He was wrong! The fifty year old, Irish officer didnt have any tolerance for excuses. All he wanted were results. Judi and Gavin were called into his office the day after Jais death. Franks office is large by precinct standards. The office is big enough for Franks large desk, and dresser that sit behind his chair. As a family man, he has a number of pictures of his kids and grandchildren. Frank sits in his chair wearing a white shirt, and blue tie. Judi sits in the chair in front of him. While Gavin stands against the wall looking out the window. He is checking out the beautiful women of Chinatown. You guys arent giving me anything to work with here. Youve been working on this case for three months says Frank. He then directs his attention to Judi. Long you were assigned to me because of your familiarity with Chinese culture. Youre suppose to be the one who infiltrates the great wall of silence that exists here in Chinatown diverting his attention towards Gavin he says and you, pain in the ass, youre here because of the work you did in Phillys chinatown. The two of you havent given men anything to work with. Absolutely nothing! says Frank. Cap says Judi as she is interrupted. Just hold it; Jais family is responsible for gambling, prostitution and extortion. You should have been able to tie one of those activities to the wonder drug that theyre moving on the street says Frank. Captain, were having a hard time. No one, absolutely no one wants to talk about Jais family. Aside from that, weve got a vigilante running loose. Its not an impossible case. Its just not that simple pleads Gavin. Frank isnt concerned or sympathetic to the plea. Thats why the city of New York pays you guys all the big bucks. We need you to make it simple! says Frank.

Judy and Gavin shake their heads. Gavin briefly turns away and silently curses the captain. Frank then starts reading from a report on his desk. Ying Yang a drug known for its high potency, addiction and deadly after effects has claimed the lives of twenty four Chinatown residents in the last weeka vigilante has been sighted in Chinatown, waging war with the cities organized crime familiesreports of a madman stealing bodies from the cemeteryand Triad boss Tony Jai found murdered, his body found floating in the water under the Brooklyn Bridge says Frank. Frank sits back in his chair and looks at Judi and Gavin. His face is a light pink. He is clearly upset. Frank leans forward and puts his hands together momentarily as if he was begging. He had no other course of action but to plead with them. Look. People are complaining. I have been getting calls from the mayors office and the district attorney all week. I dont care what you two have to do. Just get me some answers soon! say Frank. Feeling that they had had recent success, Judi speaks up, saying We have a lead! Frank looks at her with disbelief. Gavin rolls his eyes and folds his arms. Frank looks at another report on his desk. Please tell me that youre not talking about this. The Black kid who delivers Chinese food. This is not a lead. A lead is someone who provides details about Tony Jais death or someone who helps us find out where Ying Yang is being distributed from. What about the big wig who just flew in? ask Frank. Who? Lo? asks Gavin. Yeah, what about this guy? What do you two have on him? ask Frank. There is silence for several seconds. I need something from you two in two weeks. Now get out. Send Dugid and Smalls in! commanded the captain. Judi and Gavin left the office with a mixture of feelings. The captain had a right to be upset, but they were truly overwhelmed. Judi still believed in her gut feeling, and on this evening, it would pay off. .

Chapter 20 Tony Jais death didnt effect the usual Friday night turnout at club Sin. Tony wasnt well liked by anyone in or outside of the Jai family. If anything, it seemed as if the young crowd was celebrating his departure. The scene outside of the club reflected this attitude. There are a number of luxury cars and there is a small group of bikers as well. There are a number of beautiful women as well. They make it all worth it. The line is abnormally long, and since the club lay on a corner, the line trails to the next corner and around the block. Masternever stood behind a group of dumpsters. He had scoped the club out for over and hour and he was thinking about the best way in. He needed to find out what had happened to Jai. Who was in control now and where was Ying Yang being created? he asks himself. Behind the large green dumpsters, Masternever could see a henchman walk up to the door. The uniform for all of the henchmen in the Jai family was similar and predictable. Black suit, with black shirt and shoes. As the henchman knock, Masternever listens to the pattern and memorizes it. The doorman answers. He is an intimidating Chinese man who stands at one and a half men. He has a bald head, and tattoos that cover his head. He is armed with a compact assault weapon. Masternever stealthily sneaks up to the door. For he does not believe that he is seen or heard. He delivers the same knock, that he had just heard. Masternever stands to the side and leans against the wall. The henchman opens the door, and sees no one. He then sticks his head out to look around. Masternever grabs the man by the throat, and then delivers a kick to the mans neck. The doorman falls backwards, and Masternever pushes him inside, closing the door behind him. Masternever had used the utmost stealth, but he did not realize that Judi and Gavin had followed him the entire day. After the captains discourse, they followed the only lead that they had, hoping it would materialize into something. After hours of waiting near Yungs kitchen and then following Arious home, Judi had proved herself to be correct. In their police car that is parked directly across the street from the events that just took place. Judi and Gavin look on. Okay, you were right! You were right! says Gavin playfully. Both were happy to get a break. Judi and Gavin start checking their weapons and then they step out of the car. Judi opens the trunk and gets extra ammunition. She closes the trunk and the two start walking towards the club. Gav, lets go in through the front say Judi.

This night promised to be one of the most storied in all of Chinatown. For all who would witness the events that unfolded would not forget even in their later years.

Chapter 21 Once inside Masternever hides the doormans body in a closet. Any average man would have great difficulty with this task. But a Neverending Master would always finds this task so easy. Masternever starts to make his way up the staircase. As usual, he was adorned in his blue baseball cap, with white letters. His sneakers, canvas pants, and sweatshirt, provided him with comfort. His book bag stored his skateboard. The stairs have long neon lights that illuminate the black walls and carpet. As Masternever walks up the stairs, he hears the bass emanating from the club. He briefly thinks thats hed love to be a regular patron on a nice warm night like this. He comes too and thinks about the task at hand. A henchman is at the top of the staircase. He smokes a cigarette. Hes sorry he even bothered to take this job. Then again, what other job pays so well for Chinese immigrants? He looks at his watch, he sighs because he knows that he has many hours till his work is done. He suddenly hears a whistle sound from the staircase. He draws his sleek and compact pistol. He glances over the rail. Using the Fist of the Wind technique, Masternever appears behind him. In the first motion, Masternever takes the gun. The henchman turns around to see a foot arriving at his face. He flies backward over the railing. His impact echoes in the staircase. Masternever starts down a short hallway that leads to a larger one. Masternever peaks around the corner. He sees two armed doorman in front of a door at the end of the hallway. The only light that exists is one that hangs a few feet from the men. Masternever starts running. He takes flight. The henchmen hear him, but do not see him yet. They draw their weapons. Suddenly they see Masternever. Both men fire and Masternever jumps up and kicks out the light. Surrounded in darkness, the two henchmen panic and fire repeatedly. Wasting no time, Masternever snaps both of their necks. Masternever had been use to dealing with organized crime members this way for some time. Very soon, he would have to extend himself and his courage and utilize the scroll.

Chapter 22 Instead of following Masternever through the rear, Judi and Gavin decide to go through the front of the club and speak to management. They were convinced that something was about to happen. They wanted to catch Masternever in the act. As they round the corner, Gavin is distracted by the hordes of beautiful young women. The crowd is young, ranging from twenty one year old to thirty. The majority of the people who wait outside are Chinese, with a few other races about. Gavin can hardly contain himself. Hes too busy checking out the women. Judi isnt interested in any of the males who try to make eye contact with her. Some in the crowd wonder who the two are, after all not everyone gets into club Sin. Some wait hours and never get in. A beautiful young woman, with long hair and beautiful eyes, makes eye contact with Gavin. Ive got the wrong job, he thinks to himself. When theyre closer to the door, Judi and Gavin reveal their badges. The crowd in front of the door moves to allow them through. Even though theyve shown their badges, Judi and Gavin have to use great effort to get through the crowd at the door. NYPD, excuse me! says Judi. NYPD coming through says Gavin as he tries to assert himself. The two bouncers at the door are Chinese men who wear the traditional Jai family attire. Theyre both very strong men in appearance. The bouncers wear headsets as well. As Judi and Gavin make their way into the club, a bouncer stops them. Hey, you two have to get back in line says the first bouncer. Both of the bouncers have shaved heads, they look like they could be related. Judi looks at the bouncer with confusion and then displays her badge. Oh, my fault! says the first bouncer, This way! As Judi and Gavin make their way inside, the second bouncer makes their presence known to the club staff We got NYPD in the building. Tell me what you want us to do! Guys, a hostess will meet you here in a second! says the first bouncer. Gavin nods at him while Judi looks at the layout. It was the first time that Gavin or Judi had been into the club. The two go out all of the time, but since they knew that club Sin was a front for the Jai family, they did not frequent the establishment. The club walls are a white, and the color is enhanced by hot lights along the floor and the walls. The light is not overpowering, but cool. It is as if, youre walking through a cloud. The floors are illuminated with the same light below. Tony Jai did not spare any expense when he hired designers for the club. The club hostess is a beautiful Chinese woman who wears a revealing red dress. The dress is enhanced by her red hair and red shoes. She is stunning! To add to her appeal, she has a large, tattooed dragon on her back.

