The Directorate of ICT and Services (DICTS) has been called upon to implement a Senate
decision to build the capacity of Academic Staff on the use of online tools (Google
Classroom and Google Meet) for Emergency remote Teaching in the short term and the
use of the Kyambogo Electronic Learning Management System (KELMS) based on
Moodle in the long term.
Following this directive, the DICTS has drawn an intensive training programme to enhance
user knowledge and skills. This will start with empowering Deans, Heads of Department
and at least two staff drawn from each department. The training will be inductive half day
activity, subsequent trainings will be conducted online using Google Meet Platform.
Deans are requested to arrange for suitable venues with internet and refreshments for the
training in their respective faculties. Please come with a laptop/tablet/smart phone and
attend in person to be able to understand the system functions. For further clarifications

programme.
