Good morning to our respected principal, esteemed teachers, and my fellow

students,
Today we are gathered here to celebrate our teachers, dedicating this day to
honouring the remarkable individuals who shape our futures. We celebrate Teacher's
Day on the birthday of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, a philosopher, scholar, and the
second President of India. Dr. Radhakrishnan believed in the vital role teachers play
in shaping societies and nurturing generations. His commitment to education and his
unwavering dedication to his students serve as an embodiment of the values we
honour today.
I am reminded of one such journey that exemplifies the transformative power of a
teacher's influence. This journey belongs to none other than the legendary cricketer,
Sachin Tendulkar.
Sachin Tendulkar, often hailed as the "God of Cricket," stands as a testament to the
enduring impact of guidance and mentorship. In the bustling streets of Mumbai, a
young Sachin was introduced to the world of cricket by his elder brother.
Recognizing his innate talent, it was Ramakant Achrekar, his coach and mentor, who
identified the spark within Sachin and took him under his wing.
Achrekar's influence went far beyond imparting cricket techniques; he instilled in
Sachin the core values of discipline, dedication, and determination. He nurtured not
only a cricketer but also an individual who would carry these values throughout his
life's journey. Achrekar's approach was holistic, tailored to Sachin's learning style,
and designed to foster continuous growth.
Their journey together was marked by relentless hours of practice, numerous on-field
lessons, and priceless off-field wisdom. Sachin Tendulkar's illustrious cricket career
and his enduring impact on the world stage owe an immeasurable debt to the
guidance of Ramakant Achrekar. Their bond stands as testament to how a teacher's
commitment can ignite the flames of greatness in a student's heart, propelling them
to unprecedented heights.
As Nelson Mandela once said “Education is the most powerful weapon which
you can use to change the world.”
As we celebrate Teacher's Day, let us remember that a teacher's influence stretches
far beyond the confines of textbooks and classrooms. Teachers are the architects of
our dreams, the sculptors of our character, and the compasses that guide us through
the labyrinth of life. Today, let us express our profound gratitude to all the teachers
who have touched our lives, who believed in us even in moments of self-doubt, and
who illuminated our paths with knowledge and wisdom.
In honouring our teachers today, we not only pay homage to the legacy of Dr.
Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan but also celebrate the unsung heroes who, like Ramakant
Achrekar, have nurtured greatness within their students, enabling them to shine
brilliantly in the world.
