Escaped Prisoner Boots too Big to Fill

I was brought here from another world by spacefaring mind
flayers. The ship in which I was imprisoned crashed in the
mountains south of Ten-Towns. After surviving the crash, I
nearly froze to death crossing the tundra to reach Ten-Towns.
If some friendly trappers hadn’t found me, I would have
perished. I fear some of my captors also survived the crash
and might come looking for me.
Compulsive
I keep seeing a specific number or phrase everywhere.
Whenever I encounter I must act quickly or bad things will
happen.
Genderbender
When you awake after being intimate with anyone, your body
has transformed its physical aspects to the opposite gender.
This happens every time you awaken after being physically
intimate with another.
Your family's bloodline has produced spectacular sorcerers,
ferocious fighters, and byword bards. You grew up with
stories of all the amazing things everyone in your family has
done, and unfortunately, you are expected to forge your own
story that will go down in history. This is made worse by the
fact that most of your family doesn't believe in you, and you
know you cant measure up to the best of them, but you can
certainly try. You may multi-class into any class, even when
you don't meet the stat requirements.
Sleeper Agent
I am secretly an assassin against my will, when I see a
specific individual, I have no choice but to try to kill them. My
target may or may not be known to me.
Old Flame
I have a lover in Ten-Towns whom I haven’t seen in years. At
any time outside of combat, I can decide who the lover is by
choosing an NPC in Ten-Towns that I can see. Once I make
this choice, I can’t change it. This old flame is friendly and
helpful toward me, even if our past is checkered.

Reincarnation
I died and was brought back to life by a friendly human druid
using the reincarnate spell. I have no idea what became of the
druid, whose name I don’t know. I retain the memories of my
previous life, some or all of which was spent in Icewind Dale.
(Roll on the table in the spell’s description to determine your
character’s previous race, or choose a race from the table that
you like, then flesh out the story of your previous life.)
Clone
I am a clone. The person I was cloned from is somewhere in
Icewind Dale. I must find and kill them.
A Toads Magical Life
Your life has had a very odd change of pace. You started as a
simple toad, when one day a benevolent druid cast Awaken
on you. After a time of intelligent toadness, another druid
offered to True Polymorph you into the person you are today.
Occasionally your toad tendencies slip out.
Midwinter Child
Auril the Frostmaiden has blessed me, for I was born on the
Midwinter holiday. I have resistance to cold damage.
Reghed Heir
Prerequisite: You must be a human, half-elf, or half-orc to
have this secret. If you don’t meet this prerequisite, draw a
different card.
I am the offspring of Queen Bjornhild Solvigsdottir, leader
of the Tiger Tribe. My mother cast me into the Sea of Moving
Ice when I was a young child as a sacrifice to Auril the
Frostmaiden. A polar bear pulled me from the water and
spared me a freezing death. This bear then transformed into
a goliath who bore me safely to Ten-Towns. I remember the
goliath’s name—Oyaminartok—but haven’t seen her since. I
owe her my life, just as I owe my mother a merciless death.
Alagondar Scion
Prerequisite: You must be a human, half-elf, or half-orc to
have this secret. If you don’t meet this prerequisite, draw a
different card.
I’m a scion of the Alagondar bloodline and the only known
heir to the crown of Neverwinter. If Dagult Neverember, the
city’s lord-regent, learns that I’m alive, he’ll send assassins to
kill me.

You're a Wizard, Wary
Since birth, you were raised in a room the size of a cupboard.
The malicious "caretakers" gave you the minimum to survive,
while the other child in their care was praised given
everything they wanted. While in long phases of isolation, you
discovered you had a magical power within you. You have one
cantrip from the Wizard spell list, using Int as your
spellcasting ability for it. You have an immense fear and
hatred of dark and small spaces.
Wanderlust
I have a family including young children back in another
town/city. Unfulfilled in life I left in the middle of the night to
strike out as an adventurer under a new name.
Allergic
I am deathly allergic to bees and all insects for that matter.
I've come to the arctic to avoid them.
Would Rather have been an Orphan
As a child, you were abducted from your village by a trio of
hags and kept in a cage. After bearing witness to many
gruesome acts, you were granted freedom, but on the basis
that one of your eyes is removed and replaced with a hag eye.
You can remove your eye as an action and see though it as
though it were attached to you. The eye has AC10, 1 HP and
has Darkvision out to 30 ft. The hags vowed that if the eye is
destroyed, they will haunt your dreams and make them
nightmares
Is It Worth It?
A faithful friend handed you a treasure map leading to untold
riches in the frozen tundra of Icewind Dale. The moment the
map left their hand, they dropped dead instantly.
Spy
I’m a spy for the Harpers, a secretive organization that works
behind the scenes to thwart tyrants and other evildoers. My
mission in Icewind Dale is to safeguard the settlements of
Ten-Towns while concealing my Harper affiliation. Credible
threats to Ten-Towns include the Arcane Brotherhood, an
organization of wizards based in Luskan, and the Zhentarim,
an expansive shadow network that wants to control trade
throughout the North. Both have threatened Ten-Towns in the
past.
My only Harper contact in Ten-Towns is a human named
Beldora, who poses as a homeless woman and spends her
days gathering information in Bryn Shander.
Blood Drinker
During early adulthood, you awoke in an ancient stone circle
without knowing how you got there. You discovered that you
must drink a small amount of blood each night at midnight.
Failing to do so causes you to lose one from your maximum
hitpoints that cannot be healed by any means, until you drink
again.
Haunted
You have been plagued with strange dreams of death, and
hear the distant cries and whispers of unfulfilled lives in the
presence of corpses. There is a chance that any humanoid
you kill may return as an undead in 0-5 days. The is almost
universally seen as a curse and if known, there are few who
will allow you within their settlement.
Slaad Host
A red slaad implanted a pellet-sized egg in me shortly before I
started my adventuring career. If I can’t get rid of it in the next
two months, the egg will gestate inside me, and a slaad
tadpole will burst from my chest, killing me. It will then
quickly grow into an adult slaad and kill even more people.
Didn't Check the Fine Print
While on the brink of death, you signed your soul over to a pit
fiend. The pit fiend saved you, but now you must submit to
their desires. The pit fiend demands Auril's forces be put
down, and you will give your life if need be to accomplish this,
as well as obey any commands given during your adventure.
You have resistance to fire damage.
Ring Hunter
I am looking for the knucklehead trout that bit off my father’s
finger, which had a signet ring on it. To preserve my
inheritance, I must retrieve the lost ring.
Innate Cultist
I was born into a cult. I escaped but am haunted by memories
of it. Unless I am drunk I tend to sleepwalk, talk in my sleep
and have terrible nightmares. I fear they may be after me. You
learn one 1st level spell from the sorcerer spell list and can
cast it once per long rest. Charisma is your spellcasting
ability when cast in this way.
Owlbear Whisperer
Owlbears are predisposed to like me.
If I am within 10 feet of an owlbear, I can use an action to
make a DC 10 Charisma (Animal Handling) check. On a
success, I change the owlbear’s attitude toward me from
hostile to indifferent or from indifferent to friendly.