How can I help you? says the hostess, who doesnt sound as though she wants to help. Gavin sees this as another opportunity to flirt. Judi doesnt want to waste any time. We need to speak to the club manager immediately! says Judi. The hostess did not understand the gravity of the situation. She did not sense the urgency. No problem, Ill be right back says the hostess. She leaves the lobby area and hopes to find the manager sooner than later. The police were bad for business. Judi and Gavin wanted to speak to the manager so they could find out who was running the club now that Jai was gone, and if possible catch Masternever in the act. However Judi sensed that the hostess was giving them the run around. Gav, this is bullshit!...lets go! says Judi. I agree replies Gavin. The two make their way down the corridor, towards the depths of the club.

Chapter 23 Masternever unknowingly walks into the office that was once Tony Jais. Masternever scans the office, and sees no one. Its a very large office with pockets of darkness in the corners. The offices tinted windows that face the club, allow Masternever to look at the crowd dancing below. Masternever then heads over to the desk in the room. He briefly admires the view of the city from the windows behind the desk. He isnt tense, because there doesnt seem to be anyone around at the moment. He looks at the messy desk. The desk hasnt been cleaned. Papers are scattered about. There is a streak of what appears to be blood. Oddly enough the trail ends on a stack of business cards. Masternever picks up a few of the cards. The cards reads TONY JAI MANAGER CLUB SIN Looking at the card, Masternever realizes that this was once Jais office. The blood trail on the desk made sense. Suddenly Lin Shantou appears at the entrance of the office. Masternever turns around. He cant make out the silhouetted figure. Young master! We finally meet. Ive heard a great deal about you says Lin Shantou. Masternever wonders who this person is, and why he referred to him as a young master. Lin Shantou steps forward, and pulls back the hood on the robe. Masternever, for the first time since his appointment is afraid! He steps back until he bumps into the desk. As he and Lin Shantou look at one another, he realizes that he faces the Soul Stealer. Lin is confident, for he feels that the inexperienced master will be no match for the test that follows. Your legacy precedes you; its most unfortunate that you should meet your demise like this. For years, Ive followed and studied you, and the masters before you. Ive been planning, waiting, and now my genius strategy will not fail says Lin as he begins to laugh. Masternever isnt intimidated by the feeble old man. Masternever steps into a fighting stance. Fine! Since you know so much; come get it! says Masternever. Lin Shantou walks further into the office, but keeps his distance. I dare not; I know your powers well. For a great many years, I could not figure out how I would defeat you. Then, I realized, it would take another great master, to beat another! says Lin.

Masternever is curious as to what the statements mean. Why was the Soul Stealer so confident? he asked himself. In fact, to beat you, I realized that the master had to be someone greater than you. Meet Zhou Tong! says Lin. The name that I could not find in my vision was made manifest. For at that time, I could not see into the depths of the Soul Stealers plans. Just as he had seen in his vision, and the piece at my layer, Mr. Lo steps from the darkness of the corner. He wears a white suit, with black shirt and tie. Mr. Lo had now possessed the fighting spirit of Zhou Tong the famed kung fu legend of Chinas past. Masternever now recognized the image from my layer. For the first time, Masternever fears an opponent. The fear is increased as Mr. Lo moves towards him with a look of unshaken confidence. Mr. Lo stops walking. The Soul Stealer would then introduce three, who had inherited the fighting spirits of three of Zhou Tongs three disciples. These three, on there own had defeated armies and are just as fabled as Zhou Tong himself. With great delight the soul speaks. Now that you have met Zhou Tong, meet his famed disciples, Wu Song, Lin Chong and Lin Junyi says Lin Shantou. The three disciples then come forward from several locations in the room. Like Mr. Lo, his three henchmen had received the fighting spirits of great warriors from the past. They too, had changed physically. The three wore dark grey suits and black shirts. The henchman, who became Wu Song, has a bald head and a tattoo of a dragon on his head. The henchman who had the power of Lin Chong had hair covering most of his face, and has white tips at the end. The henchman who inherited the power of Lu Junyi wears black sunglasses, and has a spiked haircut, with red tips. The three disciples of Zhou Tong surround Masternever. The Soul Stealer stands near Mr. Lo. They both look on with delight, in Masternevers discomfort. Masternever is overwhelmed and uncertain. Mr. Lo was enough on his own. Now, Masternever had to deal with three other great fighters. The Soul stealer has never been so confident; never so sure of himself. He now had the young, inexperienced Master exactly where he wants him. The Soul Stealer points his decrepit finger towards Masternever. Kill him! commands Lin Shantou.

The three disciples simultaneously plan to attack. Masternever knew he needed an attack that would protect him against all three fighters. He had mastered only a few styles from the great scroll. One useful style was the Fury of the Rain, a spinning punch and kicking technique. Masternever then uses the Fury of the Rain technique. He spins and as the three disciples attack, they are assaulted with a barrage of blinding kicks and punches that they dont see. The three disciples fall to the ground. Masternever stands confidently looking at Mr. Lo and Lin Shantou. This enrages the Soul Stealer. You!Your time is coming to an end! says Lin Shantou. The henchman, who has the soul of Lu Junyi, charges at Masternever. Masternever grabs him, and throws him through the window that faces the club below. The glass accompanied by Junyis body disturbs the club that is filled with young men and women who dance below. There is instant chaos. Masternever flips out of the hole created by the broken glass. By this time, all of the club goers start to exit. The music still plays in the background. Wu Song and Lin Chong jump down after Masternever. The lights in the club flash in synchronization with the music. Masternever stands in front of Lu Junyi who lies on the floor, alive, but in pain. Wu Song and Lin Chong stand in front of him. Masternever wonders which will attack first. Masternever looks up at the hole created in the large window. Mr. Lo looks on. Masternever wonders why he has not attacked, as of yet. For he knows well, that he must deal with Mr. Lo soon. Judi and Gavin with their guns drawn, make their way inside of the club. Theyre having a hard time getting pass the disorderly crowd, which runs against them. On the dance floor, Wu Song and Lin Chong attack one after the other with punching strikes. Masternever blocks one after the other and knocks them back with an open handed strike. Yes, fall back indeed! Your styles are weak. You need more training! says a confident Masternever. Infuriated and somewhat humiliated, Wu Song and Lin Chong attack again. Masternever, who stands prepared in a fighting stance, reacts by using the original style from the scroll. The style that truly created order. Masternevers hands were in a claw formation. He used the Dragon King style. This style enables the master to emulate metal with his hands, and pierce the flesh of humans.

Masternever attacks. He strikes Wu Song in the face and then strikes him across the torso; cutting him both times. Lin Chong attacks with a kick. Masternever dodges quickly and then slashes the legs of Lin Chong, who staggers backwards, and is cut as well. All three of the disciples lay on the ground alive, but in a great deal of pain. The music has gone off. Masternever stands on the floor, looking at the three whove been defeated. Suddenly, Mr. Lo jumps from the window. Masternever turns around and observes Mr. Lo. Why is he so confident? Masternever asks himself. Masternever then stands in a fighting stance. Mr. Lo stands casually with his hands at his side. He has a smirk on his face. Hes confident, for he has the fighting knowledge of one of Chinas best. Masternever looks up at the broken window, and sees Lin Shantou. Masternever feels an intense hatred for him. Mr. Lo lunges forward, Masternever steps to the side, to avoid the attack. Mr. Lo attacks again, with a series of continuous kicks and punches. Masternever blocks them, but he notices how precise and quick Mr. Lo is. Masternever attempts to strike Mr. Lo with a blow to the head, Mr. Lo blocks and counters, with a strike to Masternevers torso. Masternever doesnt see the hit, and is sent to the floor. Masternever lies on his back, looking up at Mr. Lo. Mr. Lo senses victory. The Soul Stealer looks on with delight. Come now, young master says Mr. Lo. Masternever is enraged. He flips onto his feet. He strikes at Mr. Lo furiously. Masternever realizes that he is not successful with this method of attack. He then uses the Fist of the Wind technique. Masternever disappears and reappears three times. Each time he strikes at Mr. Lo, he is blocked. Mr. Lo realizes that he has blocked the technique that haunted him for years. Mr. Lo assaults Masternever with a series of slaps, and open handed strikes. Masternever falls to the ground. The series of punches has overcome him. Masternever is heavily bruised in the face. There are a few cuts and bruises. Mr. Los three disciples are now at their feet. They stand behind him. Looking at Masternever on the ground, the Soul Stealer stands at the side, giggling. He is so excited, he is shaking. The moment has finally come! Life eternal! Young Masternever. Your time is at an end! says Mr. Lo. Masternever looks up at Mr. Lo, unsure of what to do. He is frozen and overcome with fear. He isnt sure how he will get out of this situation.

