The true meaning of Christmas

Watching out the streets full of glamorous lights, and with a tons of Christmas tree, do
you feel the true purpose of Christmas? For fun? For celebrating the birth of Jesus
Christ? Or just a normal holiday for you?

In today’s vicinity, Christmas is always considered as the time for having an exciting
celebration. Everyone is flocking to other countries to enjoy the long Christmas
holiday. However, almost everyone neglect the true meaning, the birthday of God’s
only son, Jesus. If you are a Christian or catholic or your friend does, you might find
them being very busy during Christmas times as they are busy for attending the
church gospel events. In which, that’s the main purpose of Christmas and can be
expressed in few different ways.

Firstly, in terms of love and care, Christmas is use for giving awareness to the people
who got weakness. Many social organisations offer free food, free clothes for those
people who are facing cold and poverty during this festival and spread the love to all.

Secondly, in terms of Jesus’ birth, like what I mentioned that Christmas is for blessing
his birth. You might have the experience for going to churches for watching Christmas
sermons and watching the pastors to thank god for giving birth to Jesus and saved our
faults and so on. From the celebration of Christmas, we should learn to love and
beloved others like how Jesus did so in order to really celebrate Christmas with
sincerity and get the true meaning of it.

Thirdly, in terms of family gathering, Christmas is undeniably the choice for Western
family to gather together for having annual dinner and celebrate this joyful festival.
Getting along together with the family is one of the true meaning of Christmas in my
opinion. As an Asian perspective, reunion is always important for us and Christmas is
one of the chances for us to celebrate together and let us to cherish and share the
joyfulness through Christmas.

However, in terms of commercial activities, Christmas is undoubtedly a money-tree.

Some experts said that the festival and holiday of Christmas is actually made for
commercial uses in the US. If your country does celebrate Christmas, you will see
decorations appear in everywhere you walked by and tons of discounts were made in
the shops. “Merry Christmas” has become a slogan instead of blessing the birth of
Jesus and most of us lost the original meaning from it.
Lastly, I would ask you a question, have you ever celebrated Christmas by knowing
the true meaning of it
