NetGuard Identity Access Manager
User Guide

1 Preface
This document is used by STC operation to access their NMSs and NEs via STC NIAM solution.
Please test the access related to your profile type. i.e. users might be authorized to access only
NMS GUI and not their corresponding CLI and vice versa. This all depends on your privileges
provided from STC.
To access NIAM, end user must enroll to the 2FA (Cisco Duo) provided by STC.
Using the NetGuard Identity Access Manager client, users log in with their credentials and then
launch applications, proprietary element management tools, web browsers or scripts that have
been configured by the NetGuard Identity Access Manager administrator.
Take RDP from your local machine to Terminal server IP as shown below (main 10.141.48.108)
as shown below. In the case of un-availability of the IP address, please login to DR IP address
10.171.1.254 (only applicable once NIAM-DR site is activated).
2. Launch the NetGuard Identity Access Manager client, which is installed on a terminal server. You
will find it in Terminal Server Desktop
3. In the Username field, type the same STC AD user name without “stc.corp\” and without adding
domain @stc.com.sa.
Note: if you have “.c” as part of your STC ID, please consider accessing the NetGuard IAM without
“.c”.
4. In the Password field, type your AD password.
Optional: If user receives request on DUO Security, then user should follow Step 5.
Otherwise user must proceed to Step 6.
6. Approve the prompt received on your phone (i.e from the installed Cisco Duo App).
If you get a login request that you weren't expecting, press Deny to reject the request. You’ll be
given the ability to report it as fraudulent, or you can tap It was a mistake to deny the request
without reporting it.
8. Click Continue to close the security message and proceed with the login. The NetGuard Identity
Access Manager main interface appears.
9. All NEs for which access have been granted by administrator will appear as shown below. User
has 2 option to select the desired NE/NMS type.
In the find text box. Enter the word mycom to get all available GUI SSO launch assigned to your
account.
10. Select the ProOptima GUI node user needs to launch and right-click on it will give the
applications configured for the node. For example, to launch ProOptima DesktopClient right-
click on the application MyCom-OSI-GUI, then click on “Launch ProOptima DesktopClient
GUI” to Launch.
11. Auto Login will happen. Please wait till full application launch.
NOTE: DO NOT MINIMIZE RDP SESSION DURING SSO LOGIN & DO NOT LOCK THE SCREEN.
Below is the first page, NIAM is taking the lead and logging in on behalf of the User.
The user should be patient and wait, till the Java File is launched successfully till the end.
Below will be the Final Home-page for Launch ProOptima DesktopClient GUI.
To Logout, the user should click on the File button located in the upper left, then click on Quit (as
shown in the below snap).
OR
Use the following procedure to log out of the NetGuard Identity Access Manager client and close the
application window
1. On the File menu, click Exit. Alternatively, click the Close button (x) on the top right of the
NetGuard Identity Access Manager window. The confirmation window appears.
2. Click Yes to close NetGuard Identity Access Manager.
NOTE: - Please save all needed files to your local machine before logging off or
closing the RDP session
Take RDP from your local machine to Terminal server IP as shown below (main 10.141.48.108)
as shown below. In the case of un-availability of the IP address, please login to DR IP address
10.171.1.254 (only applicable once NIAM-DR site is activated).

Below will be the Final Home-page for Launch ProOptima WebClient GUI.
Note: User is not allowed to access Welcome Page Apps from WebClient page
directly.

shown in the below snap).

Use the following procedure to log out of the NetGuard Identity Access Manager client and close the
application window
15. On the File menu, click Exit. Alternatively, click the Close button (x) on the top right of the
NetGuard Identity Access Manager window. The confirmation window appears.
16. Click Yes to close NetGuard Identity Access Manager.
NOTE: - Please save all needed files to your local machine before logging off or
closing the RDP session
2. Then go to “Puplic”
3. Now search for the file you want to copy/export. For example, search for nkia and Open the file.
4. Now to Compute the file you opened, click on the “Calculator” icon.
6. Then User will go to his Machine, open a new Text File/Excel Document, then paste “Ctrl+v,
and save the file.
Note: To select the complete Column, click on the Date/Time Cell at the top of the Column. Then
proceed with copying the “Ctrl+v” process.
User will repeat the same steps from 1 to 4, then follow the below steps.
1. Go to view, then click on “Export as”.
2. Choose the File Location Downloads. Name the file you want to save. For example,
name it Test then click “Save”.
3. Go to the location where you saved the file, folder Downloads, and you will find the file
“Test”.