At that moment, Judi and Gavin run onto the dance floor with their guns drawn. The Soul Stealer is unseen and steps back behind a column, looking on. Mr. Lo and the three disciples turn towards Judi and Gavin. Hands over your head. Dont fucking move! says Gavin. Or what? says Mr. Lo. Judi looks at Mr. Lo, and isnt sure if it is him. She remembers the face, but Mr. Los change in physical appearance confuses her. Gavin moves in closer towards Mr. Lo. Dont move asshole! says Gavin. Mr. Lo laughs, and then begins to charge. Gavin fears the fact that he will have to fire on Mr. Lo. I said stop! says Gavin. Mr. Lo continues forward. Gavin shoots, and Mr. Lo dodges two shots. Mr. Lo then reaches Gavin, taking his arm, and forces the gun into Gavins torso. Mr. Lo fires the weapon, and shoots Gavin, who is initially shocked by the sight of blood, then falls to the ground in pain. He is on the floor alive, but in tremendous pain. The events happened so quickly, Judi turns towards Mr. Lo. Gavin says Judi, who prepares to fire at Mr. Lo. At that moment, the henchman who has the fighting soul of Wu Song kicks the gun out of Judis hands, and grabs her by the neck with one arm. Judi fights to get loose. Wu Song, then looks on and laughs. Masternever who is on his feet attacks Wu Song with a kick to the head. Wu Song falls backwards, and releases Judi, who falls to the floor and holds her neck. She felt the clutches of death for a moment. Lin Chong and Lu Junyi simultaneously attack Masternever. Masternever again uses the Fury of the Rain technique. Lin Chong is hit with a punch and Lu Junyi goes crashing to the floor from a kick. Judi staggers to her feet. Masternever recognizes both Judi and Gavin from his parents restaurant. He runs to Judi. Lets go! says Masternever. Masternever then runs to Gavins side and picks him up, and puts him over his shoulders. Judi reveals a second firearm from her leg. She points the gun at Mr. Lo and Wu Song who stand in front of her. Neither seems concerned. Masternever, who carries Gavin, runs towards the entrance. Judi follows, and keeps her back towards the door, looking at Mr. Lo and Wu Song. She fires several shots as she

prepares to exit the room. Mr. Lo and Wu Song dodge the bullets. Judi looks on in disbelief. What the hell is going on here? Who are these men? she asks herself. Come on! yells Masternever, which causes Judi to snap out of the frozen state of mind that she is in. The two run down the long hallway which leads to the entrance. Judi then wonders How is he able to run with Gavin on his back? She does not realize that the person who carries her associate is no mere man. As they reach the club entrance, two of Mr. Los henchman steps in front of them with guns. Masternever slows down. Judi runs in front of him, aims and shoots both men with a shot each. Masternever kicks the door open, and they narrowly escape, the depths of Club Sin.

Chapter 24 Masternever and Judi exit the club. Masternever still carries Judis partner, Gavin on his back. They reach Judis car. Judi goes to the drivers side and opens the door. She gets in and opens all of the doors in the car. After starting the car, she yells get in! Masternever places Gavin in the front seat. Gavin is alive but barely conscious. Masternever then closes the door. Judi is surprised. Take him and get out of here! says Masternever. What the What about you? says Judi. There conversation is disrupted by a loud sound, that of a metal explosion. The steel doors at the back of club Sin have been kicked off the building onto the street. Mr. Lo walks out, followed by Lin Chong, Wu Song, Lu Junyi and several other henchmen. Mr. Lo then makes eye contact with Masternever. Go! says Masternever. Get them! says Mr. Lo. Judi pulls away. Masternever runs in the opposite direction and pulls his board of his backpack. He skates off into the dark street. Judi looks at him in her mirrors and drives away. Judi then focuses her attention towards Gavin. She thinks about the closest hospital in the area. Judis heart is racing. She can hardly control herself. The entire evening has been surreal. Mr. Lo commands his henchmen to follow Masternever. The men race towards two luxury cars that rest in the parking lot behind the club. Masternever is skating as fast as he can down the dark and barren Chinatown streets. Chinatown is the kind of place that turns into a world of shadows and darkness at night. As Masternever reaches the end of the block he looks back over his shoulder and two cars round the corner and accelerates and a high speed. The passenger in the lead car leans outside of his window and starts firing. The bullets come close to Masternever and go by him. The cars are gaining ground and are very close to Masternever. Masternever realizes that he cant out run them, so he turns down a dark alleyway. The drivers did not expect this and they go flying by the entrance to the alleyway. As Masternever skates down the alleyway, he looks for a possible exit. There are a number of dumpsters and trash cans in the dark alley. The car in the rear reverses and starts driving down the alleyway and suddenly makes a stop. The driver and passenger see Masternever standing in front of them, with his skateboard in hand. Masternever has decided to confront them. Now that Judi and Gavin are gone, he can deal with them alone.

The two passengers look at each other momentarily, then the driver slams on the accelerator. The car takes off and Masternever starts running towards the car. As Masternever nears the car, he jumps, and performs a double front kick, jumping into the front window, and striking both henchmen in their torso. The car slams into a side wall and is damaged. Masternever is hurt, but not permanently injured. A Neverending Master can absorb these types of bodily blows and continue. Masternever climbs out of the wreckage and brushes himself off. The scrapes and bruises that he has will be gone by tomorrow! Masternever skates out of the alley. As he pulls out of the alley, he makes a right and the first car accelerates towards him. He makes another quick turn, down a street that is filled with palettes and crates. This area is a district used for selling fish, and it is always congested. The car rides along the left hand side of Masternever. The passenger in the car leans out and fires his gun twice at Masternever. Masternever rides behind the crates. The driver and passenger have a hard time seeing Masternever as he appears only momentarily between the obstructions. Suddenly Masternever is gone. Where did he go? says the driver. The car stops and the henchman in the passenger seat gets out of the vehicle to look around. He walks towards the sidewalk. The henchman is repulsed by the odor of fish. He continues to look for Masternever amongst the debris and palettes. The driver looks toward the sidewalk. Little does he know, Masternever is sneaking up to the car besides him. Masternever reaches in, and puts his hand on the drivers neck. With the next motion, he grabs the far side of the drivers head, and twists his head, snapping the drivers neck. Meanwhile, the henchman on the sidewalk, does not hear his comrades demise. He walks on the sidewalk cautiously, with gun in hand, hoping to spot Masternever. He reaches a large stack of palettes that towers seven feet in height. Masternever waits behind the palettes. As the henchman walks past, Masternever sees the henchmans arm. He grabs the henchmans arm. The gun falls to the ground. Masternever then breaks the henchmans arm, with a swift motion. The henchman falls to the ground, overcome with fear and pain. Masternever thinks briefly about ending the henchmans life. He then hears sounds of police cars nearby. No doubt that they are on theyre way to club Sin. Regardless, a cop was wounded and as Masternever would soon find out, the cop shooting would prove to be fatal! Masternever leaves the henchman, and rides off into the shadows of Chinatown.

Chapter 25 Using a key which Meng had provided to him, some time ago, Masternever entered Mengs apartment at the wee hours of the morning. He walks straight towards Mengs bedroom, and proceeds to bang on the door. Meng! Meng! yells Masternever. On this evening, Masternever was hurt and frustrated by his commission. Meng could hear the voice at his bedroom door. He knew it was Arious, but wondered if he was okay. Meng leaves his bed and puts on a robe and slippers. Although he was tired and weary, he was more concerned about Arious. Arious. It is three in the morning. Whats going on? asks Meng. Although he asked the question, he could see the pain in Masternevers face. Meng took time to study Arious watery eyes and a facial expression that bode hopelessness. As he looked at Arious, he felt regret at the appointment. For Arious was the youngest appointed Neverending Master. Im sorry my friend. Perhaps, Ive asked you to bear a burden that you cannot carry says Meng. Meng realizing that they need to chat, thinks of drinking some tea, perhaps to sooth Ariouss nerves. Arious, come and have some tea. We will talk a bit says Meng, as he walks towards the kitchen area. Masternever follows. Tonight, I fought someone. A skilled master. Someone like me says Masternever. At that time, Meng became startled. He was puzzled by the statement. Like you? In what way? asks Meng. He was like me. He was better than me! He knew all of my moves! He kept saying that he knew me. That he saw me before said Masternever. He was introduced to me as Zhou Tong Meng is usually composed, but upon hearing the message, he dropped the drinking utensil he was holding. That is impossible. Zhou Tong, here? asks Meng. A puzzled Meng that starts walking slowly towards the living room. Who is he? ask Masternever. Zhou Tong is one of the greatest fighters to have ever lived. A master who was not a part of our legacy, or ancestry of fighting, but none the less, a true master. We fought along side of him in many battles. Zhou Tong was a devoted warrior monk, hundreds of years ago says Meng.

