When people succeed, it is entirely because of hard work. Luck has nothing to do with their
success. To what extent do you agree or disagree with the statement? Give reasons and
examples to support your view.

Part 1:
One fateful summer vacation, I experienced a stroke of extreme luck that forever changed my
perception of life's unpredictability. It happened during a family trip to a picturesque mountain
resort in Switzerland. Little did I know that this trip would become an unforgettable rollercoaster
of emotions.

It was a warm and sunny afternoon in late July. My parents, my younger sister, and I decided to
go hiking in the breathtaking Swiss Alps. We embarked on a scenic trail that promised
spectacular views of the surrounding peaks and crystal-clear lakes. The hike started off smoothly,
with each step elevating our excitement and curiosity.

However, as we ventured deeper into the mountains, the weather took an unexpected turn. Dark
clouds gathered overhead, casting a gloomy shadow on our adventure. Within minutes, the sky
unleashed a torrential downpour. We hastily sought shelter under a tree, hoping the rain would
cease soon.

During this unexpected turn of events, we noticed a couple who were also caught off guard by the
sudden storm. They appeared to be in their late 40s, struggling to protect their young daughter
from the elements. Seeing their helpless situation, my parents and I approached them to offer
assistance.

We decided to share our umbrella with the stranded family, providing them with some cover until
the rain subsided. As we huddled together under that tiny shelter, we engaged in conversation and
discovered that they were from Australia, visiting Switzerland for the first time. Their travel
plans didn't involve hiking, but a series of unforeseen events led them to the same trail as us.
Minutes turned into hours, and the rain showed no signs of stopping. It became clear that we
couldn't wait any longer if we wanted to safely descend the mountain. We offered our new
acquaintances a caravan ride down since our car was equipped for such terrain.

Upon reaching the base, we bid farewell to the Australian family, exchanging contact information
as a token of our newfound friendship. Although we were soaked and our plans were derailed,
that experience left an indelible mark on my life.

Reflecting on that fateful day, I felt incredibly lucky to have encountered the Australian family
during that intense storm. Their presence not only provided us solace and companionship during
our moment of uncertainty but also taught me the significance of lending a helping hand, even in
unpredictable circumstances.

Furthermore, it reminded me of the unpredictable nature of life and the role that chance
encounters play in shaping our experiences. Had we chosen a different hiking trail or skipped our
adventure altogether, our paths may never have crossed. This realization filled me with gratitude
and a renewed appreciation for the interconnectedness of humanity.

In conclusion, the unexpected encounter with the Australian family during a torrential downpour
in the Swiss Alps remains etched in my memory as an instance of incredible luck. Though the
circumstances were far from ideal, the experience taught me the beauty of compassion, resilience,
and the unexplainable twists of fate that can transform the ordinary into extraordinary.