Revels End Escape Artist
You committed a serious crime against a member of the
Lords' Alliance, resulting in being incarcerated within Revel's
End. Somehow, you managed to escape. Now the Lords'
Alliance is looking for you. If the player wants to randomly
determine the reason for the character's imprisonment, roll
from the Prisoners table on page 158.
All Eyes on Me
A deadly encounter with a Beholder could have cost you your
life, but thankfully you caught the monster on a good day. The
beholder had a swarm of Gazer's following it around, and
wanted to give some away. You are now in possession of a pet
gazer, which must be fed and protected from the elements
and from public view.
It wasn't Me! I Swear!
It was you. You murdered someone in town. It may or may
not have been an accident, but regardless, someone is dead
and it is by your hands. Whichever Ten Town you did this in
has placed a bounty on your head, and you kow if you ever
show your face there, you will be in in trouble with the law
and caught.Your bounty may be high enough that people will
come after you if you are nearby.
Runaway Author
I penned a notorious exposé called “The Hellbent Highborn,”
which accused several prominent patriars in Baldur’s Gate
and nobles in Waterdeep of being devil worshipers. Although
my accusations were well founded, I made a lot of enemies
and was forced to seek refuge in Icewind Dale.
Elusive Paramour
A wealthy pasha in Calimshan has placed a bounty on my
head for seducing his favorite concubine. Bounty hunters are
scouring the Sword Coast in search of me, but I hope they’ll
never think to look in Icewind Dale.
Totally not Three Kobolds in a
Trenchcoat
You are totally three kobolds in a trenchoat.
No Longer Side By Side
Just recently, you discovered you have no shadow. In dark
areas where no sunlight can touch you, you might see the
darkness warp for a brief moment. Your shadow is stalking
you, and will attack when the time is right.
Orc Stone
I saved the life of an orc, who gave me a stone with the
symbol of the Many-Arrows tribe (a humanoid skull pierced
by three arrows) carved into it. The stone is an uncommon
magic item that requires attunement, and only I can attune to
it.
As an action, I can use the stone to summon the spirit of an
orc warrior, which appears within 30 feet of me. The spirit
uses the orc war chief stat block in the Monster Manual and
disappears after 10 minutes or when reduced to 0 hit points.
The spirit understands any language I speak and obeys my
commands.
After the stone is used three times, it turns to dust.
What were we doing again?
You were struck by a spell from a vindictive wizard. You now
can only remember events that happened in the past twenty-
four hours. You no longer need to sleep, but every moment
awake means another moment lost from your mind
Not my kind of Party
While traveling with your family in the mountains, you were
all horribly lost. While trying to navigate, harsh weather and
the elements took its toll on you all. People were injured and
missing, and despair began to kick in. Of all the many people
that started that journey, very few returned. You did what you
had to to survive, but those horrific memories will never leave
you.
Pirate Cannibal
I served aboard Dark Duchess, a pirate ship from the city of
Luskan. After the vessel got stuck in the ice, everyone but the
captain abandoned the vessel and fled to Ten-Towns. We got
lost in a blizzard along the way. I was the only one who made
it, and only by eating my mates. The ship and its treasure are
still out there.
Littlest Yeti
I was raised by yeti. Although I relied on my ferocious
guardians for food and warmth and never quite adapted to
the cold, I speak Yeti and have advantage on Charisma checks
made to influence yeti or improve their attitudes.
Royal
I am secretly a prince/princess/noble that ran away from
home and have been in hiding ever since, luckily, I managed
to bring a trinket worth 250 gp and some pocket-change of
100 gp with you.

because I didn't think they'd work well. I also
changed a few. Remember, if the player doesn't
like the secret they roll, let them roll again, no
one likes being forced to keep a secret they
