ASPECTS OF BRAHMS at Blackheath

This summer starting at Blackheath Halls on Monday 8th April to 15th July Matthew is
revisiting Brahms in a nine lecture series and with luck two extended lectures so that
we can have ten lectures worth. This will be a review of those various aspects from
symphonies to concertos, instrumental music to chamber music and others. Be in no
doubt that Matthew will rekindle aspects of Brahms that we hear too little of these
day.

ELGAR SIDE BY SIDE at Charlton House

This programme is a new concept in our lecture planning. It will be a five lecture
series but spaced out over Spring and Summer terms with lectures at intervals of four
or more weeks each. The idea emanated from various individual Monday dates not
being available at Blackheath during the Spring Term (Diaghilev) and the Summer
Term (Brahms). We have therefore gathered these odd dates together (see To Come)
to create a separate series at Charlton House. The subject composer is Elgar and the
series centres on his three symphonies with his chamber music and other well loved
works
