Icebreaker activities can be a great way to foster positive interaction, help students get to know each

other better, and develop mutual respect within the class. Here are some icebreaker ideas that can
accommodate a class of 39 students, including 2 students with special educational needs:

1. "Two Truths and a Lie": Each student takes turns sharing two true statements and one false statement
about themselves. The rest of the class has to guess which statement is the lie. This activity encourages
students to listen actively and learn interesting facts about their classmates.

2. "Find Someone Who": Create a sheet with various statements or traits (e.g., "Find someone who has a
pet," "Find someone who speaks more than one language"). Students have to find someone in the class
who matches each statement and have them sign their name next to it. This activity encourages
interaction and helps children learn commonalities and differences among their peers.

3. "Partner Interviews": Ask students to pair up and take turns interviewing each other, using a set of
provided questions or their own. Questions can be simple, such as "What is your favorite color?" or more
thoughtful, like "What makes you happy?" This activity encourages active listening, sharing, and
developing empathy.

4. "Group Jigsaw Puzzle": Divide the class into smaller groups and provide each group with a jigsaw
puzzle. The groups must work together to complete the puzzle within a set time. This activity fosters
teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.

5. "Friendship Web": Ask students to stand in a circle and share something they appreciate about a
classmate. After each positive comment, students pass a ball of yarn to the person being complimented,
creating a physical web of connections. This activity emphasizes kindness, respect, and appreciating
each other's strengths.

Remember to adapt the activities, if needed, to ensure the inclusion and participation of all students in
the class, including those with special educational needs.
