1. INTRODUCTION

1.1 Purpose of the Document

The purpose of this document is to provide test execution details of the Web and Mobile Security
Upgrade and Enhancements application of the Tucson Electric Power version 1.0. This document
also gives a brief overview on all the performance objectives, test scenarios, client-side statistics
that are used for analysis.

2. PERFORMANCE TEST OBJECTIVES

The main objective of the performance testing for the Web and Mobile Security Upgrade and
Enhancements application is to benchmark and measure its performance for 50 users load.

3. TEST SCNEARIO
This section contains the workload details used during the load test execution.

3.1 Workload Criteria

The following table summarizes the test scenario including number of concurrent users and other
characteristics used for the performance testing.

Think time : 5 second

Total test Duration : 1 hour
Steady state : 40 min
Ramp up : 1 user every 12 seconds (total 10 mins)
Ramp down : 10 min

4. TEST RESULTS SUMMARY

This section details out the high-level observations client-side statistic details of the 50 users load
test.

4.1 High Level Observations

1. It was observed that total 29,136 transactions were successfully processed by all the 20
scenarios during the load test execution.
2. No Failed transactions are observed
3. Pass Percentage is 99.9% and failure percentage is 0% and Error percentage 0.2%
4. The TPS achieved during the steady state period is 12.14
No of Transactions processed in the Steady state/steady state time in sec (60*40)
29136/60*40
5. 90th percentile transaction response time of some of the transactions are beyond the 5
seconds and for Start Service Transaction took above 5sec but that is acceptable as per the
SLA. Two transactions are took above 5 sec are listed below

1 S06_MyAccount_EBill_T05_Submit 5.292
2 S06_WS_FinanceHistoryT02_GetFinanceHistory 10.075

6. Below attached sheet provides the transaction response times of all the business scenarios.
Refer also in the Appendix section.

7. During the ramping up, it was observed that increase in hits as well as throughput and
maintained a steady state for 40 mins and then started hits and throughput coming down
as users also ramping down in the test.

4.2 Client-Side Statistics:

This section provides the consolidated client-side statistics like Average transaction response
time, hits/ sec, and Throughput processed during the load test execution.

4.2.1 Average Response time Graph

The below graph provides the average transaction response time of all the transactions during
the load test execution.

4.2.2 Hits / Sec Graph

The below graph provides the average hits per second during the load test. It can be observed
that during ramp up phase the hits per second increased and maintained a steady state for 40
mins, and then hits coming down as users are ramping down slowly.

4.2.3 Throughput Graph

The below graph provides the average response data received in bytes from the server during the
load test. It can be observed that during the ramp up phase response data in bytes increased and
maintained a steady state, and then throughput slowly coming down as users ramping down.

5. APPENDIX

5.1 Average Response Time Sheet

6.GLOSSARY

Average response Time: - This is the average response time (in seconds) that the transaction took
to complete.

90 Percent Response Time: – 90 percent indicates the maximum response time (in seconds)
below which ninety percent of all the response time data points for a particular transaction will
reside.

Pass: – Number of transactions which didn’t have any errors.

Fail: – Number of transactions which ended with an error.
