Virus

What is a virus?
Virus is infectious agents, with a simple
acellular ( non cellular) organization.
It is small and tiny.
It is much smaller than our cells.
It cannot be seen by the normal microscope
but we need special microscope called electron
microscope.
.
The structure of virus
The structure of virus
Virus is not made of cell
 It doesn’t have cell membrane or
cytoplasm.
 It has coat of protein and inside this
coat RNA
RNA is made of little threads that
contain a set of coded instructions for
making more viruses
How viruses replicate
Replication means copy the
instructions of its RNA and make
new viruses
 The viruses can not do any
things before getting inside a
living things.

Species

What is a species?
Species is a group of similar organisms.

The scientists group living organisms in to

different kinds. Each kind of organism is called
a species
35
Species and reproduction

What is a reproduction ? (have a baby ) Identical =

exactly same
Variation
=different
Species and reproduction
offspring =
children
Fertile = can
get baby
infertile =
cannot get
baby
