AGE GROUP: ELEMENTARY – K-6/ AGES 5-11
There is much confusion today about what it means to be a person made in the
image of God. The world is redefining everything, but the truth of God and His Word
never changes. In this study we’ll look at some of the big issues of our day
surrounding men and women, but instead of listening to what the world is saying,
we’ll keep our focus on God and what He is saying. These lessons will lay a
foundation for continuing conversations between parents (and teachers) and
children as they see the huge divide between the world’s message and God’s
message.

When you think about what you want your children to learn at church, what’s the first thing

Teach kids the hope of Christ's resurrection. "Why Easter?" is a 5 lesson series on the
final days of Jesus’ earthly ministry. Through familiar Bible stories, children will see
various aspects of the work Jesus did on the cross on the behalf of His people and
understand more the importance of Easter.

Unit 5 completes the 52-week study of the Big Truths of the Bible. In this unit,
students will focus on the doctrines of salvation (soteriology) and the church
(ecclesiology). As they look at salvation, they will see what the Bible says about
election, faith, belief, righteousness, justification, sanctification, and the truth that
salvation is through Jesus alone. In the second part of the unit, students will uncover
Biblical teaching on the church; what a church is, what a church does, symbols of
the church and how the church grows through evangelism. This unit is an excellent
cap to the study we’ve been working through all year as the truths students have
already learned about God, man, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are come together to
make sense of salvation and the church.

“Honor Your Mom” is a stand-alone Mother’s Day lesson for Sunday School or
children's ministry. In this Mother's Day Bible lesson, children will learn about several
Biblical moms, with a focus on the story of Ruth. They'll see how Ruth honored God
by honoring her mother-in-law, and they’ll see how as the great-grandmother to
King David, Ruth became one of the few moms listed in Jesus’ family tree.
Children will also focus on the 5th commandment and talk about what it means to
honor their mother, thank God for the gift of moms and make something they can
give their mom for Mother’s Day. Most importantly, in this lesson, children will see
that God’s children are called to obey Him, and one way we can obey God is by
honoring our parents, while also seeing that on our own we cannot obey God. We
need Jesus to help us obey and honor our moms!

“The Greatest Dad” is a stand-alone Father’s Day lesson. In this lesson, children will
see the failure of several Biblical dads, while focusing in on the goodness of God
the Father. The main text for the week is the genealogy of Jesus from Luke 3,
focusing on the final line, “the son of God,” showing how Jesus is the Son of God,
not the son of Joseph. While walking through this genealogy, kids will be reminded of
several fathers in the genealogy and what we know about them as fathers from the
Bible.
In small groups, kids will get a chance to review what it means that Jesus is the Son
of God and how all who follow Jesus can turn to God as their Father. They’ll also
have a chance to thank God for their earthly fathers (who hopefully point them to
God the Father) and make something they can give to their dads for Father’s Day.

The Greatest Story ever told is a fun and interactive Children's Ministry Curriculum.
Through these lessons children will walk through the BIG Story of the Bible and see the
overarching theme of God in relationship with His people. Through familiar, and
sometimes less-familiar, stories, children will see Jesus as the Promised One who can
to save His people from sin and death.
In THE NEW TESTAMENT, kids will walk through the life of Christ, the birth of the church
and the spread of the gospel, before looking forward to the written of Christ at the

A 4-week Sunday School series designed to remind children (and adults) that even

3 Christmas Gifts” is a 3-week Christmas series designed to help children see Jesus

Teach toddlers & preschoolers the full story of Creation.
Sing and Play Creation is a 4-week curriculum for toddlers and

preschoolers (age 1-5); designed to teach them that GOD MADE THE
WORLD AND EVERYTHING IN IT.
Each week builds on the previous week’s lesson and looks at a different
aspect of creation, culminating with the creation of people. Included in

your church, community or home. This is a great event to use in lieu of a lesson
one Sunday morning, or to host mid-week or as a community outreach on a
Saturday. This event will help children of all ages to experience the Christmas
story in a new and fun way.
In this 44 page file you'll find ideas for games/ activities, a lyric page for
singing 'Happy Birthday Jesus,' printable game files, decorations, and a
suggested script for telling the Christmas story. You'll also find tips for

We’re starting 2024 with a reminder that we are all made by God. In preschool
classes [ages (0-5)], we’ll spend the month looking at various aspects of the story of
creation, culminating with the truth that God made me. Each week of January will
have preschoolers reminded that God is the creator of all. The elementary classes
[ages (5-12)], will take that truth and build onto it with the truth that God made me
in His Image. As they build on this truth, they’ll be reminded that we are all perfectly
made by God, made in His image, made male and female, and what it means to
find our identity in Christ alone.

