Test Method: EN ISO 13934-2:1999

Method Name: Standard Test method for determination of maximum force of


fabrics using the grab method.
Scope: •Applicable for woven fabrics & fabrics produced by other
techniques.
• Not applicable for woven elastic fabrics, Geotextiles, Nonwovens,
Coated fabrics, Textile-glass woven fabrics and fabrics made from Carbon fibers or
polyolefin tape yarn.
Apparatus: CRE Machine.
Jaw: front Jaw (25*25) ±1 mm & Rare Jaw 40 mm min, preferably 50mm.
Specimens no: Warp 5 weft 5.
Specimens Size: Width 100 ± 2 mm. Length enough to secure the gauge length of
100 mm.
Precondition and condition: As per method EN 20139. Recommended at least 24
hours.
M/C Gauge length: 100/75 mm± 2mm.
Speed: 50 mm/min
Testing condition: Dry & Wet condition.
Considerable point: Sample slippage, jaw break.
Reporting: Average breaking force in N.
Round the result for values
< 100 N to the the nearest 1 N
≥ 100 N to < 1000 N to the the nearest 10 N
≥ 1000 N to the the nearest 100 N
