Overview

Purpose of collecting customer segment data


To ensure a sampling distribution that reflects bank's existing customer base, we request banks to share customer distribution across
- State split (andhra pradesh, arunachal pradesh,...)
- Regional split (e.g., urban, rural); as defined by RBI

We also request customer base distribution across products seperately, to help us ensure adequate representation of each product in sample

Product Definitions
Please find below the product details for which the data is requested.
Loan taken by an individual to purchase, construct, renovate or extend a home
Home Loan
Please do not include 'Loan against property'
Loans for the purchase of new, used/second-hand/pre-owned automobiles (both 2-wheelers and 4-wheelers)
Secured Auto Loan Please include vehicles loaned for both personal and commercial purposes
Loans Do not include agri vehicle loan (e.g.,tractor loan)

Secured loan where gold assets are pledged as collateral by the borrower
Gold Loan
Please do not include agri-gold loan
Unsecured credit provided based on criteria like employment history, repayment capacity, income level, profession and credit history
Personal Loan
Please do not include business loans, microfinance lending into personal loans

Please include the following cards (only for personal customers):


Unsecured • Branded and co-branded cards
Loans • All new credit card accounts opened regardless of card activation
Credit Card
Please exclude:
• Any third party cards
• Add-on credit cards
Loan that students apply for, in order to fund their education in India or abroad
Education Loan
Please include both secured and unsecured education loans

SME Lending Only include loans lent out to Micro and Small enterprises with Sole Proprietorship
Please do not include Medium enterprises
