Welcome to the English 4 Alternative Delivery Mode (ADM) Module on Using the Correct
Time Expressions to Tell an Action in the Present.
This module was collaboratively designed, developed and reviewed by educators from public
institutions to assist you, the teacher or facilitator in helping the learners meet the standards
set by the K to 12 Curriculum while overcoming their personal, social, and economic
constraints in schooling.
This learning resource hopes to engage the learners into guided and independent learning
activities at their own pace and time. Furthermore, this also aims to help learners acquire the
needed 21st century skills while taking into consideration their needs and circumstances.

Welcome to the English 4 Alternative Delivery Mode (ADM) Module on Using the Correct
Time Expressions to Tell an Action in the Present.
Every day, we watch the television, tune in the radio, or use our mobile phones to get the
latest news about the COVID 19 pandemic. We always want to have news updates to keep
us posted with this deadly virus. Nowadays, as the virus becomes the leading cause of
death to people all over the world, we have to stay at home to prevent it from spreading.
This module was designed to provide you with fun and meaningful opportunities for guided
and independent learning at your own pace and time. You will be enabled to process the
contents of the learning resource while being an active learner.
What I Need to Know
This module will assist you in encouraging the learners to use the correct time
expressions to tell an action in the present.
It will also widen their skills and knowledge in answering activities about using correct
time expressions to tell an action in the present.

6 Tell an Action in the Present
Using time expressions in the present simple actions help us know and understand
when an action is happening and how often somebody does something.
What’s In
Draw a happy face if the sentence has correct time expression for the present
action and a sad face if the time expression is not for the present action. Write your

3. Time expressions like every day, each year, once a week, once a month,
always, daily, regularly, usually, often, in the evening etc. appear at the
beginning or at the end of the sentence in the present simple.
4. The simple present is a verb tense with two main uses. We use the simple present
tense when an action is happening right now, or when it happens regularly.