In February the focus will be on learning the character of God. Both Preschoolers
and Elementary will spend the month looking at the same attributes; God is
Almighty, the Deliverer, Faithful and Good. The goal this month is that all kids begin
to see the beauty of God’s character and learn about worshipping Him for how He
has introduced Himself in Scripture.

In March, all children will be walking with Jesus to the cross. By taking these lessons
slowly, children of all ages will see the work of Jesus on the cross in new light.
Preschoolers will primarily look at the Biblical accounts leading up to Jesus’ death
and resurrection, while elementary children will see what each of these accounts
teach us about the person of Jesus and the various aspects of what He
accomplished by dying on the cross in our place.

In April, the focus is on the big picture of God’s salvation. In Preschool classes,
children will start a 6 month walk through the Bible using a series called “The
Greatest Story.” During the month of April, preschoolers will see that the Bible is
one big story about God rescuing His people and then will see how the stories of
creation, the fall and Noah all help to move that story forward. In Elementary
classes, children will start a 3 month study focussed the doctrines of salvation and
the church. This study is a perfect follow-up to Easter as it puts meat on the Biblical
account of the cross and helps children to better understand how and why we are
saved, and then how we live out our salvation together in the church.

In May, both preschoolers and elementary children will be continuing the series they
started in April. In Preschool classes, they’ll continue to follow the story of God’s
redemption from Abraham through the Exodus. These lessons will help young
children see the greatness of God and they way He works all things according to His
plan. In Elementary classes, children will answer two of the biggest questions
regarding salvation; do my good works save me? and is Jesus the only way? After
finishing these lessons on salvation, children will start to see what happens after
someone follows Jesus by learning about the church.

In June, the focus in both preschool and elementary is God’s people. In Preschool
classes, young children will learn what it was like for God’s people in the Old
Testament from the time they entered the promised land until the time of Jesus’
birth. They’ll see how God’s people had highs and lows as they sometimes obeyed,
but more often forgot about God and turned their back on Him, but will be reminded
that through it all there were those hopefully waiting for the Messiah. In Elementary
classes, children will look at God’s people today as they finish the unit on the
church. In these lessons, they’ll consider what a church is and what a church does.

In September, both preschoolers and elementary students will be considering what
life was like for the early followers of Jesus in the days, months and years after Jesus’
death. This month, all children will be introduced to the disciples who first believed
that Jesus was the Messiah and see how they were instrumental in spreading the
good news of Jesus around the world. It’s important this month that instead of simply
learning the Biblical accounts that children are challenged to really think about their
response to Jesus.

October will begin with both preschoolers and elementary finishing “The Greatest
Story” series by considering how the Bible ends. After spending a good portion of
the year thinking through the story of the Bible and God’s plan of redemption,
children will once again dive into the attributes of God. The hope is that as they
learn how God reveals Himself to us in His Word, that children will grow in their love
for God.

In November, the focus is rightly on giving thanks, and the One who deserves all of
our thanks and praise. In Preschool classes, young children will consider two more
attributes of God (that He is is omnipresent and that He protects), giving them
opportunities to thank God for who He is. Then, they will consider Jesus’ teaching on
sharing the gospel, and have an opportunity to thank God that someone told them
about Jesus. Finally, preschoolers will end the month with a Thanksgiving lessons
where they’ll learn that God alone deserves our thanks. In Elementary classes, they’ll
work through a 4-week series on Thanksgiving and will have the opportunity to
participate in different Thanksgiving challenges.

The main focus in December will be celebrating the birth of Jesus. Preschool classes
will spend the full month focussing on Jesus’ birth as they consider the prophecies
surrounding His birth, His birth and the visits of both the shepherds and the wise men.
For some added fun during the Christmas season, on December 22 preschoolers will
get to come together for a birthday party for Jesus, complete with party games, to
really get in the spirit of celebration. In Elementary classes kids will start the month
with two lessons giving an overview of the Bible (these are a perfect way to sum up
the New Testament series they completed in October. After that, they too will spend
3 week’s celebrating the birth of Jesus considering how HIs birth served as 3 gifts for
God’s people.
