The Gender Equality Law: Seeks to eliminate discrimination in employment,

training, and recruitment on the basis of sex, marital status, pregnancy or gender
and to promote the payment of equal remuneration to male and female
employees who perform work of equal value.

RA 7192: The Women in Development and Nation Building Act which promotes
the integration of women as full and equal partners of men in development and nation
building.

Art. XIII, Sec. 14, 1987 Constitution: “The State shall protect working women by
providing safe and healthful working conditions, taking into account their maternal
2

functions, and such facilities and opportunities that will enhance their welfare and
enable them to realize their full potential in the service of the nation.”

RA 11036: "An Act Establishing a National Mental Health Policy for the purpose
of Enhancing the Delivery of Integrated Mental Health Services, Promoting and
Protecting the Rights of Persons Utilizing Psychiatric, Neurologic and
Psychosocial Health Services, Appropriating Funds therefor, and for other
purposes."

V. RATIONALE
Equity is a systemic issue, and as such, making lasting change towards greater
gender equity in the workplace requires getting the whole workforce involved. The aim
of gender equity in the workplace is to achieve broadly equal opportunities and
outcomes for women and men, not necessarily outcomes that are exactly the same for
all.

Workplace gender equity will be achieved when the workforce are able to access
and enjoy equal rewards, benefits, resources and opportunities regardless of gender.

Broadly, organization and individuals striving for gender equity in the workplace
need to rethink systems and challenge assumptions in order to cultivate an
organizational culture capable of harnessing the power of the men and women alike.

In line with this, Botao National High School, adhering to GAD mandates,
proposes GENDER EQUALITY IN THE WORKPLACE, PERSONNEL BENEFITS & WELFARE
CUM TEAM BUILDING PROGRAM

VI. OBJECTIVE/S:
At the end of the seminar, the participants should be able to:

1.) Capably address their responsibilities as government workers while enjoying

equal opportunity as to career advancement, benefits, and resources.
2.) Know the rights and benefits of employees supportive to work employment.
3.) Ensure health and wellness of every member of the workforce and being
productive by being responsive to health and safety protocols.
4.) Eliminate discrimination on the basis of gender, particularly in relation to work
responsibilities and health and wellness.
5.) Strengthen camaraderie and unity between and among employees for better
efficiency.