This made absolutely no sense to either of them. Meng was truly perplexed. I met someone else as well says Masternever. When I visited Majid, he showed me a mural that he created from a vision. He told me about a sorcerer who stole souls said Masternever. Meng suddenly realized what was going on. He was fully aware and knew the Soul Stealer well. Lin, the Soul Stealer! Now this makes sense! The person you fought tonight was not Zhou Tong, but a person who is using Zhous fighting soul! explains Meng. Masternever needed an explanation to what he had seen. Who were the men that were with Zhou Tong? he thought. He had three men with him, they were not as skilled, but they had advanced techniques. One used a drunken monk technique; the next used a weird, but effective defensive style; and the other used a leopard punching style explained Masternever. Hearing the description of the three styles, Meng knew who these men were. For he knew well whose fighting spirit these men were using. The three men youve described sound like Zhous famed disciples. Skilled fighters, when fighting together, they were able to defeat armies. If the Soul Stealer is using these souls to do his bidding, indeed, it will be disastrous! says Meng. There was silence in the room. Masternever looked at Meng, waiting and hoping that his aged master of many years would provide an answer as he did many times in the past. For the first time, Masternever sensed that Meng did not have an answer. Meng looked at the floor momentarily and then sits on the sofa in the living room. His hands joined together, Meng looked as though he were in deep thought. Meng knew well of the Soul Stealer and feared for the young masters life. You mentioned that you met with Majid. How was your meeting? asked Meng. He talks in riddles, about visions and prophecies. Things that I dont understand, things that I cant understand. He didnt even help me read the scroll. Why did you bother giving it to me? asked a frustrated Masternever. To ensure that Majid would see you explained Meng. For Meng knew this was not true. He had given the young Masternever the scroll for other reasons, so as to assist in his journey. I dont understand him or you! He wont help me read the scroll, but he wants me to contribute to it! explained Masternever. Thats bullshit! Meng stands. For the first time he has been hurt by Masternevers words.

In all of my years of knowing you, you have never spoken like that to me says Meng. What do you expect? Youve given me this gift that is more like a curse. You know, I never asked for any of this! says Masternever. Meng can see the pain in Masternevers eyes. Masternever turns away and starts to walk always from Meng. He stops with his back turned. Ill be honest with you. Im not sure I want to deal with this anymore says Masternever. Masternever turns around and faces Meng again. The responsibility of being a Neverending Master is more than enough. Now, I have to worry about adding to its legacy says Masternever. Meng puts his head to the floor, and his arms joined behind his back. He walks to the window, in the far corner of the apartment. It is true; you are the youngest, appointed master. Most were appointed in adulthood says Meng. Meng then turns towards Masternever and starts walking towards him slowly, talking as he walks. But that is what makes you so special! A young master like yourself. The impact that you can have on this world is without measure. For this reason my friend, I thought that you would take hold of this gift and treasure it says Meng. Meng now stands in front of Masternever, placing his arms on Masternevers shoulders. I cant do this alone says Masternever. You are facing some difficulty, but you are not alone in your quest. You will never be alone! Continue to see Majid. He will help you reach your potential, and help you to fully understand your power says Meng. Mengs eyes begin to well. He is hurting for his longtime friend. As you will soon learn, Meng has been with Masternever many years. You will never be alone! I will be with you in your battles, guiding you my friend! Weve come along way together. I must ask you to trust me, and allow Majid to help you says Meng. Masternever felt insulted, for this was not the answer he wanted. So thats it? Thanks for nothing! says Masternever, as he turns away from Meng and starts walking towards the door.

Arious! Arious! calls Meng. Masternever looks at Meng once more, before closing the door. Meng is overcome with a great hurt! For he feels that he has hurt his close friend. The two of them did not know that this would be their final meeting on this earth. If they did, things may have ended differently.

Chapter 26 Judi Wong had been perplexed as to the events that took place the night before. With all certainty she had seen men dodge her bullets. How could this be? Now that she had found the mysterious master of the shadows, she would have to know his origin. She needed closure. For Judi would soon learn the origin of Masternever and how he came to be. Judi decided to take the train, from her apartment in Union Square. She walked from the train station, and headed into Chinatown, to find Arious at Yungs Kitchen. She wondered how he had faired from the events the night before. Considering the help that Arious had provided to her and her partner, she did not want to include Arious in her report. Knowing that Arious worked in the kitchen, Judi approaches the restaurant from the alleyway. As Judi walks through the quiet alleyway, she sees Arious exiting the restaurant and walking towards a dumpster, with some trash. Arious? says Judi. Arious turns around while holding a bag of trash. Hey hey says, as he continues to place the trash in a dumpster. What is she doing here? Is she going to arrest me? he asks himself. You okay? Im surprised I was able to sneak up on you says Judi. Im okay I guess. I have some things on my mind, but Im still okay. You alright? asks Arious. Im fine says Judi. She looks at Arious. Although she had seen him in action the night before, she had a hard time connecting the mild mannered, clean cut young man in front of her with the person she saw the night before. Arious wondered why Judi was alone. He then remembered that her partner was injured in battle. What happened to your partner he asks. Hes in stable condition. Just in a lot of pain. Gav is a tough guy, hell pull through says Judi, trying to reassure herself. She realized the seriousness of Gavins wounds and he would have to be especially tough to make it through this battle wound. Am I going to get arrested? ask Arious. Not by me, but we have to have a talk says Judi. Arious sensed the seriousness in Judis voice. He looked at her, and for the first time, realized how beautiful she was. Despite her beauty, he sensed a great deal of courage, and for that reason, he felt that he could confide in her.

Chapter 27 Arious and Judi decided to talk in a nearby park. They sit in an isolated and quiet area that overlooks the park. They two sit on a bench next to one another. Arious, I really need to know what is going on says Judi. Ive seen things that I dont understand Arious had wanted someone to confide in. She had already known his identity. She had proven trustworthy, and for that reason, he decided to share his tale with her. To reveal the secrets of the Neverending Masters. Ill tell you, but it wont make sense says Arious. After last night, Im ready for anything replied Judi. Arious then looks of into the park and begins to think about where to begin. Two thousand years ago, in China there was a mighty warrior named Guan Yu. He was a fearless warrior, respected by all, even his enemies says Arious. I know of Guan Yu interrupts Judi. Let me continue, there are things about him, things that you do not know. Because of his bravery, he was elevated to the title of God of War in 219 C.E., but while he was here on earth, while engaged in battle he was saved by a warrior name Cuixu. Guan Yu was grateful and he would soon honor Cuixi for his courage. Once Guan Yu was appointed as a God, he spoke to Cuixu in a vision and told him that because of his act of bravery he would reward him. Cuixis legacy would live on and his knowledge of fighting would continue without end. And so, began the legacy of the Neverending Masters. Each master is appointed by a previous master. Once appointed, the master has the fighting knowledge of all the masters in the line of Neverending Masters. In addition, the appointed master has increased strength, he heals quicker from wounds and he has a prolonged life says Arious. Judi takes some time to think about what is said, and then she realizes that Arious must be an appointed Neverending Master. So, youre an appointed master? ask Judi. Yes, there is more. When I was younger my birth mother had serious drug problems. My father was hardly ever around; when he was he sold drugs. I dont remember what he even looks like says Arious, who starts to feel a deep pain. For the memories of his birth parents, especially his mother Alexa Alcide, are scars that have not ever healed. One day, when I was very young, my mother had a serious overdose. She almost died and the city took me away from her. I was placed in the citys welfare agency. Soon after,

I was adopted by Yung and Sue at the age of two says Arious. One day, my master Meng, the one who appointed me, was injured heavily in battle. Yung and Sue found him in the alley behind the restaurant. Any ordinary man would have died from the wounds. Meng and Sue carried Meng inside and tended to him in the basement. He healed from his wounds in three days. Meng often told me that the first person he saw when he awoke was me. Meng was indebted to Yung and Sue. He talked with them when he recovered, and he found out that the two of them could not have any children of their own said Arious. Things were now making sense to Judi. Ariouss presence in Chinatown, his aversion to drugs and the Jai family which sold drugs. She felt for Arious. She felt pity for him. To show his gratitude for their help, Meng offered to train me for free. Sue had initially refused. Meng told Sue, that he had no children, and he had no one to pass on his fighting knowledge to. He assured Sue that he would train me to use my fighting knowledge for goodness. Soon after Sue agreed Tears well up in Ariouss eyes. Two years ago, my mother died from an overdose said Arious. Arious thinks back to the time when he was at his mothers side when she died from an overdose. He remembers being there with her and the great pain he felt when she died. At that time, Meng decided to proceed with my appointment says Arious. Arious is silent for a moment. He thinks back to the appointment ceremony. He then reflects on the time he spent developing his new powers. The mental training with Meng. For the past two years, Ive been learning to use the powers that I have been given says Arious. Still somewhat confused, Judi asks What is it that you have to learn? Well, there have been eighteen masters before me. Each master has a special fighting style that he passes on to the next. Using these styles requires that I learn them and meditate on them. Theyre in my mind; I just have to use them. Each master adds to the legacy by getting added to the legendary Scroll of the Masters says Arious. Still trying to understand everything that was said, Judi asks What is the Scroll of the Masters? Arious stands up and takes off his book bag. He then takes out the Scroll of the Masters and hands it to Judi. Judi looks at the weathered scroll, and takes it. She opens it and looks at the letters with confusion. She isnt familiar with the style of writing. She wonders what it is and who has created it.

