TOPIC OF STUDY: Heat regulation system using an integrated heat pump and air conditioner in
poultry farming to enhance production.
Poultry farming is one of the profitable activities that requires optimal temperature
conditions, since one of the main challenges is to maintain suitable temperatures and
humidity in the poultry house. A heat regulation system using an integrated heat pump and
air conditioner can provide both heating and cooling functions for the poultry house. The
heat pump acts as a primary heat source to the poultry house and the air conditioner drives
heat out of the poultry house when needed. This system can use renewable energy such as
solar or biomass to provide the required heat so as to reduce the operating cost and
environmental impact.

Thermodynamic analysis.
A heat pump transfers heat from a low temperature source (outdoor air) to a high
temperature sink (indoor air), air using a refrigerant as a working fluid while an air
conditioner is a type of heat pump that cools the indoor air by transferring heat from to the
outdoor air. The heat pump can be reversed by changing the direction of the refrigerant
flow allowing the system to switch between heating mode and cooling mode.
Heating mode. The heat pump can use the outdoor air biomass or solar collector as a heat
source and transfer the heat to the indoor air and the heated air can be distributed through
ducts or fans. The coefficient of performance of the heat pump depends on the temperature
difference between the heat source and heat sink, and can be obtained as follows.

Cooling mode. The air conditioner can use the indoor air as the heat source, and transfer
heat to the outdoor air. This keeps the poultry house at an optimal temperature and
humidity suitable for comfortable poultry farming. The coefficient of performance of the air
conditioner also depends on the temperature and humidity of the heat source and heat
sink, and it is

Conclusion.
Heat regulation system using an integrated heat pump and air conditioner is a good solution
for poultry farming, as it can provide multiple functions and benefits.
Energy saving. The system can use renewable energy source and achieve high COP value,
reducing the energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.
Flexibility. The system can switch between different modes and adjust the temperature and
humidity level according to the seasonal and daily variations.
Reliability. the system can operate continuously and stably, with low maintenance and
repair costs.
Productivity. The system can create a comfortable and healthy environment for the
poultry, enhancing their growth and performance.
