Level: Beginner

Material: the course book “Family and Friend 3”

Time of lesson: 45 minutes

Content of lesson: Present Continuous (PC)

Outline:

· Warm-up(10’)

 Introduce the class rules, naming 2 groups,

 Let students watch “Present continuous“ video (1 time)


 Pick some words in this video and write them on the board
 Divide the class into 2 groups,
 The teacher reads the board and asks students to slap the board

Teaching form
 Invite 2 students and ask them to do some action
 Choose students from the group and answer the action (accept imperfection)
 Show the correct answer on the slide (at least 5 sentences)
 Give color code in each element in the sentences above
 let students guess the form structure based on the color code
 Give the correct form
Teaching uses
 Point to some students in class and say what they are doing, and let students guess the
use of present continuous.
 Show the correct uses
Check understanding
 multiple choices using the whiteboard
 Fill in the blank
Practice
 Game(play in team): Ring the bell
+ Give clue words - Students form a full sentence
+ Call the team that ring the bell faster to read their sentence
 Storytelling
+ Ask each student to write their own sentence
+ form into 2 big groups and use their sentences above and combine them to
make a group story (can add other details)
+ Choose 1 student in each group to read their story

(The group that applies the most accurately will win)

 Conclude the main contents of the lesson


 Assign homework (Students make a vlog using PC)
