QUESTIONS

PART ONE (PROBLEM SOLVING)


1. Juma is a student aged 17 who lives on the Campus of Mtaani college. He buys a new
1,200cc notorbike from Toyo Ltd, paying a deposit of Tsh.500,000 and purchases a
3,000,000 laptop on credit terms from Tx computer Ltd. one of the purposes of buying
these goods was to attract his girlfriend Ivy, back to him and to further this possibility, he
moves out of the hostels at the college and takes a lease of luxury flat from Kiboko at
Tsh.800,000 per month. Juma owed 400,000 in rent to Kiboko flats at the date he left.
After several weeks of luxurious living, Juma became broke and unable to afford even the
most basic needs. Being under great strain, Juman abandons his studies at Mtaani
college, he then refuses to pay the 400,000 rent owed to Kiboko flats, as well as the
remaining balance on the 1,200cc motorbike and laptop. Discuss legal position of all the
parties. [ 25 marks]

law in any African Country. [25 marks]