This is the Scroll of the Masters. It contains each master and the special technique that he has contributed to the legacy of the Neverending Masters says Arious. Judi looks at the scroll with disbelief. So youre telling me that youre on this list? asks Judi. Despite everything she had witnessed and everything she had heard about Masternever, she had a hard time believing what she was being told. And at the same time, she felt that Arious was sincere, and he is truthful about something he has said. Nah, Im not on the list yet. I have to get a style and before Arious can continue, he is interrupted by Judi. You have to get a style? ask Judi. Right, like every other Neverending Master, I have to add my own style to the Scroll of the Masters replies Arious. Judi understands what Arious has told her. She shakes her head and smiles. Ariousthe Neverending Master says Judi with a hint of playfulness. Arious smiles. Nah, I call myself Masternever says Arious. Judi looks at Arious with a confused look on her face. I had to flip it, and come up with something on my own says Arious. The two look at one another and then laugh. Judi hands the scroll back to Arious and playfully pats him on the arm. I bet youre wishing that you took the blue pill on this one says Arious. Judi laughs. Well it is a bit to digest. But Im glad you told me. It helps me understand what I saw last night at club Sin. It also explains all of the things Ive been hearing about you over the past few months says Judi. So this is the reason you battle the Jai family? Not just them. A part of the legacy is to fight evil. The people in Chinatown keep to themselves. They dont have anyone to look after them. Some triad families extort businesses here, so that is the reason I have been involved. That and I have issues with drug dealers says Arious, whose demeanor becomes very serious. Because of your mother says Judi. So youre aware of the problem with the drug Ying Yang? asks Judi.

Yeah, and the Jai family has done a good job of keeping the production location to themselves. I have followed Jai a number of times, but he kept his hands free of production. He only touched the money says Arious. Arious, youve a brave guy, but what youre doing is dangerous says Judi. Arious is offended by the statement. He thinks to himself, I just saved this womans life last night! Yeah and what you do is dangerous too! replies Arious. Look! Im trained to do my job says Judi. So am I says Arious. Judi thinks about the statement that is made and she laughs. Look I have to go. Ill talk to you later says Arious. Before Judi can say anything Arious stands up, and walks away. Judi sits on the bench and thinks about what Arious has told her. Its a lot to process. She does see the value in having Arious on her side. In time, the two will become strong allies.

Chapter 28 Masternever was overwhelmed. He had several powerful new adversaries. He knew that I would be able to help him. He returned to my layer late one evening As he walks down the stairs to my layer, he sees new murals. The first is a portrait of Meng battling Mr. Lo. Meng is heavily bruised and bleeding in the portrait. Masternever is deeply concerned about the portrait. He thinks about Mengs safety. Was the mural a glimpse of something to come? he asks himself. He then walks to the next mural. He sees himself battling Mr. Lo who has the fighting spirit of Zhou Tong. The Soul Stealer stands by idly in the background. When he finally enters the inner layer, I sit at my desk, working on a document that I would reveal to him later. As he gets closer, I close the document. I want to thank you for your help I say. My help? Doing what? asks Masternever. I turn towards him and in my hand I reveal his device. You left your music machine here. It was a great help to me I say. Masternever is confused. Oh thanks. My iPod. I was hoping it was here. What did you need it for? he asks me, as he takes his music device. At that moment, I start interpreting a vision. I close my eyes and place my hands at my head. It has proven to be the element that was seen in my vision. It was this tool that I used to begin creating your style I say. As I speak, I am seeing more and more. Slowly I am seeing his style come to fruition. You used my iPod to create my style? he asks with concern. The machine ushered forth enlightenment. It proved to be the key ingredient, in knowing your person. Your machine was filled with knowledge, rhymes, riddles and poetry. I listened to these masters of rhyme deliver forth their knowledge with such speed, power and force that I knew that I must create a style that emulated that force I say. So then youre done? ask Masternever. I could sense the eagerness in his voice. Not yet. Once Im done, I will give you your style! I say. Masternever then thinks on the mural outside the chamber. I feared having to explain its contents to him. I saw a picture of Meng outside. Why is he fighting? he asks.

I knew this would be hard for the young Neverending Master to hear. I open my eyes. Arious, please sit here. Meng was here earlier. It was the first time I had seen him in many years I say. Arious becomes excited and very curious. Meng was here? For what? he asks. For at that time, I could not bring myself to explain the reason for Mengs visit in its entirety. Much of that would be explained by Meng himself. It was the first time I had seen him in a great many years I say, as I walk toward the center of the room where many of Mengs belongings lay, stacked neatly against the wall. Arious. Meng came here to say goodbye. He left many of his belongings here, and a note for you I say. Masternever then sees the pile of belongings. He recognizes some of the blankets and robes that are a part of the pile. I walk to him, and hand him the letter that was provided by his master. As he reads, I fall into a vision, seeing Meng as the letter is read. Arious, my dear friend. We have traveled a great distance together I then see Meng in his apartment. He stands in front of a mirror, and he is wearing his fighting attire of old. The straw hat, the black suit and black cape. I see a great pain in him. I then see Meng and Mr. Lo engaged in battle on an isolated street in Chinatown. For Meng had come to me, to find Mr. Lo. It has been an honor, and a pleasure to be a part of your life. As a teacher and more importantly a friend. There is much you do not understand. Soon, you will learn more about the great powers that have been bestowed upon you I then see Meng loosing the battle. He fairs badly. You will always be my friend. For now and forever. I must do something that will ensure your safety in the future I then see Meng on the ground. He is bruised heavily in the face, and he is bleeding from his eyes and mouth. Mr. Lo stands above him laughing. I then see Meng looking up at Mr. Lo, and he has an almost sinister smile on his face. Meng knows that he will be redeemed. Mr. Los disposition changes, and he becomes serious. He delivers a final kick to Meng.

That is the end of my vision. Mengs body would become a possession of the Soul Stealer. The Soul Stealer knew he could not take his soul, but he reveled in the delight of eating Mengs flesh. Remember my friend. You will never be alone. Your friend, Meng reads the letter. Masternever looks up from the letter. He is hurt. Tears run down his face. At seeing this, I become hurt for my new acquaintance. There is so much I cannot tell him now. What does this mean? Where is Meng? ask Masternever. He left some time ago, to fight your adversary I reply. Where is he? ask Masternever. It is too late for you to save him now. He has gone to the location of your adversaries I say. He has made this decision for your benefit My answer does not console Masternever. He turns and starts to leave the layer. It is too late! Meng has made the sacrifice for you! I say. My words fell short. Masternever left my layer, angry and wanting to know if everything I said was true.

Chapter 29 As Masternever races through the streets of Chinatown on his skateboard, towards Mengs apartment, he is spotted by a familiar face. When he enters, all of the windows are shut. The apartment is lifeless. Mengs plants are gone. The door to Mengs bedroom is wide open. Meng never did that before. He looks in the bedroom. The closet is empty. All of Mengs clothing and shoes are gone. Masternever realizes that Meng too is gone. He staggers back to the living room, and once there, he falls to his knees, and sobs heavily. Judi was the one who had seem him running. She enters the apartment. Her intentions were friendly and of concern. Masternever sees her and then looks up. He wipes his tears with his sweatshirt. Damn. Dont you ever fucking give up? he asks her. Take it easy I wasnt following you. I saw you running. I wanted to see if you were okay she replies. Judi senses Masternevers pain. She walks towards Masternever and sits on her knees next to him. She too is in a great deal of pain. The sight of Masternevers tears overwhelms her. Masternever then hands Judi the letter. As she reads it, she understands why Masternever is crying. She looks around briefly, and realizes that this was Mengs apartment. She puts an arm around him, to console him. He was my friend...my best friend says Masternever. I know how you feel. I know what it is like to loose someone you care for. My partner Gavin passed away last night says Judi. Masternever then looks at Judi. He can see great pain in her eyes that are filled with tears. Tears run down her face. She tries to remain composed. Your partner died? I thought he was in stable condition says Masternever. Yes, but he didnt make it says Judi who is barely able to form the sentence. Judi can no longer contain herself. She weeps for her departed friend. We were partners for two yearsWe both lost someone we cared for says Judi. The two look at one another. Masternever begins to wipe the tears of Judis face with his hands. Judi welcomes the affection. The two are drawn together. They kiss. At this time, they would console one another in love.

