My grandmother's turkey dressing recipe is an old-fashioned classic. It can be

cooked as directed in a baking dish or used as stuffing and cooked inside your
turkey. It makes enough to stuff a very large bird.

:
"I loved this recipe, and so did my family," says Patsy Snyder Hennessey. "I
should have made a double batch, because they scraped the pan. The only thing
I did differently was to baste this dressing a couple of times with a turkey baster
full of juice from the turkey I had roasted earlier in the day."

"It was a wonderful stuffing recipe," according to PRAIRIEMOMMY. "We loved it.
It was so easy and so tasty – we cooked it in a turkey and it turned out perfect."
:
"Awesome," says jofus109. "Easy to make. I halved the recipe, le" out the sage
and added some chopped apple and pecans to the mix. Great blend of flavors
and textures."

This was a return to "yesteryear". A recipe that my Mom used to make. However, to
indulge my wife's Mother's recipe I made couple of addtions in ingredients as well

I haven't made homemade stuffing in years, so I used this recipe as a guide for what I
wanted. I added sauted mushroom, onion and celery. I had some spinach filling le" over
from another recipe (stuffed mushrooms), it had parmesan, fine bread crumbs, onion and
garlic powder. This was a next level stuffing! I served it with chicken breast. Read More

This is my family recipe as well with a few additions. My mom put in peeled apple chunks
and white raisins. Yum!

Yes, this is similar to the recipe used by my mother and grandmother and I love it. I dried
out whole grain bread for a day and overnight, then broke/tore it into small pieces. I
sautéed the onion/celery in butter and added that, broth, sage, salt and pepper to the
bread bowl and adjusted seasonings - more sage - before adding an egg. I added a bit

This is a four generation recipe in our family. While it's great as is, as our tastes have
changed a bit over the years I find myself adding more fresh herbs to dishes than dried. I
add about a 1/4 c. fresh, chopped parsley, three sprigs of thyme and fresh sage. Read More

As a transplant from St. Louis via Shreveport to the New Orleans area, I have been to many
Thanksgiving feasts offering oyster dressing or dirty rice as the stuffing! This recipe was
easy and came out perfectly! I use chopped garlic in oil (my hands are seriously arthritic)
instead of powdered garlic-I think it tastes better and is certainly easier! Great
memories!!!!! Read More
