your mind.

3. Try to answer customer questions about the camera. Then, watch the video
again and check your answers.
a) How will the camera know where the rooms are? You will have to teach it
where to go. [00:23]
b) What can I use the camera for? You can use it to see what is happening in
your house when you are not there. [00:19] You can check if you left
something at home. [00:40] You can see if someone entered your house.
[00:52]

REACTIONS:
1) I don’t think so. My dog would probably get bored with it very quickly.
2) I think so, too. I would probably use it once or twice and then forget about it.
3) You’re right. But you mostly use it when no one is at home, so it doesn't have
to be quiet.
4) I’m not so sure about it. The company gets too much information about your
house: they know how big it is and what is inside.
I wouldn’t like anyone to know that about my
house.
5) That’s just what I was thinking. It is not very
effective if a door is closed.
6) Exactly. I know some people who would love to
play with it.
7) I know what you mean, but maybe the camera
recognizes people and doesn’t fly into them.
8) I understand, but think about all the work that was
done to create it. It can’t be cheaper.

5. Decide which of the statements or reactions in ex. 4 you agree with. Explain
why.
[You can ask your students to talk about three or four statements they agree with
most.]

6. Look at the reactions (1–8) in ex. 4 again and complete the table with the
expressions you might use to agree or disagree.

Possible answers: I agree. Definitely. / I disagree. I’m afraid I can’t agree.

point, just briefly support their opinion. The purpose is to practise the phrases.
• Most gadgets are useless.
• The smartphone is the best gadget ever invented.
• I think traditional watches are better than smartwatches.
• Many gadgets are very expensive and not worth the money.
• Photos taken by a smartphone are just as good as photos taken by a

it? A folding electric bike will make your life easier!