Chapter 30 As Masternever lay next to Judi. He felt overwhelmed. A surge of energy welled up from within. Masternever sits up and starts to get dressed. Judi who still rests under a blanket sits up. Whats wrong? she asks. I have to go. There are some things that I must take care of he replies. If it involves Mr. Lo, I want to help says Judi. Judi puts on her shirt and stands up. Masternever turns towards Judi and grabs her with his two arms. She feels his strength and firmness while he holds her. I have to go! he says. Masternever then kisses Judi and then walks to the apartment door. He looks back at her and then leaves. Judi is concerned about Masternever. Masternever rides on his skateboard through Chinatown. He races towards his parents restaurant, which is only a few blocks away from Mengs apartment. He loves them, and he fears for them. He reaches the rear entrance, removes his cap, and enters to find both Yung and Sue working in the kitchen. Yung looks at Arious, and he can see great pain. He stops cooking, and wipes his hands on his apron. Sue looks on with concern. Arious are you okay? ask Yung. Masternever walks to Yung and hugs him. Yung embraces Arious, and senses pain. Sue comes to Arious and hugs him. Arious, whats wrong. Why are you upset? she asks. I have to go says Arious tearfully. Masternever backs away from them and looks at them both. I love you both he says. He then turns and walks out of the back door. Yung consoles Sue. She begins to weep. For some time Yung has sensed something about Arious. He realizes that Arious is in great pain.

Masternever knew what lay ahead of him. Great danger, and possible calamity.

Chapter 31 Judi had been concerned with Ariouss whereabouts. She knew he was going to confront Mr. Lo on his own. She wanted to help him. She also wanted to avenge her departed partner. She decides to follow up on club Sin. So much had happened since Gavins shooting; she hadnt had a chance to investigate thoroughly. As she drives towards club Sin, her phone starts ringing. She looks at the number and recognizes it as the police station. Not now! she thinks. She arrives at club Sin. The main entrance has been taped and chained by the NYPD. She drives towards the rear. She exits her car, with a flashlight and firearm, and walks towards the rear entrance which had a new door. The door was chained. Judi uses her firearm and shoots several shots at the chains. Once the chains are broken, Judi manages to open the steel door, and make her way inside. There is complete darkness, and she uses her flashlight to find the way to Jais office. Once inside of his office, she looks around. She sees the damaged furniture and broken glass on the floor. She also notices papers scattered on the floor as well. She sees several file cabinets against a wall in the back of the office. She walks to the cabinet and uses the flashlight to examine the files. She takes her time and reviews the contents of the files. After an hour of reviewing files, she notices a number of invoices for the JAI GINSING TEA CO, which she found particularly interesting since the Jai family had stopped importing tea almost a year ago. She then remembers the location of the Jai warehouse. At that very time, Arious had returned to the land of Queens. He sits in front of a headstone that reads ALEXA ALCIDE Arious sits in the dark cemetery and weeps. He thinks of his mother. He thinks about visiting her in the hospital over the years. He wished at that moment, that he had a regular life. He misses his mother and is deeply pained. His sorrow soon turns to anger. He stands up and wipes his tears away. Masternever was now ready to face his adversaries, not matter what the outcome.

Chapter 32 While Judi is driving to the warehouse, the sky opens up in rain. With her headlights off, Judi drives down the dark street where the warehouse is located. She parks her car and exits. She goes to the trunk and gets a flashlight. She closes the trunk and checks her gun. The rain doesnt bother her as she starts across the street towards the warehouse. She decides to enter the warehouse through the rear. The rain is a perfect element for stealth. She creeps along the cramped sidewalk, which is obstructed by trucks and cargo bins from the warehouse. As she reaches the rear of the warehouse, she hides behind a dumpster. She checks the warehouses security. There appears to be almost none. She does see an older man poorly dressed and underfed standing at the rear of the warehouse. He stands under a platform smoking a cigarette. Based on the jeans and worn shirt, she surmises that he is a worker of some kind. The man discards his cigarette. He then heads inside. Judi follows him quietly and follows him through an old swinging metal door. She then hides behind a formation of boxes and crates. The warehouse is filled with boxes, that tower to the ceilings. Judi looks around the formation and the man is seen with several workers. Theyre moving boxes from one location to the next. Judi then makes her way into the depths of the warehouse. She reaches a section where there is sparse lighting. She quietly opens a few crates to find nothing but tea. This is a waste of time! she says to herself. As she prepares to exit, she sees Mr. Los henchmen, who have the fighting spirits of Lin Chong, Wu Song and Lu Junyi. The three walk by her as she hides at the side. She remembers the three from club Sin. This was the lead she was looking for. These three would lead her to Mr. Lo. Judi draws her gun and follows. She creeps along cautiously. The three henchmen enter a door at the far end. Judi runs up to the door after they have entered. She listens, and hears nothing. She opens the door slowly. There is no light. She enters the dark room. There is a deep cold in this room. She reaches for her flash light and turns it on. Suddenly there is laugh. She does not know, but the laugh belongs to the Soul Stealer. Suddenly all of the lights in the room come on. The three henchmen stand around her pointing their guns at her. She does not move. Wu Song steps forward and takes her weapon. She looks up and sees Mr. Lo and Lin Shantou looking down on her, from a platform. Judi trembles and fears for her life.

At that very instant, Masternever had arrived at my layer. As he walks the hallway that enters my layer, and he sees new murals. The first is Judi held captive in a room. Standing over her is Mr. Lo, who smiles. The next image causes him great confusion. It is him. He stands in a dark and cloudy room. Masternevers arms form an X. As he walks into my layer, I stand in front of my desk, holding a completed scroll. Those portraits, what has happened to Judi? he asks. I am almost afraid to tell him. He is so young. I dont want him to overreact and loose sight of his goal. But, I have to tell him. The young lady you care for has been abducted by your adversaries. Your adversaries are holding her captive, hoping that they will learn about your location. She refuses to tell them I say. I sense Masternevers rage. His clinch fists and angered face, speak of his pain. He must control himself if he is to succeed. Do you know where? he asks. It pains me to speak on Meng, for he was a close friend. The same location where your master fell. A large structure under the bridge I say. Although I do not specify the exact location, Masternever is able to figure out the location easily. He thinks about the area in Chinatown, and suddenly, he realizes the location. The warehouse on Mulberry Street he says. He is silent for a moment, and then asks the question which I have been waiting to answer. The other portrait of me? What is it? he asks. That is an image of you and your style! I respond with much excitement. Masternevers countenance changes. No longer angered, but interested. He looks at the scroll in my hand and realizes what I hold. So, youre complete? Youve completed my style? he asks. I extend my arm, which holds the multicolored scroll. Yes! Masternever, it is time for you to receive your style! I say.

To give each Neverending Master their style, there is a ritual, which is carried out. This evening we perform the ritual in my layer, in front of the shrine of Guan Yu, kneeling on our knees. We wear the sacred clothing that is worn during the ritual. The black robes signifying the birth of a new person. During the ceremony, we meditate until we communicate through thought. It is here, that I can show the Forgotten Hand style to Masternever and he can interpret parts of the vision at this time. It is there that the elements of his style are received. He sees text from the scroll in darkness, moving then still and then gone. He sees darkness. Suddenly he sees himself in a room that is black. The ground is soft, and he feels as though he is walking on earth. There is an empty cold air in the room. Suddenly he sees mist rising from the ground. Masternever keeps walking until a formation of men is seen. There are two formations. One on the right and one of the left. The formations are a comfortable distance from one another. He cannot make out the men who stand before him. Masternever then walks between the formations. While walking through the formation, he sees silhouettes of the men who stand in the formations. The men move, but he cannot see their faces. He sees their shadowy outline in the darkness. As he walks, he hears strange murmurings, from the sides of the formations. Is he ready? asks one voice. He looks too young! says another He is not supposed to be here! says a final voice. Masternever is frightened. He reaches the end of the formation, and there, stands Meng. He wears a black robe with white lining. Meng looks at Masternever confidently. Masternever is overcome with joy at seeing his Master. He is ready! says Meng, as he nods in approval, with great pride in his student. The vision comes to an end. Arious wakes up in his bedroom. He stands in the middle of his bedroom. How did I get here? he wonders. He looks around his room to make sure what he sees is real. He looks at his clothing and then he looks at himself in a mirror. He feels different, empowered, and confident. He is ready to take on Mr. Lo and the Soul Stealer.

