1. Control Charts for attributes (8 marks)


• p – chart - used for process control of defectives when it is not possible to
take a sample of constant sample size because the sizes of samples are varying with
time.

• np – chart - the sample size is constant, and the data values plotted are the
actual number of defectives per sample or subgroup denoted by np.

• u – chart - used for process control for defects when it is not possible to take a
sample of constant sample size. deals with the number of nonconformities per item
within the sample.

• c – chart - used for process control of defects when it is possible to take


samples at constant sample size.
