Volume Compensator

Patch for compensa ng volume of plugin processing such as Compressors,

Saturators, Equalizers (but not limited) to hear real sound change, but not volume
gaining.
Due to psychoacous c percep on of sound, our brain always considers louder
sounds be er than quite.
How to use
Unzip files on Your hard drive.
In opened Ableton Live’s project add to a track by dragging from Browser
(Explorer or Finder) or add link to folder with your Max For Live patches to Live’s
sidebar Browser, by pushing “Add Folder” line, and then add patches from this
folder.

Put Send patch before plugin or plugins chain and put Receive at the end.

Numbers on Sender shows Loudness of incoming signal, on Receiver Loudness

of signal passed through plugin or plugins chain. Sound passed through ac ve
Receiver has same loudness as Sender shows.
If You want use more than one instance of Volume compensator in one
project on any track, change Route channel on both Send and Receive to same
number for plugin or plugin chains.

You may use more than one instance of Volume Compensators at plugins
chain, if you need.
By default plugin has RMS volume compensa on.

Hit RMS bu on to change Loudness calcula on to Perceived Loudness LUFS.

By hi ng Processed bu on plugin chains (not Volume Compensator!) will be

bypassed.
To switch off volume compensa on, shut off Receiver by hi ng Live’s
standard plugin On/Off bu on.

Take care not to overload chain, some plugins have big latency and delays
signal, which affect on calcula on and increase delay on Volume Compensa on
reac on.
