MATERIALS:
1) YarnArt JEANS (50g/160m) : light grey, yellow, black, white, red. You need less than one
50g-ball of yarn of each colour.
2) 3.0mm hook
3) Toy Stuffing
4) Stitch markers
5) Sewing thread of light grey, yellow, black, white, red (if you, like me, prefer to connect
pieces not with yarn, but with sewing thread)
6) Scissors
7) Needle
CROCHET TERMS:
• sc – single crochet
• inc – increase
• dec – decrease
• st – stitch
• ch – chain
• sl st – slip stitch
NOTE:
• Keep stitches close together amigurumi-style, Cuphead made with 3.0mm hook will
measure about 24cm in height (including drinking straw).
• When I finish any detail I cut the yarn about 7cm away from the last stitch and hide it
into the piece as I prefer to connect pieces using sewing thread. If you want, you can
leave a long tail after finishing every detail to connect them later with yarn.
HEAD:
Make in light grey.
Rnd 1: Start 6 sc in a magic ring [6]
Rnd 2: inc in all 6 st [12]
Rnd 3: (1 sc, inc) repeat 6 times [18]
Rnd 11-16: sc in all 56 st [56]
Rnd 17: (17 sc, inc) repeat 3 times, 2 sc [59]
Rnd 18-20: sc in all 59 st [59]
Rnd 21: sl st in all 59 st [59]
Fasten off, hide the tail.
MILK:
Make in white.
Rnd 6: (4 sc, inc) repeat8 times [48]
Rnd 8: sc in all 56 st [56]
HANDLE:
Make in light grey. Stuff as you go.

Rnd 3 (back loop only): sc in all 9 st [9]
Rnd 4-17: sc in all 9 st [9]
NOSE:
Make in red. Stuff as you go.
Rnd 5: dec 6 times [6]
EYES (make 2):

Make in white.
Make a chain of 6 ch. Insert the hook in the 2th ch from
hook and crochet the following instructions:
Row 1: 5 sc along the chain. 1 ch and turn the work to
begin the next row.
Row 2: 4 sc, 6 sc into the last st. Don't turn the work
now. Continue to crochet as you go. 4 sc [14]
1 ch and turn the work to begin the next raw.
Row 3: 5 sc, 4 inc, 5 sc [18]
Row 4: 6 sc, inc, 2 sc, inc, 1 sc, inc, 6 sc [21]
Row 5: 7 sc, inc, 2 sc, inc, 2 sc, inc, 7 sc [24]
Now work a row of sc on the upper side of the eye.
EYE PUPILS (make 2):

Make in black.
Make a chain of 7 ch. Insert the hook in the 2th ch from
hook and crochet the following instructions:
Row 1: 5 sc along the chain, 3 sc into the last st. Don't
turn the work now. Continue to crochet as you go. 5 sc
[13]
MOUTH:
Make in black.
Make a chain of 6 ch. Insert the hook in the 2th ch
from hook and crochet the following instructions:
Row 1: 3 sc in one loop, 1 sc, inc, 1 sc, 6 sc into the
last st. Don't turn the work now. Continue to
crochet as you go. : 4 sc, 2 sc into the last loop (it is
the same loop where we made 3 sc at once) [19]
TONGUE:
Make a chain of 4 ch. Insert the hook in the 2th
ch from hook and crochet the following
instructions:
Row 1: 1 sc, inc, 1 sc.
DRINKING STRAW:
Make in white and red.
Start in white:
Rnd 3: (back loops only) sc in all 10 st [10]
Rnd 6: 5 sc. Change to red yarn. 5 sc [10]
Rnd 9: 5 sc. Change to white yarn. 5 sc [10]
Rnd 11: 2 sc, 1 ch. Turn the work and go backward: 2
sc, inc, 2 sc [6]
Rnd 12: 1 ch. Turn the work and go backward: 6 sc [6]
Rnd 13: 1 ch. Turn the work and go backward: 2 sc, dec,
2 sc (look at the photo)
Rnd 14: 1 ch. Turn the work and go backward: make 5
sc into Rnd 13 and 5 sc into Rnd 10, which 5 loops we
haven't used before. Making the first st into the Rnd 10
make it tight [10]
Rnd 15: sc in all 10 st (the 1st of these st we drag to the
beginning of the Rnd 14 and make tight as well) [10]
So, the drinking straw changes the direction. (look at
the photo)
Change to red yarn.

Rnd 16-18: sc in all 10 st [10]
Change to white yarn.
Rnd19-21: sc in all 10 st [10]
BODY AND LEGS:
Make the body in black. We work from top to
bottom. Later we change to light grey yarn to make
legs.
Rnd 1: Make a chain of 18 ch and make a ring [18]
Rnd 5: (inc, 3 sc) repeat 5 times, 3 СБН [28]
Rnd 10-18: sc in all 33 st [33]
LEGS:
PREPARATION: To make the legs divide
the work, identifying 5 stitches for the
central place between the legs (orange in
photo), 6 stitches for the back (blue) and 11
stitches for each leg (green and red). You
may find it useful to use stitch markers (I've
used little pieces of orange yarn). We start
with the leg which base is showed with
numbers of red colour. Now you are in
number 11.
Place the work as it is shown on the photo.

