ABOUT EDUKAKSYON: A VOTER EDUCATION FOR 2023 August 12, 2023 at Maitum
BARANGAY AND SANGGUNIANG KABATAAN ELECTION Municipal Gymnasium

This voter education forum aims to provide an avenue for the young people of Maitum to enhance their political
participation throughout the electoral cycle, stress the importance of one’s vote, and enlighten them with the
basic concepts of democracy and the role of elections in democracy and governance as they make a decision in
the looming Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Election on October 30, 2023.

YOUth VOTE Matters is a movement campaign that advocates for increased young voter registration, education,
and empowerment. The Sarangani-Division Federation of Supreme Student Government established this initiative
in August 2021 to coincide with National Youth Month and Buwan ng Kabataang Sarangan. A project effort that
urges senior high school students to join in nation-building despite reservations, indifference, and
disenfranchisement. The student leaders strive to and advocate for the institutionalization of issue-based elections
as an alternative to the country's conventional personality-based and patronage politics.

PARTICIPANTS

This program targets young people in Maitum ages 15 to 30 years old, especially aspiring Sangguniang Kabataan
candidates and newly registered and first-time voters for the looming 2023 BSK Election.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION

PHP 1,000.00 – Inclusive of training fee, resource speaker’s fee and allowance, snacks for 20 participants, certificate
to the participating SK council and venue.

CONFIRMATION OF SLOT per Barangay is until July 28, 2023 and DEADLINE OF REGISTRATION FEE is on August 4,
2023.
