ST1103 - Theology III (Thu 9:30~12:00 304)

I. Course Description This is the third in the sequence of ST courses required for the M.Div. (soteriology,
ecclesiology, eschatology).

II. Course Objective


To exhibit a deeper love for the Triune God, his work, his word, his truth, and his church
To be better prepared to live and to minister faithfully according to Scripture
To be able to understand, articulate, and defend the doctrines covered in this course

* We have a strict attendance policy according to the Academic Office.

< GRADING>
A. Weekly Quiz (20%): assigned reading at beginning of the class. No make-up quiz will be given.

B. Midterm (20%) and Final (20%) exams will cover the lectures (PPT)

C. An Outline and Q & A (25%) on the Sermon on the Mount (Mt 5:3-7:27) - Detail given in class.
Response on 2 theological Qs (max 40pts)
Final submission of outline + personal reflection (max 50pts)

D. Theological Reflection (10%): Summarize Calvin’s Commentary on 1 & 2 Timothy.

F. Extra Credit (max 5%): Write a 500-word book review of Machen, Christianity and Liberalism.
