During the door opening the TLG is not being evaluated by the door control. The TLG, however, evaluates the separate light beams and automatically determines the position of the closing ede. I the open door is idle and the light beam becomes interrupted, the door control receives a TLG ‘message so that a closing of the door is prevented, Ifthe door is closing and a light beam becomes interrupted, the TLG again signals 2 corresponding ‘message fo the door contro! so that the door travel will be interrupted. AAfier no obstacle remained in the door, all beams are free and the door will be closed. When the. ‘losing edge meets the light beams during closing, the edge itself finally covers the beams “> the TGL, hhowever, depending on the "CLOSE DOOR" travel sequentially deactivates these light beams which by then had become unnecessary, The system is even able to automatically detect different closing speeds at that stage. A sudden stop. (of a door travel reversal will also be evaluated safely. The TLG here works quite self-sufficient; only {door control information is required. "Door is traveling" or “Door is not travelling" 4.1 Schematic description pay [pera G = eurnnarn are a ‘The beam density is divided into three groups: Group very dense (45 mm): this group concerns “floor level light beams up to ca. 355 mm (8 beams). Group Ia trensport system is to be installed temporarily (0. ¢. conveyer belt) within the closing plane, the oor control must be able to synchronise itself on this obstacle (temporarily) In this case a “synchronisation start control switch’ wil be fit info the switch gear cabinet. This ‘switch signals the controller that it has to re-synchronise. The same information willbe transmitted to the TLG This start control switch has to be a key switch and must be operated only by trained personnel, |n order to make this work with the TLG, ight beams that are concealed by the obstacle have to be suppressed. These beams are no longer part of the active protection area, Ths is achieved through shitting of the Sync beam (upwards), Example: ‘A conveyer belt has a height of ca. 750 mm. Thus beam 12 (ca. 715 mm) is still covered while beam 19 (ca. 805 mm) is already free, Line 13 is now the active Syne beam ‘The suppression starts as follows: ‘Through activating the “Sync_In" input in the TLG (using the key switch. Incase the state ofthis input becomes high the TLG memorises the states ofall covered lines from bottom to top, starting with the Syne beam, Please mind: 8) The door must be completely open so that only beams are memorised which are really covered, b) The beams must be concealed by the obstacle permanently ©) The maximum height that can be suppressed is 895 mm, that is beam 14 (In this case the Syne beam would be beam), 4) The door must not be moving — no travel command from the door contra Important: ‘The user has to ensure that all beams below the suppressed area (ramp, or conveyor belt) are covered, ‘The suppression must be re-set fo ils initial stale by the operator (inthis Instance by the specialised, lwained personne!) after the cbstacie has been removed. The order of actions ‘s the same as at star Lup of the suppression — in this case, howover, with a free path of ray forall lines. Please mind: This type of suppression must not be used If this measure influences the access area in such a way that this could lead to the danger of a crush injury according to prEN12453:1996 par. 4. 1. 1.(e. 9 ramps which are used by persons), TUG Manual for Technicians V7 Paget 2 System components 24 NEW 22 NEW General ‘The system includes a transmitter and a receiver unit which together cover the active monitored area (protection area), ‘As soon as an object which is larger than the respective resolution is in this position of the protection aree, is within the protection area, the output of the system (Schutz_Out 1) becomes. deactivated, and a detected object Is signalled. The characteristic feature of the TLG system is that the door which also covers light beams while it is being closed will nol be detected as an object The detection of the door works through sequenti {examination of all ight beams. The door thus covers the ight beams sequentially as it is moving ‘The system detects this and adapts the size of the monitored protection area accordingly. So if a light beam is no longer covered sequentially, this is definitely an object and not the moving dor. in this case the system output switches the safely output on "Schutzfeld bedeckt” ("protection area covered"), {In order to make it impossible to deceive the system by simulating a door movement, the systern is. connected to the door control or frequency inverter (input "Tor_In"). AS soon as the door is moving the TLG system receives a corresponding message, and the door movement is being monitored, ‘The transmitter and receiver units consist of a number of circuit boards which are interconnected through cable connectors, and are positioned in one common plastic profile. The plastic material is transparent to infrared light ‘The system can be varied as to its size, or number of ight beams to be monitored, Now this ean even be done using software. There are three ways of using hardware instead: 24, 22, and 20 lines, A standard system has 24 light beams, and it covers a 2.5 m height protection area, Depending on the door height you now can use less or additional active light beams. Interface (Gee also 6.1 Overviow inputs and outputs) Inputs: -Tora = Door control or frequency inverter message when the deer is moving, = Syne_In = Message when synchronisation line is to be re-memorised (beam euppression, see point 2.6) Outputs: = Schutz_Out1 => Safety output "Schutzfeld belegt” Schutz Out2 = Second separate output, ‘malfunction (system monitoring) = Syne_Out = Door synchranisation ine output {ntemal bus interface: ‘Communication between transmitter and receiver via 2 RS485 interface. ‘Extemal bus interface: ‘Communication between TLG2 and contol unit via CAN BUS interface. Connection: ‘The connection works through a fixed cable with integrally cast plugs, The units can be swifly replaced by removing just two screws. 