A doctoral degree then, after a MBA is a feasible option.

This type of qualification is the highest academic

award any university can bestow on you. It shows that the doctoral student is able to collate, arrange and utilize
existing knowledge bases, but also contribute to that specific knowledge, be it in business or science fields.
The benefits of undertaking a doctorate degree:
As with the MBA degree, the doctorate provides an opportunity to develop skills and also in turn to further
career growth at a senior executive level.
The most feasible route to undertake from a MBA would be the doctorate in business administration or in
philosophy with a major in any of the management sub divisions.
The doctorate also provides the framework to enhancing your personal reputation within the managerial
workplace.
And also your peers recognize the research and contribution that you have undertaken.
The contribution that one wishes to make to an organization can be done via the doctorate and the feeling of not
only personal achievement, but also of contributing to the overall effectives for the company i.e. researching, the
benefits of TQM in effectiveness to the production methods or productivity.
The PhD and the DBA degrees, both take the academic principles of a master’s degree to a higher level, but the
PhD is more research focused, while the DBA is jointly associated with research and core taught programmes.
Within academic circles the PhD is considered the more serious qualification, but the DBA would be more of
interest to managers and would be more appropriate to undertake. Although equally demanding, the most
important value of these types of doctorate degrees is that one develops an area of expertise and provides the
ability to differentiate between the key areas and essentials of business.
Most of the universities provide these qualifications, in the UK, USA and other countries. And the duration,
study period etc is almost the same as for the MBA degree. Although, the returns for financial reasons would
be less, the personal achievements and recognition is of high value to the potential doctorate candidate.