He adorns himself with the garments that will come to be legendary. The hat ,that bears the emblem of the great city. His sneakers, which have vanquished many enemies. His book bag, and finally his skateboard. He then looks at himself in the mirror. He is fully prepared. He then sees the scroll that was provided by Majid. He looks at it and now, he can understand it. He now feels a new confidence. He places the scroll inside of his book bag. He then reflects on the words from his master. Remember, you will never be alone!

Chapter 33 Masternever slows down his skateboard, as he nears the warehouse. There is light rain. He stops a half a block away from the warehouse and looks at it. He has great fear at first, but he is suddenly overcome with a great sense of courage. Everything is so clear to him. The air although foggy, is crisp. The area is silent. Nothing is heard except a tugboat blowing its horn in the waters nearby. Masternever arrives at a service entrance. Two workers unload boxes from a truck and prepare them for the warehouse. Masternever is on top of the truck, looking down at the men working. He jumps down behind the men, and does not make a sound. The two men sense a strong gust of air. They see nothing and continue working. Once inside Masternever moves along stealthily. He notices the boxes in the warehouse. Is this the location where Ying Yang is produced? he asks himself. Masternever moves along and stops at a corner within the warehouse. He peeks around the corner. A henchman is sitting on a crate, eating a sandwich in front of an elevator. He holds an automatic weapon. The henchman is oblivious to anything around him. Masternever knocks on the wall next to him. The henchman hears the noise and immediately stands up. He walks towards the corner and sees nothing. The warehouse is notorious for odd sounds, due to its infestation with rats. He figures it is nothing and turns around. As he turns, he his met by Masternevers fists. Masternever grabs the man's neck and chokes him. The henchman cannot release Masternevers grip. He falls to the earth, dead. Masternever does not take the elevator. It would be too obvious. He looks around for a staircase to use instead. He finds one to the right hand side of the elevator and quietly descends. Masternever reaches the basement level. He peaks through an old rusted door. He can see the laboratory that is being used to process Ying Yang. There are three long, white, tables. All of the workers wear face masks, gloves, and aprons. Masternever thinks about what he sees on the three tables. The first is where the imported cocaine is cut, and chemically diluted. There are mounds of cocaine on the table. On the second table, there is imported opium. On the third table, there are a number of chemicals, and he sees the workers mixing the opium and cocaine together. The powder is placed in a plastic tub with a chemical solution. Masternever has seen enough. He kicks the door open. The workers are startled. A henchman comes from the far side of the laboratory room. He starts shooting with his automatic weapon. Masternever dodges the series of bullets. The workers start to exit the lab frantically. Masternever rests behind a column as the henchman shoots in a frenzy.

As the shots ring out from the depths of the warehouse, Mr. Lo sits in an office at the top of the building. The office once belonged to Tony Jai. Like everything that Tony owned, they have become the property of Mr. Lo. The office is more of a large storage room that was turned into an office. There are windows that line the side and back of the office. There is a wooden floor. He sits at a wooden desk, using a money counter to count stacks of money that sit on the desk. Mr. Lo looks up. He smiles. He is here says Lin Shantou, who steps from the darkness. Just as you planned replies a confident Mr. Lo. Mr. Lo stands up, and then looks to the corner of the room where Judi is tied and gagged. You are of no further use to me young lady says Mr. Lo, who then starts walking towards Judi. The Soul Stealer is ever cautious. Wait! Do not dispose of her yet. Not until the Neverending Master is dead! he says. In the basement, Masternever continues to dodge the henchmans bullets. The henchman now stands in the middle of the room. While firing at Masternever, he has started a fire, by shooting at the chemicals on the third table. The entire table is now engulfed in flames. There are a series of small explosions that come from the table. The henchman changes the clip in his automatic weapon. He then looks into the fire. Masternever jumps over the table, through the fire, and kicks the henchman in the chest. The kick is lethal, and the henchman falls to the floor. The solvents that were on the table have spilled over, and now the laboratory catches on fire. Masternever looks at the henchman briefly. He then hears the sound of the elevator. More henchman? he wonders. The elevator door opens. Out steps Lin Chong, Wu Song and Lu Junyi. Masternever stands before them with confidence. Wu Song stands a few feet in front of Masternever. Lin Chong stands to Masternevers left, and Lu Junyi stands to the right. Lin Chong attacks with a barrage of punches. Masternever blocks the punches. Masternever retaliates and manages to hit Lin Chong with two clean punches. Seeing that his partner is being bested, Wu Song joins in. Wu attacks with kicks and punches. Masternever blocks attacks from both fighters. Lu Junyi then attacks Masternever from behind with a kick to Masternevers back. The kick sends Masternever to the ground in pain. Masternever shakes off the pain, and returns to his feet.

Masternever then attacks with the Fist of the Wind technique against Wu Song. Each of the attacks is blocked by Wu Song. Masternever stops the attack and is surprised that Wu Song could avoid the punches. Wu Song smirks at Masternever. Lu Junyi and Lin Chong again attack Masternever simultaneously. Lu Junyi strikes at Masternever while he is near a wall. Junyis blows go through the wall. Masternever rolls on the floor to avoid the attack, and then is attacked by Lin Chong, who uses hand movements that resemble a claw. Masternever is struck and falls to the floor. Before Masternever can get to his feet, Wu Song attempts a flying assault, to land on Masternever. Masternever rolls and avoids the attack. Wu Songs feet make an impression in the floor. Wu Song turns quickly and raises his foot and strikes at Masternever who is on the floor next to him. Masternever catches his foot as it reaches his neck. Masternever holds Wu Songs foot and he struggles for air. At the same time Wu Song applies pressure. Masternevers face is scarred and he perspires. Wu Song feels that victory is near. He smiles as he forces his leg on Masternevers throat. Masternever feels himself weakening. Lin Chong and Lu Junyi stand by and look on, knowing that Masternever is near defeat. Masternever then drifts off into a vision. He sees past Neverending Masters performing their techniques. Masternever then hears Mengs voice. YOU WILL NEVER BE ALONE! Masternever is revived from the vision. He is filled with a surge of energy. He pushes Wu Songs foot back. Masternever then flips up onto his feet. Wu Song is startled but he attacks. Masternever then hears the voice of Meng in his mind. With the direction of Meng, Masternever commences with the Execution of the Scroll. Paws of the Dragon! says Meng. Masternever switches to the Dragon stance. As he switches styles, an apparition like figure appears next to him. Whenever a Neverending Master executes the scroll, past Never Ending Masters appear in an apparition like form, next to him. Masternever strikes with a fury of claw like punches. Wu Song falls back into some boxes that have caught on fire. Seeing this Lu Junyi attacks.

Tail of the Serpent! says Meng. As Lu Junyi attacks, he is met with a series of sweeping kicks from Masternever. The speed at which Masternever delivers these spinning kicks, brings forth sounds of a blade in motion. Junyi is struck at his side, and falls to the ground. Lin Chong attacks with a series of punches. Golden Fox Technique! says Meng. Masternever answers Lin Chong with a fury of punches faster and more powerful than Lin Chongs. Lin falls to the ground. Winged Dragon! says Meng. Masternever attacks with an aerial kicking attack. As he flips forward, he delivers kicks on the tail end of his jump. Junyi is struck in the head by a kicks and he falls to the ground. Wu Song charges forth. Bronze Mirror Technique! says Meng. Wu Song attacks with a series of punches, but Masternevers defense makes his arms feels like bronze, and Wu Song damages his own hands with each attempted blow. Wu Song staggers to the side in pain. Masternever then strikes Wu Song in the head, and Wu falls to the floor. Lin Chong attacks again. Fury of the Rain! says Meng. A weary Lin Chong charges forth. He is assaulted by a barrage of spinning kicks and punches. Lin Chong falls to the earth, dead. Lu Junyi charges forth. Six Dynasties of Steel! says Meng. Wu Song joins Junyi and Masternever simultaneously blocks blows from both of them. Masternever then strikes Lu Junyi with a series of body punches. For the Six Dynasties of Steel technique make Masternevers hands feel like steel. As he strikes, the sound of broken bones are heard. Lu Junyi falls to the ground dead, with blood streaming from his mouth. Wu Song remains. He strikes at Masternever with a series of punches. Black Dragon! says Meng. Wu Songs punches are deflected. Using the Black Dragon technique, Masternever counters, and strikes with both arms simultaneously. This is done three times, and on the final strike, Wu Song spins, and falls to the ground dead.