2.3 Resolution Area 1 45 mm (Check with B body according to prEN 12445, 2000) Area 2 ‘20 mm (Check with A body according to prEN 12445, 2000) Area 3 +180 mm (Check with A bedy according to prEN 12445, 2000) Page? To eneure {his headed screws with the corresponding defined lengths must be used. ‘The actual profile requires a M 8x20 mm screw with an U pane, : 9 ‘This U pane Is vital; De rinfes failure to use the U pane may cause damage to the housing through squashing. ‘The screws for mounting the rails, however, do not require U panes (so you screw them in as usual). The bottom screw is designed to fix the light curtain atthe top. The remaining screws may be dimensioned (or fixed) in such a way thatthe light curtain is fixed in the profile but stil has enough ‘space to move during temperature changes. TUG? In order to prevent damage to the TLG oF the cable, we recommend, before starting work, to remove the TLG from the profile in case it sticks out ofthe rails. i i j Page TLG2 Manual for Technicians V1.1 ‘The set comprises a receiver and transmitter edge as well as two hook-up cables, Special features Transmitter and receiver do not need to be operated in pairs, that is, transmitter or receiver can be replaced separately. The cables remain in the frame if they are not damaged 2 This picture shows the TLG2 components, e 27 Replacement in case of service 1. Opening the lock bolts (fat lens-head M 8x20 mm with U pane) in the guide profile Teking TLG out forward as far as possible, 3. Loosing screws of the upper end cap unti they release the TLG housing (profile) but stil remain fixed in the cap. Important: Before pulling off the end cap with the integrated plug, please firmly hold the circuit board in order to prevent it from slipping off the profile. ~ 4. The replacement assembly groups are delivered together with ti dust covers. Screw off these covers just shomtly before ‘mounting, and be careful that no dit or ether alien material ‘can enter the housing "Now you can replace the transmitter or receiver unit. 6. Before screwing down make sure that the sealing is not damaged or heavily squashed and that itis stil tight. Please remove the sealing ifnecessary, 7. Lock the defective unit wth the dust cap of the service part and relum ito the factory including a detailed deseription of faut. Please note: ‘The receiver becomes connected through a 12-pole cable. Two of the conductors are reserved for the CAN BUS. This applies to the two-colour red J blue and grey / pink conductors. Ifthe CAN BUS is not used please isolate them by cutting off the connector TUG Manual for Technicians Vi Page 10 34 33 3.4 NEW Special features The following points define the co-operation between the TLG system and the door control and / or serve justo enhance the system comfort ‘Synchronisation with door control Without the help of TLG: ‘fier power up at first the ‘DOOR CLOSED" pesition becomes determined through the contact bar With the help of TLG: At first the “TOR AUF" position becomes determined! So after power up the door at first must be ‘opened and synchronised. The door control determines the "TOR AUF” position automatically. It ‘eoeives the "DOOR CLOSED" position information from the TLG through the Syne_Out output ‘The "Sync_Out" output forthe synchronisation starts at the moment the Syne beam becomes interrupted, In the automatic operating state of the door control a nonsequentia interruption ofthe light beams, including the Syne beem, leads to a door travel reversal. The door opens up to position “END. OBEN" or intermediate hold. Ths intermediate hold of course may take place within the TLG area of beams, Thus the door can also be closed if itis in the intermediate hold state Special case: | during power up the door is already closed the TLG receives a corresponding message and no synchronisation must be carried out = the door is ready for operation instently (As an option this function can be selected by the door control.) Gating physical disturbances ‘To ensure that in case of heavy rain or snowall the functions ofthe light curtain are not disturbed - 50 that the door fails to close or re-open -“inteligentfiters" are integrated in the software. The system analyses the type of "beam interruption” and reacts accordingly. This feature, however, does not increase the danger to persons or objects arising out of door operation as the door always opens and does not close in case of malfunction, ‘The safety system being optical, cleaning of the TLG optical surface will be necessary from time to time. Doing so itis sufficient to wipe the plastic surface with 2 soft cloth or brush. Do not use any aggressive cleaning agent, System height extension over 2.5 m door height ‘As a standard, the TLG uses a maximum of 24 lines. AAs already said, the maximum monitoring height is fixed at 2515 mm. ‘The system can be extended to a total of $2 lines. The circuit boards available allovr the height to be extended to just under a 5400 mm monitoring height. Realisation: A larger profle is used which is equipped with additional 180 grid circult boards. ‘The light beem number is defined depending on the door height and local conditions, in other words, itis customised. These additional beams do not need to be realised as safety beams according to the standards, {Aitematively, separste light barriers can be mounted in the frame.) System height reduction below 2.6 m door height For doors up to 2.0 m we will eemove cicuit boards. ‘The current software allows deactivation of separate beams Thus intermediate values can be oblained.
