PROJECT PROPOSAL
I. TITLE: Project ITANIM (Income sa Taniman, Aalalay sa Nangangailangan para sa Ikagagaling ng mga
Mag-aaral (Income-Generating Project) dubbed as "Gamit Mo, Sagot ng Garden Ko" – Season 1

II. INTRODUCTION/RATIONALE:
Gulayan sa Paaralan Program (GPP) is one of the programs under the National Greening Program
of the Department of Education. The GPP is one of the mechanisms the government implemented to promote
and raise awareness to address food insecurity in the country. Food insecurity is the state where people lack
regular access to enough safe and nutritious food for normal growth and development and active and healthy
life. However, the proponent of this project targeted to produce fresh fruits from the school garden such as sili
which is highly unpredictable cost in the market, calamansi and the likes.
It will also serve as a laboratory where students can learn and apply their knowledge on fruit-bearing
production and showcase small–scale food production models. It will also inculcate among the students the
values of gardening, wellness and care for environment.
Project ITANIM (Income sa Taniman, Aalalay sa Nangangailangan para sa Ikagagaling ng mga Mag-
aaral in our school dubbed as "Gamit Mo, Sagot ng Garden Ko” – Season 1 as an income-generating
project for schools is that it can help generate additional resources that can be used to support the school's
operations and programs. By selling the fruits produced in the garden, the school can generate income that
can be used to purchase school supplies, equipment, and other necessary resources most especially in
helping the less fortunate learners of the school by providing them the learning materials such as notebooks,
pen, paper, etc.
Moreover, the project can also help promote sustainable agriculture practices and contribute to the
local economy by providing a source of fresh produce for the community. The school can sell the fruits to the
local market or directly to the community, thereby creating opportunities for small-scale entrepreneurship.
Another rationale is that Project ITANIM can also provide opportunities for student engagement and
participation. By involving students in the planning, implementation, and maintenance of the garden, they can
develop important life skills such as teamwork, leadership, and entrepreneurship through the enhancement
of the learning competencies in Edukasyong Pantahan at Pangkabuhayan (EPP) subject and other learning
areas.
Overall, Project ITANIM prescribes the participation of parents and other members of the community
in the conduct of educational programs related to nutrition education, basic pest management, food
preservation techniques, composting and environmental conservation, among others which can be seen as
a holistic approach to promoting health, education, and sustainability in schools, while also providing
opportunities for income generation and community engagement.

III. OBJECTIVES:
Project ITANIM aims to promote and encourage school gardening in both public and private schools.
While the primary objective of the project is to provide students with access to fresh and healthy fruits, there
are several income-generation objectives that can be achieved through this program:
1. Providing a source of income: A well-managed Project ITANIM can produce a variety of fruits that
can be sold or consumed by the school and its surrounding communities. This can provide an additional
source of income for the school, especially in areas where resources are limited.

2. Improving nutrition: By growing their own fruits, students and teachers can have access to fresh,
healthy produce that can supplement their diets. This can help improve the nutritional status of students and
staff, leading to better health outcomes.
3. Enhancing environmental sustainability: By practicing sustainable gardening techniques, such as
composting and using natural pest control methods, Project ITANIM can contribute to the conservation of
natural resources and reduce the environmental impact of food production.
4. Promoting education: School gardening projects can also be used as a tool to teach students about
agriculture, ecology, and nutrition. It can provide opportunities for hands-on learning and practical application
of concepts learned in the classroom especially in Edukasyong Pantahan at Pangkabuhayan (EPP) subject
and other learning areas.
5. Fostering community engagement: Project ITANIM can also serve as a platform for community
engagement and involvement. It can bring together students, teachers, parents, and other community
members to work towards a common goal of promoting healthy eating and sustainable living.

project for the school can help raise funds and generate additional income for the institution. Here's an
implementation scheme for Project ITANIM as an income-generating project:
1. Planning Phase:
• Create a project team and its member to designate roles and duties
• Identify the scope and objective of the project, as well as the expected outcomes.
• Determine the resources needed, such as the land area, seeds, tools, and manpower.
• Establish the target market for the produce and the pricing strategy.
2. Preparatory Phase:
• Identify a suitable location within the school premises for the garden.
• Prepare the soil for planting, including soil testing and soil amendment, if necessary.
• Secure the necessary permits and clearances from the school administration and local
government particularly the Municipal Agriculture Office for possible partnership
3. Implementation Phase:

4. Marketing Phase:
• Establish partnerships with nearby food establishments, supermarkets, and local markets for
the distribution and sale of the produce.
• Conduct marketing activities to promote the project, such as setting up booths and stalls
during school events, posting updates on social media, and distributing flyers.
5. Monitoring and Evaluation Phase:
• Regularly monitor the progress of the project, including the growth and yield of the crops,
sales performance, and customer feedback.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of the project in achieving its objectives and making a significant
contribution to the school's income for its beneficiaries.
• Keeping connected and informing the partners with the latest update about the project
6. Awards and Recognition Phase:
• Posting on School official Facebook Page of the regular customers of the project
• Giving Certificate of Appreciation to Regular Customers

By implementing Project ITANIM as an income-generating project, the school can provide a

sustainable source of income while also promoting the importance of proper nutrition and sustainable
agriculture among its students and the community.

Here are some expected outcomes of Project ITANIM as an income-generating project for the
school:
1. Increased production of fresh fruits: Through this project, schools can grow their own fresh fruits, which can
be sold to students, staff, and the local community. This can lead to increased revenue for the school, as well
as reduced costs for purchasing fruits from external sources.
2. Improved nutrition and health: By promoting the consumption of fresh fruits, the said project can help
improve the nutrition and health of students and staff, leading to fewer absences and better academic
performance.
3. Enhanced learning opportunities: The project can provide opportunities for students to learn about
agriculture, sustainability, and entrepreneurship. Students can also develop skills in marketing, sales, and
customer service through selling the fruits they grow.
4. Community engagement: The project can help schools build stronger relationships with the local community
by providing fresh, locally-grown produce. This can lead to increased support for the school and its programs.
5. Increased environmental awareness: The project can promote environmental awareness and sustainability
by encouraging schools to use eco-friendly practices, such as composting and rainwater harvesting.
Overall, the Project ITANIM has the potential to be a successful income-generating project for
schools, while also promoting nutrition, health, education, community engagement, and environmental
sustainability.