Rnd 19: Join the last stitch for the leg on the
front side to the back side, working a single
crochet stitch (it is the loop number one of red
colour from the previous photo). This sc will be
the first stitch of the right leg. Now the stitches of
the first leg are joined in the round. Continue
working the first leg within limits of this round:
1 sc. Change to light grey yarn. 9 sc [11]
Rnd 20-31: 11 sc in all 11 st [11]
Now it's time for the left leg. Rejoin the
light grey yarn into the 8th unworked
stitch at the back of round 18. This is
where we start the first stitch of the
second leg
Rnd 19: Make 1 sc in the next stitch. After that

you have 6 unworked black stitches of 18th
round.
Join the last stitch for the leg on the back

side to the front side, working a single
crochet stitch (it is the loop number 11 of
green colour from the first photo). This
sc will be the third stitch of the right leg.
Now the stitches of the second leg are
joined in the round. Continue working
the first leg within limits of this round.
On the photo the third sc is alredy made.
8 sc. After you make the 8th stitch of the leg,
sc in the first stitch [11]
Rnd 20-31: sc in all 11 st [11]
Fasten off, hide the tail. Stuff the body and
legs firmly. Using a needle, sew the stitches
between the legs closed.
SHORTS:
Make in red. We work from top to bottom.
Rnd 1: Make a chain of 36 ch and make a ring [36]

To make the shorts legs, divide the work,

identifying 2 stitches for the central place
between the legs, 2 stitches for the back and 19
stitches for each shorts leg (look at the photo).
You may find it useful to use stitch markers.
Join the last stitch for the shorts leg on the front
side to the back side (this will be the 1st stitch of
the shorts leg). Now the stitches of the first
shorts leg are joined in the round.Continue
working the first leg within limits of this round.
Rnd 12-13: sc in all 19 st [19]
Fasten off.
Now we make the second shorts leg.
Rnd 12: Rejoin the red yarn into the 5th

unworked stitch at the back of round 11. This is
where we start the first stitch of the second leg
(look at the photo). Make 2 more sc on this side
of shorts. After that you have 2 unworked
stitches of the 11th round. Then make a round of
19 stitches, working a single crochet stitch on the
other side of the shorts. This sc will be the forth
stitch of the right leg. Then make 15 sc. After you
make the 15th stitch of the leg, sc in the first
stitch [19]
Fasten off.
Hide all the tails and using a needle, sew

the stitches between the legs closed.
ARMS (make 2):

Make in black.
Fasten off and hide the tail. Stuff firmly, but
don't stuff the first 3 rounds (on the photo
in red colour). These rounds are the
shoulders of Cuphead.
GLOVES (make 2):
Make in white.
First, you should make 4 fingers (Rnd 1-5). Don't
fasten off after the 4th finger. The 1st finger is the
thumb.
Fingers:
Hand:
Rnd 6: 3 sc in the 4th finger, 3 sc in the 3rd finger,
6 sc in the 2th finger, 3 sc in the 3rd finger, 3 sc
in the 4th finger [18] (look at the photo)
Left hand:
Rnd 10: 2 sc, 3 sc in the thumb (taking at the
same time the 2 pieces together), 13 sc [18]
Stuff the fingers and the thumb.
Rnd 11: 2 sc, 3 sc in the thumb, 13 sc [18]
(look at the photo)
Rnd 12: (1 sc, dec) repeat 6 times [12]
Stuff the glove.
Fasten off and hide the tail.
Right hand:
Rnd 10: 6 sc, 3 sc in the thumb (taking at the
same time the 2 pieces together), 9 sc [18]
Stuff the fingers and the thumb.
Rnd 11: 6 sc, 3 sc in the thumb, 9 sc [18]
(look at the photo)
Rnd 12: (1 sc, dec) repeat 6 times [12] Stuff
the glove.
TOPS OF GLOVES (make 2):
BOOTS (2 ШТ):
Make in yellow.
Each boot consists of 5 pieces: upper (make 2),
front, back and sole.
Upper piece(make 2):

Rnd 2: 8 inc [16]
Front piece:
Fasten off and hide the tail. Stuff firmly.
Back piece:
Fasten off and hide the tail. Stuff firmly.
Sole:
Rnd 3: (1 sc , inc) repeat 8 times [24]
Rnd 4: 4 sc
5-7 Rnd: 1 ch, turn the work and go
backward: 4 sc [4]
Rnd 8: ch, turn the work and go
backward: sl st in all st of the piece
Assembling
STEP 1 - HEAD
Sew the pupils to the

eyeballs. Add a highlight
in the corner of the pupil
(make it in the same place
for both eyes).
Sew the tongue to the mouth. Sew all
the pieces (eyes, nose, mouth) to the
face. Use this photo of the completed
Cuphead for the guidance.
Now sew the milk inside the cup.

To do this I bend the top side of
the cup outside for about 3
rounds. Use pins if you need.
Start to sew the milk in the

direction that is shown on the
photo. (We start from the left eye
and continue to work until the
right eye). Before the right eye
make a pause.
It's time for
drinking straw!
Stuff the cup firmly and

sew the part of milk that is
left.
The head is ready!
Sew the handle right opposite the face.

STEP 2: ARMS
Embroider the gloves with three strips.
Sew the tops of the gloves to the gloves.
Sew the gloves to the arms.
Arms are done!
STEP 3: BOOTS
Take both upper pieces and sew them back to the
back. Now you have a double piece.
Sew the back piece to the front piece
Side view Bottom view
Sew the upper double piece to the

back piece.
Sew the sole to the bottom of the boot.
One boot is done! Make the

second one the same way.
Dress Cuphead.
Sew the boots to the legs
Sew the arms to the body.

THE LAST STEP: sew the head to the body. CUPHEAD is DONE!!!
