(8) The crust of armor controls cable;

(9) Neutral point of high-voltage electrical equipment and transformer. Two

earth connections shall be made to the transformer tank。

7.CABLING STRUCTURE

The cabling structure is mainly overhead cable tray assisted with cable
trench.

All cable trays are of ladder type construction. There is a maximum

spacing of 2000mm between cable tray supports.

For cable routing which space is enough, Not more than one layer of
power cables and two layers of control or instrumentation or
communication cable is installed on a tray.

18
Cables shall be separated to ensure electromagnetic compatibility
between various types of cables. For this purpose all cables are to be
categorised into four types, namely:

Type 1: H.V. power cables i.e. 6.6kV cables

Type 2: L.V. power cables i.e. 400V/230 AC or 220V DC

Type 3: Control cables i.e. 230V AC and DC from 24-48V DC;

analogue/digital signals; redundancies

Type 4: Communications cables i.e. Telephones, data networks, LAN’s

The minimum separation between the various “Types” shall be as follows:

Type 1 to Type 2: 100mm

Type 1 to Type 3 or 4: 300mm

Type 2 to Type 3 or 4: 300mm

Type 3 or Type 4: 100mm

These separation distances may be smaller for short runs where cables
enter cubicles of crossover or encounter an obstruction (e.g. pipe).

The sides of a cable tray shall be capable of withstanding without

permanent deflection a 20kg force acting at a point 60o to the horizontal
midway between support, simultaneously with a distributed cable load
exerting a pressure of 1000N/m2 and concentrated mass of 100 kg
midway between the side. Cable tray shall not deflect more than 2 mm
when loaded with cables.

Cable ladders shall be connected to the site earthing system every 30

meters

Cable tray fittings have a radius equal to or greater than the minimum
bending radius of the cables they contain.

The design vertical clearance for trays is 150 mm or 200mm. A working

19
space of not less than 400mm will be maintained on at least one side of
each tray.

Cable galvanizedconduit will be used to protect unarmored conductors

routed to individual devices in hazardous areas and where the quantity of
cable does not economically justify the use of cable tray.

The cable pass-way between main building and auxiliary plant is overhead
cable tray or cable trench.

Cables above 0m floor are supported by overhead cable trays and Cables
below 0m floor supported by cable racks. The cable conduit is of
water-gas pipe type.

The cable routing from the main plant to the CWP area is thought the coal
conveyor.

8.CABLE FIRE PROOFING:

In the main passage-way, fire proof cable trays, fire proof walls of bags
filled with fireproof material or fireproof barrier-layers are set up
sectionally.

Sealed fireproof material is installed at inlets of switchgear, cable shafts

and two ends of cable conduits.

Fireproof walls with fireproof bags of cable trenches is set up at the

entrance to buildings.