That would be the end of the henchman who had been given the souls of Chinas past! By this time, Masternever although in pain, feels confident enough to defeat Mr. Lo. For he has just executed the scroll. Masternever then enters the elevator, and leaves behind the bodies to be consumed in the laboratory fire.

Chapter 34 The warehouse only has three floors; the basement, the concourse level and the third. Masternever selects the third floor, as he rides the elevator from the basement. As Masternever rides up the elevator, to the top floor, he hears the fire spreading throughout the other floors. He realizes that he has little time to save Judi before the fire consumes the entire building. When he exits the office he sees Lin Shantou. Next to Lin Shantou, he sees Judi strapped and gagged in a chair. I have waited too long for this moment. Too long, to reap the rewards of your destruction says the Soul Stealer. Mr. Lo then steps from behind a column in the room. Masternever isnt phased. More than anything he is angry and looking forward to the end of Mr. Lo. Young master, youve caused a great deal of trouble. We will now finish what we started. I will finally put an end to your meddling says Mr. Lo. Lin Shantou looks on with excitement. He smiles in anticipation of Masternevers destruction. Masternever looks over at Judi and he can see the concern in her eyes. Masternever and Mr. Lo walk toward one another. They stand a few feet apart from one another, in a fighting stance. As they look at one another, the sounds of the fire that consumes the building are heard. Masternever had heard enough of Mr. Lo. He attacks with a jumping kick, followed by several punches. Mr. Lo avoids each attack with slight movements of his head or body. Mr. Lo does so with such ease. Mr. Lo responds by striking Masternever with an open handed strike to the chest. Masternever then falls back into a stack of boxes. Judi closes her eyes when she sees this. She feels that she is the reason why Masternever is there, and she blames herself for what is happening. The Soul Stealer is delighted. Yes! Yes! exclaims Lin. For he feels that his hour is at hand. Mr. Lo walks to the area where Masternever has fallen. He looks for Masternever in the stack of boxes. Masternever flips upward using the Fist of the Wind attack. He overwhelms Mr. Lo with a barrage of punches, that move Mr. Lo backwards. However, Mr. Lo is able to block each, matching Masternevers speed. Masternever stops his attack and looks at Mr. Lo with confusion. He wonders how Mr. Lo can successfully counter all of his attacks. He then realizes that the Soul Stealer must have told him about the many styles of the Neverending Masters. For although he cannot learn the styles, he can defend against them.

Seeing Masternevers frustration causes delight for Mr. Lo. He then starts to laugh. Mr. Lo strikes with a series of punches. Masternever blocks the strikes but he too is pushed backwards. Im going to end this legacy once and for all. You will soon join your dead master soon enough! says Mr. Lo. Masternever is enraged, and then he uses the Nine Headed Serpent technique. Masternevers form then appears nine times around Mr. Lo. Each of the nine forms attack, and Mr. Lo predicts each attacker and blocks them all. Mr. Lo steps forward, and kicks Masternever in the face. Masternever falls back and the nine forms disappear. Masternever quickly returns to his feet, and uses the Dragon King technique. He attacks Mr. Lo with a series of claw like strikes. Mr. Lo is able to dodge and block the attacks. Mr. Lo steps back, and straightens out his clothing. He fixes his tie and then his shirt. I am prepared for anything that you deliver says Mr. Lo confidently. The fire is growing larger in the room as the entire building is now on fire. Lin Shantou has moved away from Judi, and this gives her a chance to push herself out of the chair she is in, and roll under a desk. Masternever looks at Judi and sees the tears in her eyes. Mr. Lo sees the hopelessness in Masternever, and he begins to laugh. This amuses the Soul Stealer who laughs as well. I have seen every style that there is says Mr. Lo. Finish him now! says Lin Shantou. Masternever realizes that he must act quickly. For it is time for him to use a style that no master has seen. For the Soul Stealer could not prepare Mr. Lo for this style. It is impossible. For this style, is an unseen style. Masternever crosses his arms in the form of an X. He lowers his head and then disappears. Mr. Lo looks around the room. He is no longer smiling. Lin Shantou steps forward and is curious as to Masternevers whereabouts. There is a vibrating sound that is heard in the room. It causes the room to tremble. A loud buzz is heard during the trembling. Suddenly there is quiet. Masternever steps forth, with a bluish flame around him. He appears as an apparition. Only the top part of his torso is seen. He strikes with an open handed strike, that ushers

forth a vibrating sound, that does not make physical contact with Mr. Lo. However, Mr. Lo feels the force, and he goes flying into the wall. Masternever disappears again. Mr. Lo stands from the blow and looks around as he wipes the blood from his mouth and nose. Masternever appears again, striking at Mr. Lo with an upward, striking motion. Masternever still does not make physical contact, but the force from the strike is stronger than physical contact. Masternever disappears again. The Soul Stealer becomes concerned. No! he shouts. Mr. Lo returns to his feet. Masternever then reappears delivering a kick. His body is still in apparition like form with the bluish flame. The force from the kick sends Mr. Lo flying toward the center of the room. Mr. Lo staggers to his feet. He is badly bruised in his face and torso. Masternever reappears, and attacks Mr. Lo with a barrage of punches and strikes. None of these make physical contact, but the force from the blows, and the sound vibration that is created, are just as forceful. Mr. Lo falls to the floor. Masternever then materializes, and stands over Mr. Lo looking at him. Mr. Lo is near death. He is confused. For the fighting knowledge that he possessed was all-knowing. The Soul Stealer had told him about the styles of the Never Ending Masters. During his last breaths, he wonders how this could have happened. I have never seen the likes of that style. It is impossible, that style is utters a weak Mr. Lo. That style, is the Flow of Death says Masternever confidently. Mr. Lo then coughs up a large amount of blood. He falls back and dies with his eyes open. Masternever then runs towards Judi. He quickly removes the gag and the rope in which she is tied. Masternever! says Lin, who stands in front of a sea of flames. We shall meet again! says the Soul Stealer who then runs and jumps into the flames that have consumed the building. In the fire, the laugh of Lin Shantou is heard. Masternever helps Judi to her feet. He opens a window and uses a fire escape to carry her down. When they reach the bottom, they cross the street from the warehouse. Masternever looks at the building as he helps Judi to the ground. The warehouse is engulfed in flames. Masternever suddenly hears sirens. Arious, you should go now says Judi. Im okay, but you have to go!

Are you okay ask Masternever. Judi kisses him. Im fine, just go! she says. As the police cars and fire engine round the corner, they find Judi on the curb across the street from the warehouse, alone. The officers run to her. She shows them her badge. They tend to Judis medical needs and take a report from her.

Chapter 35 The next day, is like any other for Arious Alcide. He has cleaning work to do in his parents kitchen. He is to make sure all of the utensils are clean before the day begins. He likes to watch television while he works. He turns on the small portable television that rests on the sink in front of him. Good afternoon, Im David Alverado says David. Good afternoon, Im Nora Ortiz says Nora. Well, the NYPD has finally rid the city, of the worst drug plague in years. The police have found the location where the drug Ying Yang was created. The police say that a worker set the place on fire after a detective, who chooses to be anonymous, infiltrated the warehouse say David. Arious laughs to himself. Also in Chinatown, local religious leaders are celebrating the end of several weird religious practices which they referred to as Soul Stealing. They say that the warehouse fire was an omen that the evil spirits have left Chinatown says Nora. Masternever sighs and smiles. He then turns off the television. He feels a sense of pride and happiness. Yung walks into the kitchen area. Arious, take some time off. Youre a young guy. Go out and get some air says Yung. Masternever is confused. You deserve a break. Get out and do stuff that young people do says Yung. Yung starts to walk back towards the front of the store. He turns and smiles at Arious, winking his eye. Arious takes off his apron, and puts on his book bag and grabs his skateboard. He exits the restaurant, and enjoys the summer weather. Hey, young master says Judi. Judi had been waiting in the alley. She had called and spoken to Yung and told him that Arious had been of service to the police department. Judi hugs Masternever and then gives him a kiss. What is that for asks Arious. Someone has to show you some appreciation. Youre an unsung hero says Judi. The two start walking toward the entrance of the alley.

So whats up next? she asks. I was thinking about taking some time for myself. Perhaps finding a woman says Arious, playfully. Oh, really, what kind of woman? she asks. I dont know, I was thinking about a cute Chinese woman, kinda sexy looking says Arious. Let me know if you see any woman like that around says Arious. Judi then punches Arious in the arm playfully. The two stop and kiss. They then continue to walk down the lively Chinatown Street. For it is a great day. Young and old enjoy the weather. And that is the way it came to be, that a new style was added to the legacy of the Neverending Masters. A new style took its place among the heavens. For this is the tale of one, who was born from New York City and he would make his mark in the heavens. Masternever and the Flow of Death! THE END
