Opening Prayer
Dear Lord, thank You for today.

Thank You for ways in which You provide for us all. For
Your protection and love, we thank You. Help us focus
our hearts and minds now on what we are about to learn.

Inspire us by Your Holy Spirit as we listen and write.

Guide us by Your eternal light as we discover more about
the things around us.
We ask this in Jesus’ name.
Miriam of Nazareth,
Teach us Your ways and
lead us to Jesus.

Amen.

Group Work: Jamboard
1. Each group is assigned a Jamboard frame.
2. Draw an arrow (use different colors for each
member) to trace the flow of energy in the
ecosystem.
3. Assign a reporter for the group. Be ready to
provide a short explanation for your group’s output.
4. Time limit: 5-10 minutes

Quick Check
Yay or Nay
Say YAY if the statement is true and NAY if
the statement is false.

22
A producer or
autotroph captures
the sun’s energy to
make food.

23
The greatest
amount of energy is
found at the apex
or top of the energy
pyramid.

24
Herbivores occupy
the second trophic
level in the food
chain.

25
Think about this . . .

What do you think will

happen to the food web if an
organism in the food chain or
web disappears or becomes
extinct?

Guide Questions:
- What are the different interactions (ecological
relationships) in the ecosystem?
- What are the examples for each kind of relationship?
