The incredible moment

To begin, "The King’s Speech" is a British historical drama film that has been directed by
Tom Hooper, written by David Sedler, and became released in 2010. The setting has been
taken at the stutter therapist's house and his office, where he did help the Duke of York to
overcome his stuttering such that the king could be able to speak without stuttering.
The main characters of the movie are Colin Firth. He has the role as the Duke of York that I
mean is a unique person, because of the stuttering problems he has as a king. Geoffrey Rush
has the role as Lionel Logue, that's a stutter therapist. He is helping the Duke of York to
overcome his stuttering. Helena Bonham Carter has the role as the wife to the Duke of York,
and persuades him to see the stutter therapist. Guy Pearce has the role as the brother of
the Duke of York. As a king, he abdicates after a short period. Michael Gambon has the role
as the father of the Duke of York, that's dying during the movie.
Why did you think that the movie didn't be directed in the past like after the king's death?
David Siedler had begun on this movie project in the 70's. In that time, the stutter therapist
Lionel Logue was alive. He allowed Siedler to make this project, but not the king's wife that
also was yet alive. Therefore, he left the project until her death until 2002. But after a while,
Siedler became cancer, but even so, he had decided continuing and finishing with the
project. In addition, it has been given some awards for the movie like, "Four Academy
Awards" and "seven British Academy Film Awards".
The movie begins such that the Duke of York is going to hold a speech in a stadium. But he
ends with stuttering and it causes that he doesn't be able to speak. His wife takes him to
Lionel Logue that's a stutter therapist. The therapist is helping him to find a solution for the
stuttering.
Later during the movie, the prince Albert's father dies. Albert is another name for the Duke
of York, but the family called him Bertie. David has been the king after the father’s death,
that’s brother of Albert. But after a short while, he abdicated, because the prime minister
didn't accept that he could marry misters Simpson. This caused that the Duke of York
became the new British king and as a king, he did get the name George VI.
Finally, the Duke of York gets in a crisis since he is going to prepare a speech about Britain's
declaration of war on Germany. While keeping the speech in the broadcast room, the
therapist is trying to help the king pronouncing the sentences without stuttering. At the end,
the king manages to keep the speech in a very good way such that everyone be very proud
of him. As a good and sad ending, they become very good friends, and never forget each
other until the death.
In that case, it was a good launched movie by the setting and the atmosphere that I mean
was realistically. Like the sort of clothes, the people was wearing, the view of the places like
the castle, insides and outsides of the buildings. The technology that wasn't developed in
that time like the sort of cars, telephones and radios.
The film had a good progress since the time periods was based in order. I liked the way that
the stutter therapist did help the king to overcome the stuttering. Like to sit up on his
stomach and make him angry such that the king is screaming that be a little funny.
The movie has been taken around the beginning of the second world war. It was exciting,
because Great Britain had already been in the first world war. After some years, they had
involved to a new war, namely against Germany like in the first world war. It made me
curious, because I wonder how Big Britain's position is going to be this time if they could
show that during the movie.
It wasn't very good action that made the movie very exciting. The movie did take around in
the second world war. I mean that they could show some parts like the happenings about
the war. Like how Germany did start a war again, who and how they did that. It wouldn't be
a part of the movie's plot, but as an example, it could do the movie more exciting and give a
good action.
In general, I found the Duke of York as a comical person in the way that he did get help by
the stutter therapist Lionel Logue. In my opinion, the greatest point of the movie is when
the Duke of York must hold a speech in the broadcast room when the war breaks out. Since
you get a thought for how that will be, because of the stuttering problems the king has.
To conclude, the watcher's might say that the movie is a little boring since that's a
biography, but it's very attractive that the film is a true story. Even so, I did like the film and
will give a good rating in the way they have launched. Therefore, I recommend that
everyone should watch it and learn something of that.
