Purpose of Resource
The purpose of this resource is to give students
a rubric (checklist) for what is expected to be
included in a well written paragraph.

How to Use

When I first introduce this rubric, I do so as a mini-

lesson through an anchor chart. We go through
the different parts of the rubric using teacher
and student (no name) examples to score.
Students help to locate evidence of items on the
rubric. This way students can make a connection
to what is each area of the rubric being scored.
