Title : Network Connectivity and Topology Design for ABC Sdn. Bhd.

Introduction:
This technical report presents the proposed network connectivity and topology design for
ABC Sdn. Bhd., a new company with four separated blocks: Admin, Operation, Marketing,
and a central Computer Center room. The objective of this design is to establish a robust and
efficient network infrastructure that provides seamless connectivity and server facilities to all
staff members. This report outlines the project description, network design, configuration
details, costing considerations, and concludes with the proposed solution.

Objective:
The main objective of this project is to design and implement a network infrastructure that
meets the following criteria:

1. Provide reliable and high-speed network connectivity across all blocks and the
Computer Center room.
2. Establish secure communication channels to safeguard sensitive company data.
3. Facilitate centralized server facilities accessible to all staff members.
4. Ensure scalability and flexibility to accommodate future expansion or changes in
network requirements.

Network Design:
The proposed network design for ABC Sdn. Bhd. is based on a hierarchical structure,
utilizing a combination of wired and wireless connectivity. The core components of the
network design include:

1. Core Switch: Located in the Computer Center room, the core switch acts as the
central point for network connectivity and provides high-speed communication
between different blocks.
2. Distribution Switches: Each block (Admin, Operation, and Marketing) will have a
dedicated distribution switch to connect the devices within that block to the core
switch.
3. Access Points: Wireless access points will be strategically placed across the premises
to provide wireless connectivity to mobile devices and laptops.
4. Server Room: A dedicated server room will house the company's servers, ensuring
secure and reliable access to centralized resources.
The proposed network design follows a star topology, with the core switch at the center and
the blocks connected as spokes. Each block will have its own subnet to logically separate the
network traffic and enhance security.

Project Description:
The network design project will involve the following key activities:

1. Physical installation of network devices, including switches, access points, and

cabling infrastructure.
2. Configuration of network devices, including IP addressing, VLANs, and routing
protocols.
3. Implementation of security measures, such as firewalls, access control lists, and
encryption protocols.
4. Integration of server facilities within the Server Room to ensure seamless access to
centralized resources.
5. Testing and verification of network connectivity, performance, and security.

Configuration:
The network devices will be configured according to the following specifications:

1. Core Switch: Cisco Catalyst 9500 Series with Layer 3 capabilities for efficient routing
between blocks and the server room.
2. Distribution Switches: Cisco Catalyst 3850 Series for reliable and high-speed
connectivity within each block.
3. Access Points: Cisco Aironet 3800 Series for seamless wireless connectivity with
advanced security features.
4. Server Room: Rack-mounted servers with redundant power supplies, RAID
configurations, and appropriate security measures.
Configuration details, including IP addressing, VLAN setup, routing protocols, and security
settings, will be provided in the appendix of this report.
Costing:
The estimated costing for this network design project includes the following elements:

1. Network devices: Core switch, distribution switches, access points, and related
equipment.
2. Cabling infrastructure: Ethernet cables, fiber optics, connectors, and patch panels.
3. Server facilities: Rack cabinets, servers, UPS units, cooling systems, and related
accessories.
4. Installation and configuration services: Labor costs for network setup, device
configuration, and testing.
5. A detailed cost breakdown will be provided in the appendix, along with vendor
quotations and any additional considerations.

Conclusion:
The proposed network connectivity and topology design for ABC Sdn. Bhd. aims to provide
a robust and secure network infrastructure that meets the company's requirements for
seamless connectivity and centralized server facilities. The hierarchical network design, along
with appropriate configuration and security measures, ensures efficient communication,
scalability, and future-proofing. The estimated costing provides an overview of the financial
aspects involved in implementing this design.
