I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, students should be able to:
1. Describe the different dimensions of visual information and media.
2. Comprehend how visual information and media is/are formally and informally produced, organized, and
disseminated.
3. Evaluate the reliability and validity of visual information and media and its/their sources using selection criteria.

1) Conduct an interactive quiz where students have to identify and describe different dimensions of
visual information and media.
2) Show examples of visually appealing advertisements and ask students to analyze the techniques
used to engage the audience.
3) Present a controversial image or video clip and engage students in a debate on its impact and
message.

B. DISCUSSION AND ANALYSIS:

Activity 1: Visual Analysis


Teaching Strategy: Think-Pair-Share
Materials: Various images from different media sources
Significance: Develops critical thinking skills and enhances visual literacy
Instructions:
1) Show an image and ask students to individually analyze its different dimensions, such as color,
composition, and symbolism.
2) Pair students up and have them discuss their analysis, considering different perspectives and
interpretations.
3) Facilitate a class discussion where each pair shares their analysis and encourages further exploration.

Rubric:
- Identification of different visual dimensions: 5 pts
- Thorough analysis and interpretation: 5 pts
- Effective communication of ideas: 5 pts

Assessment Questions:
1) What visual elements contribute to the overall message of the image?
2) How does the use of color impact the viewer's interpretation of the image?
3) Explain how the composition of the image enhances its effectiveness.

 By understanding the different dimensions of visual information and media, students can analyze and
interpret various forms of media more effectively. They can identify the techniques used in the production,
organization, and dissemination of visual information.

APPLICATION: Teaching Strategy: Project-Based Learning

 Task 1 - Create a multimedia presentation showcasing the different dimensions of visual information in a
chosen topic.
 Task 2 - Analyze a news article and evaluate the reliability and validity of the visual information presented.

1) Conduct research on a current social issue and create an infographic that presents visual information
effectively.
2) Analyze a documentary film and write a reflection paper discussing the different dimensions of visual
information used and its impact on the audience.
