This and that and the other : do several different things

EX : my sister always asking me to do this and that and the other while I’m studying. That’s really bugs
me. = annoy

For lack of a better word : usually used when one is using a word that is not the best choice to describe
sth but it’s only option available.

EX I’m gonna go to the place, for lack of a better word, where preserve a wide variety of trees.
( = national park)

For that matter : used to show that the statement is true in another situation

EX: I didn’t reveal the truth for Jim and Joe for that matter

If you will : it basically means that you’re asking for the person to accept your use of a word, an image, a
term, so on

EX: if you wanna survive, you should pretend to be stupid, like , you’re meek as a cow , if you will.

=disguise your knowledge =silent, hiền lành

Or so : used when you cannot be exact about a number, amount, or period of time you think it maybe a
little more than the figure you’re mentioning

EX: It’s late, I have to go to school in five minutes, or so ( < 5 minutes )

Give or take: used to indicate that an amount is approximate

EX : My bag cost 10$ , give or take ( approximate 10$ )

Don’t get me wrong – don’t take it the wrong way

a) Where are you from/ where do you come from?
I was born and raised in HCM city which is located in the Southern part of VN. It is a metropolitan
area with millions of dwellers. As the matter of fact, I believe it is the most populated city in VN.
Metropolitan (a): relating to a large city
Dweller (n): person who lives in a city, town, cave…..
Populated (a): lived in
As the matter of fact = in fact

b) Can you describe a little bit about your hometown?


HCM city is the typical metropolitan city. It is home to many cafés and restaurants serving food all
around the world. However, the traffic volume is dizzying and life happens at full-speed. It has all
entertainment services young people look for as lively bars, stadium, movie theatre, fashionable
boutique and so on. Entertainment centers and beautiful landscapes could be found easily in there.

Definitely yes, HCM city is not only a busy and vibrant city, it has a lot of tourist attractions
which are worth coming. Thanks to convenient bus routes, now I can get my tourists to travel
around where I live. Visitors will be really keen on participating in outdoor activities in a heart of
city such as the fair, art exhibition and so on.

d) Have you ever wanted to move other places?

To be honest, because of the hustle and bustle of the city, it makes me sometimes really want to
opt out of the rat race by looking for a little peace and quiet places. Suburb areas such as a
coastal city, a small town, a poor housing which is surrounded by picturesque natural landscapes
is an ideal place to blow off steam and enjoy the relaxed/ slower pace of life. It not only helps to
recharge the spirit but makes the people are more laid back and friendly.

1) What is the most popular sport in your country?
In my country, football is the most common sport activity and it acquired its reputation for
the King of sports. Two teams will defend in a football pitch, try to take possession of the
ball and pass it to the teammates and aim to/ with the aim of score/scoring a goal. They also
try to avoid injuries and booking. People prefer football than any types of sports because of
the animating atmosphere it brings back.

Obviously, there are outstanding differences in the sport activities that both of genders are

activities as yoga or ballet to get into shape and stay healthy.
